The food was very authentic and light. Very cool vibe and the service was impeccable.
The outdoor dining isn’t really outdoor. It’s an enclosed area that is shared with another restaurant. It’s better than completely inside but definitely not outdoors. Food was good and service was good.
The food we had was very good. However, the space is super-crowded with tables and put me on edge. We were seated at a small table for 2 in the middle of the space where the main traffic from the staff took place. The entire time we were there we had staff backed up waiting on one of them to squeeze through the space so they could pass through.
Overall, if the prices were less I think we'd go back fairly often. The prices are reflective of a higher-end, more eclectic restaurant where you'd go for the whole experience. That said, I will likely utilize Mozzarella Bar as a fun takeout spot and dine in experience.
Made reservation for outdoor seating. Then, received call that they were short staffed and would we agree to inside seating? We accepted. Upon arrival it was clear that they were not understaffed as there were 4 waiters loitering in the front entry. Food overpriced. Wine selection all Italian and not desirable.
Everytime we come its less of an experience. The server was new ok but food came out manicotti not hot, pizza was perfect, dirty plates left on the table it was cluttered. The desert we usually look forward to both not so great. Its freezing in the restaurant we were all shivering . Wasn't a good experience last few times dining in.
The food was delicious starting with the bread, main course and both desserts! Portions were more than enough. The restaurant itself is small, so be prepared to dine very close to others. Also very noisy! Next time I’d opt to sit at the bar.
It was really good! Moving from NJ 5 years ago to Franklin it was good to finally find some Italian that reminded me of back home!
Ordered drinks and then an appetizer. Drinks came and then appetizer. Just started eating and enjoying our drinks when the meal came. I sent them back since we obviously weren’t ready. Then they came again when we were finishing up our appetizer. Still not ready but took them and squeezed them onto the table. Food was ok. Bolognese was super salty. Will try again and get the pizza.
The food was mediocre. One person ordered the angry pasta after inquiring about how spicy it was. They were told it was spicy but not too much. I cannot imagine anyone enjoying that meal nor could anyone else at our table. Maybe it was just overly spiced that night.(Hopefully!) Our server was nice and knowledgeable but unfortunately that’s not enough to get me back in the door.
So thrilled to have Chef Matthew back in town! We were big fans of La Trattoria in Franklin and have missed his authentic Italian cuisine. Mozzarella Bar did not disappoint! We loved being able to have a reservation and enjoy a leisurely dinner. Everything was exceptional. We had the lasagna, bolognese, and mother in law dish. Be sure to get the bread! Everything is FRESH and homemade. Service was prompt, attentive and very knowledgeable. Looking forward to many more meals there!
Liked the atmosphere and good options on the menu but the service was really slow and the food was not good. Every step of the process from drinks to dinner took a very long time. When dinner finally did start to arrive, everyone's food arrived at different times. The biggest issue was the quality of the food. My lasagna tasted OK but was cold in the middle, which was especially disappointing after such a long wait. The eggplant in the eggplant parmesan was only about half cooked.
The Pizza and the Caesar salad were very good, but the other person l was with never got there Chicken Parmesan. The food did not come out together and l was finished eating and when we inquired with the server, the Chicken Parmesan was just being put in. Also, l had ordered a Sangria that l never received. We cancelled the Chicken and the sangria and asked for our check. The waitress said "ok would you like me to box it up so you can take it with you." That was a no. As we were leaving, a manager ask about our experience and he said was sorry and went on his way. We will never return. You have to make a reservation and they are way over priced.
This is pretty much our weekly go to 😊. We have been enjoying a different item each week since they opened. Very authentic Italian cuisine. Delicious, fresh and the flavors well developed. When it’s just us two, we love sitting at the bar. On your first visit, for sure try the lasagna, Cesear salad and bread! Bon Appetit
Great food, friendly staff, wonderful bartender
We love mozz bar sooo much. The food is insanely good. We’ve been multiple times. The food is everything and we will keep coming back. The bar tender is our fav - love seeing him when we come in and he always knows the best items on the menu.
The food is great and Lee is a great server!
This was our second visit. Have never had better Italian food.
Terrible service!! The food is really good but not good enough to make up for the lack of service. We’ve gone several times and the service is always lacking. We waited 17 mins at our table and just got up and walked out. At that point we had ordered bread and nothing else. Waiter walked up and went “oh water” and walked away and never came back, even though he walked by our table 9 times. Not one person asked us why we were leaving.
Service was SLOW. Took 40 mins to get our appetizers. Table that was sat 20 mins after us got their dinner way before us. Food was super delicious and would give them another try.
