Mr. Chow used to be one of my all-time favorite places. The food is not as good as it used to be, and the portions are minuscule. Especially considering the prices. Disappointing. Not going back. Try Shin Lee Palace instead.

Very tight space. Extremely small portion for a $45+ dollar dishes. Without drinks and desert it was $200+ for 2 people.

Mr.Chow is definitely a one of a kind resturant. The chef comes out and demonstrate's how he prepares the noodles. It is a small place and they sit you close together which I would say is not romantic at all. We went on a Saturday night which was packed. The duck is their specialty. It's a must if you go there. I would definitely go back in the future.

Overcrowded, extremely noisy, mediocre food. They are most definitely in violation of max occupancy in this establishment.

Been here many times, yet it still delivers on service level, consistency of the food and ambiance of casual-fine dining.

Final point: prefer this location to the downtown location. A little less “trendy” and much more professional and serious.

The staff was super rude. We showed up to our reservation on time and the hostess didn't acknowledge us for about 10 minutes even no else was waiting to be helped by her. Also, while we were dining, the waiters kept taking chairs away from our table and put it back multiple times without even asking us or apologizing for disrupting our dinner. Waiters also elbowed us and kept hitting us as they walked by. Great food but terrible service.

It felt very much like an overpriced diner where the rush was to push people out as quickly as possible. For this price, you would expect a special experience and this was far from it. The food was fine, nothing spectacular and there was no time in any case for it to become memorable.

We went to Mr Chow looking forward to one if their signature dishes. The Drunken Shrimp appetizer for $26 (AKA Grand Marnie Shrimp) were very disappointing. In fact flavorless. I mentioned it to our waiter but nothing was done about the shrimp. But the waiters were eager to sell booze.

We went to Mr Chows early before going to the theatre. Probably not the best choice as this restaurant deserves a more leisurely meal. The servers were very nice and efficient in terms of getting us our food quickly. Everything we tried was good but we would want to go back to try it again.

Was there for dinner during our anniversary weekend. A large group came in and the men sat at one table and the women and children sat separately - next to us unfortunately. One of the children, @3 years old, screamed during the ENTIRE time. Nothing was done. I'm sure we weren't the only ones made miserable.

He literally forced us from our table. You need some sort of policy that if children do that they have to take them outside or leave. He certainly ruined our evening.

The food is excellent and the noodle show is fun, but the service is quite arrogant and the tables are all jammed together. My wife and I have dined here twice now, but I don't think we'll go back anymore. There are other Chinese restaurants in NYC that have the same food quality with better service.

Food is always good! Been coming for many years and I've never had a bad meal. It is noisy and packed. Waiters are always bumping into the exposed chair so be warned! The decor could use some freshening but overal I love this place!

This place is insulting. My husband and I went for our 10 year anniversary to have a good time and enjoy ourselves. We traveled in from Boston - and I get the vibe. But, they gave away our reserved table to a regular, and forced us to wait 40 minutes for a table past our reservation. They never apologized and kept saying the table was paying and they would get us in soon. They offered drinks (I do not drink) and tried to make amends. They never thought to be honest or just say sorry. Honestly, it was just upsetting and for this type of restaurant, I just expected better service.

Mr. Chow could be "Mr. WoW!" Wow not because the food is so fantastic. It is good, not great. Wow not because the atmosphere is so pleasant. The décor is worn, the tables claustrophobic and the service episodic. Wow because there are few places in NYC that charge so much for so little. Any serious competitor would do better. If you like looking at things as they were a long time ago and have money to burn, this is your place!
