Nothing special. The service was very unattentive. Not worth it.
Went on a date at Mr. Chow as part of Restaurant Week. Great food, very nice staff, and incredible service. Pinot Grigio wine was also solid, but ok the pricey side. But you pay for quality. Will be back again!
The hostess was extremely rude !!!!
Very high prices...but high prices. The portions are also relatively small.
Everything was spectacular,BUT when leaving the restaurant I received an email from my credit card company regarding the bill.It had two different charges, one for the meal that I just paid for,and the other for almost $200 more.I quickly called Mr Chows and explained to them my problem. After being put on hold several times I was told that the mistake was on their end and that they closed out someone else’s bill with my card and that they would correct the problem.I find this totally Unacceptable for a business that’s held in such high regards!
Love it! I had reservations and wasn’t seated right away but it was well worth the wait! Every item we ordered was delicious. The service was impeccable. It was my birthday so the cake and birthday song topped it off. Must visit gain.
We’ve enjoyed Mr. Chow for years now. The staff are personable and remember you. They care of their image and have kept this up for more than 35 years! They care about your dining. Maybe this is the only place that from the maî·tre d' to the bus boys you are remembered acknowledged and respected.
It is a place that people go for special occasions.
The best way I can explain the food is exceptionally special. If I ask, ”sweetheart what do you want for your birthday”...the answer is ...Mr. Chow?! :)
A consistently outstanding experience. Never disappointing.
Service was the best in 25 years everyone was amazing!
Peking duck to die for. Excellent service and ambience.
The food was great. The Dutch, filet, sea bass, lobster and rice were second to none. Good appetizers and great to have Christal by the glass.
The waiter added 20% gratuity for a table if 5 without asking and pretended that service was not included. NOT cool!
The whole concept of tips should be considered as now days 20% is considered par for the course and seems more part of the price rather than discretionary tip.
This left an uncomfortable feeling.
It was excelllent. We had a wonderful time and the chicken was amazing!
Some good dishes but the world has caught-up. Just not worth the crazy prices.
It was New Year’s Eve and we were in a party of six.
Every thing ran smoothly and the food was pretty good.
The down side was that due to the special event there was no duck, which everyone was keen to eat and that we had to leave early due to the second seating at 8:30 pm.
We live in the neighborhood and thought it would be fun to try Mr. Chow for New Years. It was really not the dining experience we thought it would be. The ambiance was rather tacky - a ceiling full of balloons. The music was good and the volume was talkable. The food was just meh. I thought it was going to be amazing. The noodles were heavy the dumplings were as well. It was okay but I really thought, based on Mr. Chows reputation it would be way better for the money we spent. All that said - the service was top notch.
Nice enough, food wasn’t amazing but it was good. Service was excellent.
The service is excellent and the food superb. Best duck we have ever had. The sides were also great, especially the prawns with walnuts. We went with a large group and the food was served hot and timed correctly. I would recommend this for special occasions or family get together as portions should be shared in order to get to taste any different dishes.
My family and i come to nyc the day after Christmas for a famiky vacation. We had never been to Mr Chow but we will for sure be back. The service was outstanding! I was so impressed! Drinks came right away. Wayer refilled often and food served hot and at a good pace. Friiendly staff all around! Recommend Mr Chow highly! They have it down! This is how a dining experience ahould be!
Should have just gone to Philippe! Bad service, mediocre cocktails and food. Awful desserts. Never going back.
As good as always. Good food excellent service attentive staff.
It was nice and fancy. I definitely go again.
Awful. Pushed us to eat fast to make room. Said there was no dessert so we would leave earlier.
Worst restaurant I have ever been to. It’s a disgrace. 6 people was $1,000.00.
Ridiculous. And they were rude.
The only Chinese restaurant I've ever been to where I didn't see a single Chinese customer OR employee. That said, the service was wonderful and the food was much better than we'd expected. We went with decidedly non-adventurous eaters, and they all loved it, but the more adventurous among us really enjoyed it as well. It's too pricey to make a regular thing of going there, but we're looking forward to the next time, whenever that is.
The hostess, captain and waiters were exceptional! Love this restaurant !
You can count on a perfect dining experience every time.
Uneatable gamblers duck. Made me wait for a table despite booking through opentable. Made me and my beautiful date uncomfortable. An absolute rip off and subpar food. What a disappointment! I hope others can learn from my experience and choose wisely. Not the worst restaurant ive been to but not a satisfactory one either.
It was our first time to dine at Mr. Chow. A friend suggested we try the glazed prawns . . . they were AMAZING!! We also had sweet and sour pork, fried dumplings, and garlic chicken. All of the dishes were delicious!! We will definitely be returning on our next trip to NYC!!
Ehh overrated. Food was bland. Really not worth coming.
My Chow is always 5 star, we live in Texas and never miss going there when we visit NY
Great food and incredible service!
The food was divine, especially the bangkok chicken. The service was excellent.
The restaurant was smaller than I imagined, but it had an intimate and lively feel. I thought the music was a little too loud.
Overall, great experience.
Wonderful staff and delicious food!
Way overpriced for mediocre food
The food was outrageously expensive, small portions and terrible service. All our food came out separately and they charged $19 for white rice side only big enough for two. I would never go back.
Never disappoints. Consistently good. And excellent service from Christo and Kevin.
Noise level made it impossible to have any conversation. Loud techno music is not compatible with digestion
Better than expected. I had set my expectations low and was positively surprised. the food was delicious. I think it is a bit overpriced and the waiter ticked us to the "per person" tarriff by adding to our order, without telling us. But I have to say,i liked it! Solid quality chinese food.
Would recommend if you are looking for pretty authentic Chinese cuisine in an upscale setting. Considering the price, the food could be a bit more refined. Service superb.
