The experience was great for this first timer.
Went for NYC Restaurant week. Got there a little before 6 for a 6:00 reservation and the doors were not yet open. But they opened right at 6:00 and I was first person in. Suggested the music was a little loud and the floor manager lowered it right away with a smile!! Water brought to table as well as drink menu until my friend arrived. The food and cocktails were wonderful, the portions substantial for restaurant week where some places create bite plates. As we were leaving I complimented the floor manager on a wonderful and thoughtful job....and got a hug, and a little dance. Left with a sated appetite and stars in my eyes. Will definitely be back.
Had trouble with the chicken dishes but all else was fabulous. Get the nine seasons prawn, it is the best!
Honestly, a disappointing experience. We had 4 different dishes and none of them were “wow”, some were lackluster. The Mr Chow Noodles for example were particularly mediocre, and you can get a better version down the street at Mee’s Noodles for like $10. For the price point and hype that this restaurant has, we were let down.
Additionally, we went for our 1 year anniversary and never had it acknowledged despite indicating it on the reservation.
I’ve been to a lot of upscale restaurants but this by far is my best yet. The environment was so welcoming especially to people of color. The staff were amazing. Since my party and I walked in, the staff were so accommodating. We had an amazing night. The food and ambience were spectacular.
Always good food and ver personable. Prices are expensive but you get it hat you pay for. Quality food!
My wife and I absolutely loved our dining experience at Mr. Chow! The staff there made the evening very special and the food was amazing!
Incredible food, incredible atmosphere however the hostess was extremely rude. Had a 8pm reservation and when we checked in on our table we were told to “chill” because there were no tables.
Awesome as usual! Our favorite place in NYC. See you next time.
Never disappoints. Service was impeccable and food was phenomenal!
Close quarters. That placed the black people on one side
Fabulous dining experience with delicious food made better by excellent impeccable reception and service.
Aside from chicken satay, which was excellent, everything else was just average.
Excellent food, as usual.
Great service. Very attentive and personalized service.
High quality fast (in terms of how fast it was served) food. Cannot believe we were seated and out in about 45 minutes for dinner. Okay we were there for Restaurant Week, but still one expects a bit more time to enjoy dinner. I could easily spend more time at Shake Shack. Would be good timing for a business lunch. Mind you the service was friendly, professional and very polite. I had another two dinners recently that lasted three hours.
As to the food, it is very nice fusion Chinese food. Nicely done. Not typical Chinese, but that is fine.
Yes, I would go back, but prices are very high and for those prices would expect a leisurely dinner.
What set this experience apart was the exceptional service. Being in Fine Dining myself..this was stellar
The food was a little Bland but it was a good try for Restaurant Week
He chicken satay and noodles were DEVINE!
I know that people say extreme things when it comes to their favorite restaurant, but please believe the hype- this is the best Chinese food you will ever eat your entire life. I took one of my best friends here for a dinner date during Restaurant Week, and not only was the service stellar, the food was the best tasting Chinese food I’ve ever had. We shared each course: our first course consisted of the chicken satay and the Mr. Chow noodles; for our second course we had the drunken fish and the green prawns, and we shared the mixed berry sorbet and ice cream for our third course. I had an old fashioned and she had a glass of red Malbec during our meals. The noodles?! INSANE GOOD. I think there’s some kind of sauce on top that’s just indescribably tasty. The drunken fish is probably one the best cooked fishes I’ve ever had... as were the green prawns-nothing short of amazing. The dessert was a great ending to an amazing meal. My old fashioned cocktail was great and she enjoyed her glass of Malbec. It really was an amazing experience and I would definitely go back.
Good food, but the full Duck menu is too much food for 4 people. 3 starters, main course and the Duck. Therefore, at the end is also too expensive.
Quality outstanding and remarkable service
We had always wanted to dine at Mr Chow. We were in NY for a birthday weekend. The restaurant is lovely and the service is particularly excellent.
However with a lack of any type of dress code the entire experience is ruined. Most of the diners looked as if they came from the gym or the golf course. Baseball caps, T-Shirts etc.
Absolutely Wonderful Experience Will Be Returning Outstanding Service
I definitely had a better time at the Mr Chow in Beverly Hills. The vibe in NY was dull, whereas LA had music and was way more lively on a Saturday night. The dresscode was a wide range from men in shorts and tees, to jeans and button downs, to suits. The food was OK. Wasn’t impressed. It wasn’t too crowded, so cannot blame it on a busy night. I do not mind paying for good quality food, but this was not worth it. Maybe next time.
Service was good . But food is like any other fast food Chinese restaurant
My first time here with a friend and we had a great experience. Will definitely return.
LOVE Mr. Chow's - a jewel box in NYC.. should treasured!
La comida buena pero nada especial
Wonderful as always.
Deliciosa comida y lugar muy elegante sin embargo deben ir preparados para que sea muy caro.
Ridiculous price point for what you get. Not worth it.
I have been going here for years and the food is always good. Fun atmosphere, expensive but worth it.
Get the 9 seasons prawn and the gambei!
They offered champagne Cristal in a glass (usd 75.00 per cup) presenting the product closed in a new bottle, however, when they served the glass the waiter brought an open bottle, almost at the end with the damaged label indicating that they had reused or that was a long time ago in the bucket with water.
I love this place. It Chinese food at its best. Always consistent.
EXTREMELY overpriced, Green shrimp were amazing, everything else was just okay. Pressured into ordering upcharges
This was our very first time having dinner here at Mr. chows. The food was ok. We did the classic
Head waiter tried to up sell us
Mad when we did not comply
25 dollars for white rice!
