The place was closed up!!! Thanks fir bring on top of it.
This was our second visit, and, undoubtedly, we'll be back. However, I ordered ribs this time, and was a bit disappointed. The menu describes them as "meaty," and they were anything but. Taste was okay at best, and it seemed they were bit over-cooked. I probably would not order ribs again, but looking forward to sampling some other entrees in the future. My wife had the petite filet, and loved it.
Fine old school south suburban steakhouse with attentive service and a full value menu appealing to seniors and families looking for a nice evening out.
Seated by the table closest to the kitchen, although the restaurant wasn’t close to crowded. Does Mr Benny’s have something against OpenTable?
Salmon was pretty dry. Sides unexceptional. The filet mignon was good. Service OK.
The shrimp de jhong and ya gratin potatoes were very good, however; my husband’s ribeye was exceptionally fatty and the char on both our steaks tasted a bit strange.
The food is always good. We had a small celebration and my husband got the surf and turf. It was Market Price but according to him, worth every cent. Best Lobster. I can only go buy his opinion since I do not eat lobster. The cocktail Shrimp are to die for and the filet is the best. Nick makes the best cosmo I have ever tasted. Our waitress knew it wasn't quite my husbands birthday, but he was celebrating and she brought him out a dish of peppermint ice cream with a candle! So sweet and thoughtful.
Mr. Benny's is our favorite restaurant. We always go there for our anniversary dinner, because we know we will get a fantastic meal and great service from a friendly staff. Delicious appetizers and the best steaks around.
Lemon shrimp and delmonico steak were delicious. Great hot rolls and wonderful vinaigrette salad dressing.
Our waitress was excellent, the servers were always there to fill the water glasses and pick up empty plates. I think the menu needs updating because like the filet of salmon is ready wide Alaska soho salmon. Which is way better than menu stating filet of salmon, but they came out to explain the menu to me. Over all great experience.
Our waitress was fantastic! She was so sweet and quick about everything. We had a toddler in our group and our waitress was so considerate to offer to bring his food out as soon as it was ready.
Everyone in our group raved about their dinner! We will definitely be back.
As soon as our toddler began to act restless, we excused ourselves for the evening, but our group stayed a little longer. I certainly hope he wasn’t too loud or annoying for anyone.
Mr. Benny’s is always the best, from there wine selection to the amazing selection of seafood or steaks. They never disappoint!
Butter! That is how easily my knife cut through my petite filet. Perfectly cooked, it was meat nirvana. I wasn't sure what to expect when my friend picked Mr. Kenny's but walking in, I was immediately impressed with how wonderfully they camouflaged what could have been a boring old structure into a a charming space. Palm trees, moderately dimmed lights, Sinatra playing...I was so into it I bypassed the wine and had a Whiskey Sour (it was perfect too). The baked potato was good, the veggie was a bit forgettable but I didn't care, the steak was that good.
Great from start to finish. From the staff greeting us as we entered the door, from appetizer to dessert everything was great. The wife could not have been more pleased on her birthday.
I have waited years to try this local "hot spot". The people, place, service was all good. I was very surprised to find both my steak and my wife', 2 different types, were chewy and cheap meat.
I am a steak lover. I make it at home, I dry age my own etc. The steak I ate there was exactly like when I get cheap on sale meat, like Mexican Beef for $4 a pound.
Wife had "Delmonico" which should mean best cut of the day. It was chewy and a sad piece of meat, if I had paid $15 I would have understood.
My wife's comment 2 bites in says it all "you make much better steak at home"
The service was great. Our waitress was on point and answered every need that we had. Unfortunately I was expecting more from this place on food front. Steak was good not great. The appetizers good. The portabella mushroom was the best food item of the day.
Food was very good, steak was cooked to perfection. Service was very good & friendly. Atmosphere was reminiscent of a 50's 60's supper club with Frank Sinatra & Englebert Humperdink singing. My parents would have loved it. I felt like I was in a flash back when I was a kid.
