Mr. Benny's Steakhouse
South African and Australian cold water lobster tails along with wild Alaskan salmon and Canadian fresh water walleye and lake perch. Along with other Mr Benny"s specialties.
it was my birthday and the restaurant was recommended by friends. Dinner for four 2 salmon dinners were ordered and both were dry over cooked- rack of lamb was burnt but one dish was very good shrimp out of 4. The manager was apologetic about the lamb-we didn’t mention the salmon
The waitress was excellent
Friendly and knowledgeable bartenders
The server was lovely, however, we waited forever for our dinner and had to remind staff about our dessert order. I had the most over cooked Salmon I’ve ever had and the Sea Bass was terribly overpriced for the quality and presentation. Terribly disappointed considering the price tag associated with the meal. Not sure what the locals see in this place.
What a wonderful place for dinner. Food and service were excellent! Great way to celebrate our third wedding anniversary! Thank you!
A "supper club" gem in the SW suburbs. The service was top-notch and the food (and cocktails) were absolutely excellent. We were there on a quiet Tuesday evening but if you plan on a weekend, make a
reservation! This place hops on the weekends. A gem in the SW suburbs!
Great food and service! Went for my wife’s birthday and enjoyed the porterhouse and grilled sea bass. Amazing! Nick at the bar is the man! We will be back soon, thanks for making my wife’s birthday special.
Our waitress, Emi, was a delight! I would return, just because of her. Our food was great!
We both have allergies and she made sure they were addressed.
We were celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary, Had aa great time.
It was my first time there and I loved it there. Connie was our server and she was the best!
Never been disappointed at Mr. Benny’s. This place has it all.
Love it all away around!
A suggestions would be to hand out a Wine List with the Dinner Menu.
Positives were great waitress (Rebecca), she allow us to set the pace of our dinner. Atmosphere was classy, restaurant very clean, Bus Boy service was also great.
Negative was the Gumbo Soup. Totally sub-standard for such a wonderful restaurant.
We had the Sea Bass (5 Star) and the Walleye (4 Stars - do to over cooked) and the Augratin Potates were absolutely delicious! The Dirty Gin Martini was also great.
Most definitely my wife and I will be back. Truly a great experience!
We have enjoyed Mr Benny’s for the past 40 years. The food is absolutely delicious and the ambiance wonderful! The food and service has been consistently terrific for all those years!
We’ve been going for years and are never disappointed. Consistently excellent food and the very best service. Our reservation was honored at the correct time, bartender remembered us AND our favorite drinks. We live 70 miles away but make it in for most special occasions
Very comfortable setting for dinner, with wonderful staff. Chilean Sea Bass was delicious, light and flaky. My husband's filet was cooked just the way he likes it.
Can’t wait to go back to Mr. Benny’s. We ordered the 8oz fillet...cooked exactly how we wanted .
We love Mr. Benny’s!! Such a welcoming and comfortable experience and we always look forward to our date nights here! The food was delicious!! Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time. No rush, good cocktails, excellent food. Would go back again.
Fantastic food and our waitress Lindsey was awesome!! We will be back soon!!
Exceptional Service and Food! We celebrated my son’s birthday and found it fantastic!
Anniversary.. as always Mr.Bennys comes through!
Excellent food, but wish the salad had more than greens and dried cranberries. A slice of tomato or cucumber would be better
The third Benny's location at which we've had opportunity to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Food (especially the homemade cream of mushroom soup) was excellent, service the same. A little out of the way but worth the trip.
Filet was dry but everything else was excellent —service was excellent
The place was closed up!!! Thanks fir bring on top of it.
This was our second visit, and, undoubtedly, we'll be back. However, I ordered ribs this time, and was a bit disappointed. The menu describes them as "meaty," and they were anything but. Taste was okay at best, and it seemed they were bit over-cooked. I probably would not order ribs again, but looking forward to sampling some other entrees in the future. My wife had the petite filet, and loved it.
Fine old school south suburban steakhouse with attentive service and a full value menu appealing to seniors and families looking for a nice evening out.
Seated by the table closest to the kitchen, although the restaurant wasn’t close to crowded. Does Mr Benny’s have something against OpenTable?
Salmon was pretty dry. Sides unexceptional. The filet mignon was good. Service OK.
The shrimp de jhong and ya gratin potatoes were very good, however; my husband’s ribeye was exceptionally fatty and the char on both our steaks tasted a bit strange.
The food is always good. We had a small celebration and my husband got the surf and turf. It was Market Price but according to him, worth every cent. Best Lobster. I can only go buy his opinion since I do not eat lobster. The cocktail Shrimp are to die for and the filet is the best. Nick makes the best cosmo I have ever tasted. Our waitress knew it wasn't quite my husbands birthday, but he was celebrating and she brought him out a dish of peppermint ice cream with a candle! So sweet and thoughtful.
Mr. Benny's is our favorite restaurant. We always go there for our anniversary dinner, because we know we will get a fantastic meal and great service from a friendly staff. Delicious appetizers and the best steaks around.
Lemon shrimp and delmonico steak were delicious. Great hot rolls and wonderful vinaigrette salad dressing.
Our waitress was excellent, the servers were always there to fill the water glasses and pick up empty plates. I think the menu needs updating because like the filet of salmon is ready wide Alaska soho salmon. Which is way better than menu stating filet of salmon, but they came out to explain the menu to me. Over all great experience.
Our waitress was fantastic! She was so sweet and quick about everything. We had a toddler in our group and our waitress was so considerate to offer to bring his food out as soon as it was ready.
Everyone in our group raved about their dinner! We will definitely be back.
As soon as our toddler began to act restless, we excused ourselves for the evening, but our group stayed a little longer. I certainly hope he wasn’t too loud or annoying for anyone.
Mr. Benny’s is always the best, from there wine selection to the amazing selection of seafood or steaks. They never disappoint!
Butter! That is how easily my knife cut through my petite filet. Perfectly cooked, it was meat nirvana. I wasn't sure what to expect when my friend picked Mr. Kenny's but walking in, I was immediately impressed with how wonderfully they camouflaged what could have been a boring old structure into a a charming space. Palm trees, moderately dimmed lights, Sinatra playing...I was so into it I bypassed the wine and had a Whiskey Sour (it was perfect too). The baked potato was good, the veggie was a bit forgettable but I didn't care, the steak was that good.
Great from start to finish. From the staff greeting us as we entered the door, from appetizer to dessert everything was great. The wife could not have been more pleased on her birthday.
I have waited years to try this local "hot spot". The people, place, service was all good. I was very surprised to find both my steak and my wife', 2 different types, were chewy and cheap meat.
I am a steak lover. I make it at home, I dry age my own etc. The steak I ate there was exactly like when I get cheap on sale meat, like Mexican Beef for $4 a pound.
Wife had "Delmonico" which should mean best cut of the day. It was chewy and a sad piece of meat, if I had paid $15 I would have understood.
My wife's comment 2 bites in says it all "you make much better steak at home"
The service was great. Our waitress was on point and answered every need that we had. Unfortunately I was expecting more from this place on food front. Steak was good not great. The appetizers good. The portabella mushroom was the best food item of the day.
Food was very good, steak was cooked to perfection. Service was very good & friendly. Atmosphere was reminiscent of a 50's 60's supper club with Frank Sinatra & Englebert Humperdink singing. My parents would have loved it. I felt like I was in a flash back when I was a kid.
