We were celebrating 3 November birthdays. There was a hand written card wishing the birthday guests a very happy birthday and thanking us for celebrating at Mr. B’s. I had requested a quiet area with a round table. They put us is the small dining room. It was perfect! They even gave us a round table so it was possible for the 7 of us to talk and see everyone! Then, after dinner our cute wIter surprised us with a big variety of complimentary mouth watering desserts!

Exquisite meal and service. Prices are on the higher side at $50 per plate average but we'll worth the cost. Our steaks were prepared perfectly, the drink menu had a wide selection of simple to complicated drinks so something for everyone and our servers were very knowledgeable and professional. Five stars through and through.

The food was better than when they were Joey Girard, but the service was uneven and only average (the next table had better service - e.g., we had to ask for bread while they did not and also were offered additional servings; our servers did not ask if I wanted more wine until my glass was empty). The pace was deliberate (which was good - our meal lasted 2 hrs) but our servers not attentive.
The seating was crowded and noise level was high, so I would not suggest this place for a romantic dinner.
The food may be expensive but we would come back - but only for a special, non-intimate occasion.

Our meals were prepared perfectly . White Fish and Mr. B's filet were the entries. We would recommend both highly. We have been here before and will certainly return. The wait staff were very pleasant as well.

We had a very bad experience. The service was odd. Someone else's cell phone was on the table, charging when we were led to the table. The hostess just stood there, not knowing what to do, for about a minute, despite the fact that there were many empty tables nearby. Eventually she figured out that she should remove the phone. Although the restaurant has a "steak cart," where the cuts are displayed and which is used to describe the various options, this cart was not offered to us. Nor were the specials described. A various points during dinner, we were left with odd silverware combinations (i.e. a cocktail fork and spoon, when salad was on the table, or two knives but no forks when the entree was served).

The worst part was that we waited AN HOUR between the service of our salad and our entrees. This was explained blithely and smilingly away as a "glitch with the kitchen software." When the entrees arrived, the steak was overcooked and the lobster's texture was mushy (and the server didn't bring the drawn butter -- until asked.) Everything was also under-seasoned -- like the kitchen was afraid of salt, or horseradish in the cocktail sauce, or butter in the whipped potatoes.

The experience was SO bad that -- without me saying ANYTHING to the staff -- the manager comped the entire bill. (We left a tip for our server in any event -- they need to make a living too.) That was very generous and kind of them and completely unexpected. But all in all, I would much preferred to have have had a pleasant, but expensive experience, rather than a free, but horrible one. I wish we had enjoyed our time (we were trying to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary), but we didn't. I do appreciate the act of comping the bill, and we will give Mr. B's another chance -- but not on a special occasion.

Our reservation was at 7 and we had to wait until 730 until we were seated, so they bought our drinks. Service was attentive and special. Since it was our anniversary they provided a Champaign toast and complimentary dessert. We were treated well. However my husband makes better steak at home. Mine was ordered medium rare and came medium well. Mealy at best. The salmon was overdone too and dry. The sides and salads were better than the main course. My husband's French onion soup was too sweet and syrupy. Overall better than when it was a Joey Gerards but they have a ways to go yet.

We were there for a special celebration on a Saturday night. The waiters work in pairs and even with two, we felt forgotten. They appear to concentrate on their larger tables. The restaurant was so loud we couldn't hear each other. The restaurant should consider seating the large parties in the back room.

If you order the porterhouse for two, be advised it comes with one serving of potato and one serving of vegetable.

We had a reservation at Mr. B's on a Wednesday evening to celebrate our anniversary, as we have done previously when it was Joey Gerards. Food and service were excellent, as before. However, unlike our prior visits to Joey Gerards, our total experience this time was very much a disappointment. The new menu has limited choices, with almost no vegetables or chicken or a simple side salad. Too many tables made for tight quarters, making it difficult for patrons and servers to navigate, as well as contributing to the noise level. Bottom line -- we expected more fine dining at this price point.

My husband and I went to Mr. B's Mequon with our 2 daughters. 3 of us ordered steaks - 2 rare, 1 medium. All were slightly overcooked. We also ordered the brussel sprouts, which were undercooked for our liking. One daughter ordered ribs which she said were delicious and the portion was so generous she had plenty for the next day.

The new atmosphere was very nice and our server, Chris, was absolutely the best.

We will go back again as we have been to the location in Brookfield where I had the best steak I have ever had.

I want to like Mr. B’s but it just isn’t hitting the mark. 2nd time here - service is good, drinks are good, people are nice plus it is close to home. However, they simply can’t make a steak very good and is well below in taste and quality compared to what you can get at Carnevor, Capital Grille, or Mo’s downtown. I don’t know if it’s the chef or the equipment but on my 2nd trip the steaks just taste very bland and certainly not what you expect for a $40-$50 price tag. They need to figure this out.

