Noise level made it impossible to have any conversation. Loud techno music is not compatible with digestion
Better than expected. I had set my expectations low and was positively surprised. the food was delicious. I think it is a bit overpriced and the waiter ticked us to the "per person" tarriff by adding to our order, without telling us. But I have to say,i liked it! Solid quality chinese food.
Would recommend if you are looking for pretty authentic Chinese cuisine in an upscale setting. Considering the price, the food could be a bit more refined. Service superb.
Food was delicious. The portions were very small for the price. Dinner for two people (one glass of white wine and no dessert) $240.
I was excited to try MR CHOW in NYC after having had a few incredible experiences at MR CHOW in Miami. However I found the location to be outdated, the tables were so close to one another that they had to be moved for you to sit down. If the party next to you wanted to leave their table, you had to have them squeeze by you and your food. The food was less than great, the Ma Mignon was not really a filet mignon as advertised but rather a hard piece of roast beef smothered in sauce. The noodles with lobster had about 5 bits of lobster in whole dish...the waiter could not even come to the side of your table and we had to turn around to speak to them. VERY DISAPPOINTING, would not recommend it.
Not worth the money! I should have listened to the reviews! It was loud, no ambiance and no decor! Just white table cloths and one huge flower pot in the middle of the room. They put no effort into even making this “high end” restaurant look good. Everyone was loud and obnoxious! I was soo disappointed. I will never step foot in that place again.
Load, busy, NYC buzz and great food.
Sea bass and duck were great.
Dumplings, so so.
Expensive but fun.
Excellent service from the stafts especially the waiters and the boss boys
We arrived on time for our Open Table reservation. After waiting 10-12 minutes and watching 5-6 other parties of same numbers being sat before us, I sauntered up to the hostess to ask for an update. She nervously stated, “Open Table” always over books us. We waited another 5-6 minutes and were taken to a table that had been open the entire time we’d been there (you can see the entire dining room as you are standing above it in the bar). At first the maitre d took our drink order. I ordered a cocktail, the others ordered a bottle of wine. We sat for 15 more minutes, waiters rushing all around us, none ever approaching our table except to open wine. My cocktail didn’t arrive during that time. I would ask for the cocktail three more times in the next 15 minutes before receiving it. I finally had to ask somebody if we had a waiter after twenty minutes. A tall blond fellow came to the table, only to take our order, not to offer any pleasantries or small talk. He was flat out rude as though he couldn’t be bothered by us. Food came out slowly over the next 25 minutes. We finished our $600 totally mediocre meal and swiftly got out of there. There was one guy in a short black jacket who gave us more attention than our waiter or bussers. I gave him 2/3 of the 20% tip in cash privately and told him that was ALL for him and left the other 1/3 on the table. We will never go back.
Too loud and wait with reservations was very long. Management could not cope and did nothing to rectify. Servers were stressed and service was poor. On the plus side, food was good
Everything you would like from a first class restaurant. Amazing food , especially the duck , great wine list , lovely seating and the most attentive Waiters . The whole evening was fabulous
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere in the world. Exceptional as always
The food was not good, the lamb shank and ma mignon were not good. The chicken satay and turnip puffs were better. We left without finishing. The service was quite good. Would not go again due to price vs taste...
Just an all around great dining experience. Kevin and the entire crew always spot on.
After a these years still a winner.
It is not what it used to be back in the days. Food in LA and London is great and if you want to enjoy it in NY, make sure to visit the Reataurant in Tribecca but avoid 57th.
El mejor Pato que he probado en mi vida, delicioso!!!
Wonderful food as always!
Noisy as always!
Expensive as always!
I’m a client for 45 years!
I’m from Brasil but every time that I got to NY or LA I have to go there!!❤️
Not Chinese food
First clue: tables set with forks. Soup dumplings and potstickers quite mediocre. Steamed sea bass and fiery beef without flavor. Terrific service, but not good enough to make up for food.
Our dinner was delicious and the entire dining experience was superb. If would have also been nice if they asked if we celebrating anything special...It was my birthday and we were so swept up in the moment we forgot to mention it. I would like to see a few more interesting vegetarian options on the menu, since by boyfriend is vegetarian. My favorite dishes include the Ma Migon, Blue Crab, Green Shrimp and the Chicken Satay is a must try.
The food was amazing and I really liked the decor. Service was attentive except they were pulling plates away before we even finished chewing. A little pricey. I would return and it would be fun with another couple or group.
Maitre d’ was charming!
Fabulous food with wonderful staff! I would highly recommend.
Food is amazing. Service could be better. Constantly picking up plates etc while we where eating
Fabulous evening . Menu, service, ambience and quality were faultless . Chinese at its finest .
I have been a client of Mr. Chow for at least 30 years at least. The crispy beef was all but crispy! Being crispy is part of the taste. The gamblers duck came to the table much colder than normal. The pancakes have become smaller. The greens were not tasty. The chicken satay was good and also the squab with lettuce.
Nothing special except for the high prices for average food.
Amazing Chinese food, they make you feel like royalty! Well done!
What a fabulous experience celebrating my birthday. Everyone was so attentive and nice. Our maitre D’ Miguel was amazing. Made terrific recommendations. Can’t wait to return!
Perfect experience ill go again for sure
Fue una experiencia extraña. El restaurante tiene atención muy amable y profesional, pero su interiorismo evoca remotamente la cultura china. Los precios muy elevados para la calidad de los platos que probamos.
Everything was Excellent
Great food! Great service!
Birthday dinner. Never disappointed at Mr Chow!
Truly good, upscale Chinese food served by extremely attentive professionals in dramatically decorated, buzzing surroundings. From the moment you enter, you are warmly greeted by the polished host. Despite the fact that this was our first visit to Mr. Chow, we were made to feel very welcome, and, from the host to the servers, careful, consistent, polished attention to detail and patrons is evident. The food is very good. The chicken satay and prawn appetizers were so very tasty. The dumplings and scallion pancakes were good. The filet mignon entree was delectable and a standout, and the velvet chicken, tofu casserole and sautéed bok choy were also yummy. Cocktails are strong. As there were 4 of us, we ordered “family style” (4 appetizers and 3 entrees with sides of rice and bok choy). We couldn’t finish everything, despite how good it was! Mr. Chow is NOT your local Chinese takeout restaurant. At Mr. Chow patrons dress for dinner, professional staff anticipates your requests, and quality ingredients are very well prepared, all resulting in quite a delightful (and yes, VERY pricey) dining experience.
Food was good as always. Just loud and small spaces.
Very nice Chinese cuisine restaurant, service is perfect, thanks to the server Andrey his advise was super nice , duck made perfectly, thanks to guys !
A perfect evening. invisable efficient service. delicate delightful tastes.