We were seated promptly. The server assigned to our table Roxie, I believe as her name, was fantastic. She and the bus boy assigned to us, were both on top of everything. The food was was delicious and very well prepared.
This is a classic steakhouse. Started at the bar with Nick and a cocktail. Moved on for dinner and Connie was great serving us as was Larry presenting the wine and recommendations for appetizers. Excellent steak. Best in the suburbs. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.
We went to Mr. Benny’s for our 40th anniversary. This restaurant has been a favorite of ours for many years so it was a natural choice for us. Everything at this restaurant is exceptional from the ambiance, staff, and food. These days a steakhouse has each item separately and you have to build your own meal. That gets VERY pricey. Not here. You will not find better food anywhere. The prices are very reasonable.
Mr Benny’s has amazing food and the ambiance was great! Our server Roxanne was incredibly attentive. Great place.
Great food and value
It was great. Service was very good. People were friendly. And the food was excellent.
I frequent Mr. Benny's.
Outstanding food!! Outstanding service!!!
This was our first time to the restaurant. Parking was great. Prices were overall fair given the quality of the food. Service was overall good. Our table had a variety of entrees and overall tasted great. The double baked potato, with the nearly $5 upcharge, was a big disappointment. It was probably the worse double baked potato I have ever had-- it was dry/overdone and the filling was nothing special. I would not have that again in the future.
Always consistently excellent! Food, service, ambiance!
Table too large for group of 6. Food served tepid. Server uninspiring. Very pricey.
Everything was wonderful, as always. Thank you, Connie, for your kindness & accommodating our party of 8 with a quiet, private room. Mr. Benny’s is the BEST. Such a special place and the menu is delicious! We appreciate this special restaurant that is so rare in our now fast-paced world. Take me back........ to Mr. Benny’s!
Very good service and quality of food.
Ownership takes pride with hands on services and it makes a difference!
I recommend surf and turf, you’ll not be disappointed!
See you soon
We actually just sent off a letter to you regarding our experience on 3/28. You should be receiving it soon by mail. In short, we have often enjoyed your filet mignon and some fish. This time we saw that the Delmonico rib eye was your specialty, so we decided to try it as we both love rib eye. It was the Worst rib eye we ever had. It was tough and stringy and we ate very little of them and brought them home for the dog. We will never order that again and may never return unless you find some way to make this right. It was a birthday celebration that turned in to a dining disaster.
We cannot understand how your filet can be so good and your rib eye so BAD. Hopefully you can find a better supplier and better buyer of your meat products.

Mr. Benny's is always outstanding. We have been to dinner quite a few times for our anniversary and my sister's as well. The food is out of this world along with the service. We will be back!!!!
This was our first visit to Mr. Benny's following a recommendation of close friends. We were not disappointed. Both food and service was excellent, and was well worth the 35 minute drive. We will most definitely be back.
Love their au gratin potatoes!! Steak was very good!!
Mr. Benny's is a great steakhouse. The servers, staff and service gets two thumbs up!
We love Mr. Benny’s especially for special occasions! The atmosphere is very relaxing. The Sinatra music is wonderful dinner music! We never feel rushed and the food is fantastic! I highly recommend Mr. Benny’s for any occasion!
Salmon not great. Everything else ok
We were celebrating a birthday the night we were there. Had a wonderful evening, Connie our server was great. This is a hidden gem in a small town...no need to go to Oak Brook or Lombard for dinner. We have been here several times and have recommended to family and friends. For us, it's the kind of place you go to for a special occasion or you just want to treat yourself to a great meal.
Not my first time at Mr. Benny’s. As always, great service, delicious food (their steaks are fantastic). I would recommend Mr. Benny’s to anyone for a great dining experience.
We save going to Mr.Benny's for very special occasions, only. We dress special and feel we are treated that way from the moment we walk in
