Vermicelli with Lobster
Table was ready soon after we arrived. Food and service are always excellent.
I have been before and it has been outstanding but this time the food, specially the lobster pasta, sole and duck were not hot and tasted okay. Lettuce wraps, shrimp, spicy chicken were outstanding.
The food was not fresh and very salty.
Definitely off their game..Although I asked that they wait a bit before starting to send out the appetizers, that didn’t mean to wait an hour between appetizers and main course. Didn’t carve the duck table side..didn’t have the noodle making in the front..always was fun…food was bland, cold and flavorless..
The bathrooms were not clean..not the men’s or the ladies from what I heard from the men at the table. I realize things may be different after COVID, but I’ve been going for years..has always been special and wonderful..not this time..
Lovely dinner in Nyc
Service was impeccable but the food was nothing special. It was like a trip back in time ambiance wise. There’s definitely an 80s feel. We enjoyed the evening but probably won’t visit again.
Mr chow is always a fun, great spot for overpriced Chinese! We love it anyway!
Terrible terrible terrible - pushiest waiters ever - loudest groups of people making it impossible to hear.
I ask if this group of young girls at a table practically screaming -could be asked to lower the volume -
Waiter was plushie and sent things to the table we didn’t order - and charged us all the same
Delicious upscale Chinese food with a very pleasant ambiance. The filet mignon and salt and pepper prawns were delicious standouts. The host and bus staff were utterly delightful but the waiter was abrupt and neither polished nor courteous. Prices are expectedly high, but, you get what you pay for!
Too loud good food
Mr. Chow is always a great bet for a fun, stylish date night with excellent food, service and ambiance. Great music, too!
As I lived in the Tri-State area, Mr. Chow was my favorite NYC Restaurant of choice there. I now live in Miami, Florida, and decided to return to NYC to celebrate my Birthday. Of course, my Birthday Dinner Venue had to be Mr. Chow! In the midst of our continuing Pandemic, I was so glad to know there was an Outdoors Seating option. The Food and Service were both as great as ever. Mr. Chow still ROCKS!!
Food was great. Overpriced but really good. I'd go again.
Way over priced
Beware of some of the menu traps such as paying individually for each piece of chicken satay absurd
Definitely the worst food and atmosphere in New York
Bring the nine seasons prawns to Miami! Louder, better music.
It wasn’t what we expect
Too expensive and the food is not worth it
Best in world
Chris Sal Sonya incredible
Live love laugh
Go go go
Amazing food, the best service ever… Angel was our waiter he made our night. We definitely will come back.
It was not the best food for the brice given and the waiters werent nice.
Always a great time here, treated well every time I come
Excellent best Chinese food in manhattan
Great food and atmosphere is sexy. Lemon drops are to die for.
Elegant decor, attentive service, expensive but delicious!
I went thinking there is a restaurant week menu. They did not, 6 people cost close to $1,000 which was way too expensive, I was not happy with that.
The food was good but a bit salty.
I always love the experince at Mr Chow :) I have been eating there for over 10 years. They always are a class above the rest.
Excellent food perfectly served.
Excellent service .. good food
It’s good for saying you went as every one should
Try all of nyc top restaurants at least once but definitly not as good as it t used to / should be!
As always a great experience. The best Chinese food in NYC.
Extremely small portions.
Limited entre selection on the menus.
The best NYC restaurant!!!!
Pricey but enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was attentive and answered all questions. Would recommend for an occasion.
The high points were the welcoming hostesses with wicked senses of humor. We loved them! One of our waiters (ironically Eastern European) was extremely helpful in navigating the menu and suggesting choices for our vegetarian friend. Now the bad stuff. The rest of the service was indifferent verging of hostile. They obviously were really unhappy. Made no connection. One ordered me to move my cell phone immediately so he could give me the broccoli I did not order. The food came at odd times with no indication from the staff what dishes they were serving. Slammed down in front of the wrong guest. Then there was the hour wait between appetizers and main course. We thought about ordering good Chinese food from Uber Eats. When dinner finally arrived, the waiters keep trying to give me someone else’s broccoli and forcing duck on the vegetarian. Apparently the vegetarian dishes were pretty good. My crispy duck, a substitution for Peking Duck was really gross, greasy and inedible. Much better at my local neighborhood Chinese takeout ( Best Taste Chinese). The bizarre Chicken and broccoli was a plate of steam broccoli and some odd plate of chicken. The noise level was deafening. Unable to hear waiters or anyone at the table. This was nothing like my experiences with Mr. Chow’s in years past. It was like a disorganized, sloppy diner with unknown dishes tossed onto the table, many inedible. No elegance. Food quality from only ok to inedible. Over $500 for three. What’s happened to the Mr. Chow’s of years passed. I left feeling sad and a physically ill.
Service is amazing. Food has been better in the past.
very disappointed . I have been eating here for 40 years and this was NOT the Mr Chow I loved all my life.
Overall, wonderful ambience, well prepared, very tasty food preparation, well enjoyed by all guests.
Service was horrible
Though the venue is beautiful and much of the food was superb, the Peking duck skin was flaccid and the service was poor. The first course selections were served abruptly and piled up on the small table for three. Awkward and rushed. Then the fish came without rice or vegetables and got stone cold before those sides finally arrived. Maitre D’ appeared only after the bill had been paid. He did offer complimentary dessert, but nothing compensates for an unprofessional wait staff.