Very upper end dinner was well served and well prepared. We had a very nice table but it directly overlooked the seating for the bar which was slightly disruptive to our Anniversary dinner. We did have a reservation well in advance and would prefer if the bar had separation from all dining tables

My husband and I went for a date night. Food was delicious, service was great. We sat in the back room, so it was quiet which was nice. Front room is a little noisier, but not obnoxious. We would have been fine sitting there, too. This was our 2nd trip to Mr. B's but first time at the Mequon location. It's awesome - we are big fans.

Went there for our anniversary dinner and the food was beyond disappointing. My wife had to send her Sea Scallops back, as several of them contained grit - thoroughly unpleasant. While my filet was prepared well & a terrific cut of beef, the temperature of the steak was barely warm upon serving and totally flavorless, no seasoning could be detected at all. Also, the thin paper table covering works great at Texas Roadhouse, but it’s really pretty tacky for a restaurant of this stature. On the positive side, our drinks and my wife’s lobster bisque were outstanding along with the other apps (Josper Bacon) & side dishes (roasted potatoes with bacon). Also, our service between the two different waiters was terrific. Will go back again for drinks and possibly apps in the bar area, but not for dinner!

Had a very nice dinner, including an appetizer and a side vegetable . First off, our service was very good. Our waiter was great. His assistant kept our water glasses full and cleared the table in a timely manner. We both had the combos, filet with shrimp scampi and filet with scallops. Both in our opinion were very good. Scallops were done perfectly. The side of creamed spinach and the crab cake app were equally as good. Loved the sweet potatoes and they were not overly sweet with added sugar. Our waiter's suggested bottle of wine was right on. Great evening all around. Unfortunately not a place we will frequent often as it is a wee bit expensive.

Having dined at Mr. B's on Capital, I must admit I was a little disappointed with the Mequon location. The service was slow and the food was just warm when we were served not hot like you would expect. Since the restaurant was not overly busy that night, I'm not quite sure why the service was slow. I will wait until I hear that they are comparable to their other namesake before I return.

First of all, the steaks were fabulous. I had the 6oz filet with shrimp scampi and my husband had the ribeye. I ordered the filet medium-rare, and it was a very good medium-rare, which is hard to find these days. Unfortunately, the shrimp scampi was a bit fishy tasting. I feel there are some things that could be done better in order to truly make Mr. B's an experience. 1) For some older folks, the lighting was way too low to see the menu. 2) We had to ask our server for bread, they didn't offer it right away. 3) Our table was wobbly. 4) A salad or soup would be nice to include with the meal price instead of having to pay extra. If the steaks hadn't been so good, I would have rated the Overall as a 2 (Fair).

Love Bartollota restaurants, have never been disappointed in the food quality or service in the past. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in both this time. Service was very slow, the steak was not salted, unseasoned. The baked potato came out plain with butter from the bread service, no other toppings. Too many other Bartolotta restaurants to enjoy.

Service was lacking from the start 10 min or more between every iteration. The hostess was the best service provider. She greeted us well and told us to take a seat at the bar and have a drink as we were about 5 min early. The bartender was a dud. He never smiled. Did not engage us. He asked for our drink and never said anything to us after . He just gave us our drink and never spoke a word. Then the hostess came and sat us. We sat for over 10 min before the waitress engaged us. She asked for our water order. Took her 10 min to bring back a bottle of Pelllegrino. Then she took our order and I she asked when to bring the bottle of wine we ordered. I said with the app. 10 min later she came back and said they couldn't find the Marsany we ordered. So we had to pick another Pinot. Then after the app came and we finished it (10 min) a Manager (I believe) came with the original bottle we ordered - they had found it! He was nice we discussed the wine selection and he told us he would come back and check on us (he never did). He left our dirty app plates on the table and by this point it was 20 min of no one picking up our dirty plates. I happened to look around to see if someone was around and the hostess caught my eye and she came over and asked if I needed anything. I asked her to remove the plates. She did with a smile. No wait person and the manager wou poured our wine had noticed to take the plates for over 20min. Our salad came - we waited 15+ min after finishing the salad for our entree. Bread service did not come until the salad was almost over.

In all you can see they have a serious service issue. Everyone around was a little miffed it seemed. It took us 80 min from ordering to go through one app and a salad. That is too long - expediting and servers not in sync. We passed on desert as we just didn't want to be there for what would have been more than 2 hours at that point. We waited over a month to try still kinks.