Food is excellent, a bit pricey. Had to ask for bread for the table. Space is small and quite a bit of care is needed getting to and from the table.
Wonderful food and amazing service! GET THE BREAD!! The manicotti was rich and filling. The “mother in law” sauce was excellent but light on the salt. A minor detail but overall an excellent meal and great place. Highly recommend
I have visited twice. The food was good and hot. The server was friendly but didn’t know a lot about the menu, I think she was new. I was really disappointed the bread is no longer complimentary.
Good food good service. Packed seating arrangements. Need more space
Good authentic Italian food.
The service was incredibly slow because I believe they were short staffed. They had beer, wine and a cocktail menu. However, we couldn’t order cocktails unless they were made with Prosecco because their liquor license was issued for the wrong address. We found a cocktail that they could make with Prosecco and it took until our long after our appetizer was delivered for them to tell us they were out of Prosecco too. The food was good but the operational issues took a lot away from our experience.
Food was excellent! The pizza was absolutely fantastic as was the arancini. The bread appetizer is a must. Had a delicious cocktail with strawberry gelato in it! It was busy, and the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation because of the acoustics, but I would still definitely recommend! The service was excellent as well! Can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu.
We were disappointed in the food - from the wedge salad to the Mommas spaghetti dish. The wedge was not presented well and was really just the lettuce with slice of bacon and couple of peanuts/cherries. Eat wedge salad a lot and this was the bottom of the list. The main dish, split between two of us, was almost not even lukewarm. We almost sent it back but decided we did not want to wait for it to probably be zapped to warm it up. We hoped the flavor would make us forget that it not warm. We were wrong...flavor was just ok nothing special. To top off - there was no bread offered which we thought unusual for Italian place. Overall for Italian - we wanted to love it but did not.
To set the stage, I've been to Mozzarella Bar twice. once when they did their soft opening and just this past week. So, roughly 4 months apart. Service was bad, for the first go around, so I was hoping they would improve. First go around the actually think the owners wife was "helping". Which meant, she sad at the corner of the bar, like a proud peacock, Sadly this isthe easiest thing to fix, but is still a major issue. I hate to say this, but if you're going to trust your restaurant to be ran by a bunch of kids, you're going to fail. Our server, actually did a better job, throughout the night, even apologizing for being down a person in the kitchen.
I'm not sure who the "dude" working behind the bar is (maybe the manager), but he's worthless. Slow getting drinks and when he came by to ask "is everything ok", he should have picked up my credit card, instead me having to literally wave the girl down to run it. And is wasn't even busy. Who's actually running the place?
We ordered wine and it took like 15 minutes and we got an opened bottle, with the cork jammed back into and 2 glasses. "Hope you like it". Upscale dining for adults, you say? Um, no. Remember that comment about kids running your "upscale" place?
The food: Ok, here's where it gets mixed. First, I understand the "bread policy", but this should be a menu item. Again, who's managing this place?? Salad's were great! Entree's where iffy. My wife have the San Marzano which she thought was Spaghetti, EVOO and tomatoes..a nice lite dish. It came out like Spaghetti and heavy tomato sauce. The pasta was also WAY undercooked. Not even close to al dente. I had the Malfatti "Mother in Law". It was good. Pasta was a tad overcooked, so not sure why we're getting pasta 2 ways. The spicy meatball was ok. Niece had the Manicotti and said it was good. Every was piping hot. So see.. mixed.
I'm going to say "yes" to recommending this place and HOPE they improve.
The entrees were great if you can deal with bad service. I cannot. I ordered a bellini and i saw it sitting on the bar waiting as the server talked to the others. It finally came. When I ordered another, when my meal came...bellini never didn't offer of a comped drink nothing. I had asked for sangria and place had only been open an hour yet they were out. Finally when I told the manager the food was great but service.....he just walked away. Oh and for the upscale Italian place I had to take my payment to the bar like a cracker barrel. Good luck!
I like that they make your pasta fresh when you place your order.
We sat at the counter for our first visit and we we able to view a variety of the dishes available. Our meal was superb.
It was a wonderful date night and I can’t wait to go back and try something else!
Nice place. Matthew was an attentive and kind
waiter and the food was excellent!
The food is excellent! We have eaten here several times now and would definitely recommend it.
Great time celebrating my father in law’s birthday!
Didn’t get waited on for 20 minutes. No social distancing between tables. Server was very slow to take order and refill waters.
When we arrived for our reservation, the table wasn’t set. It was ready, but not set. The waitress was trying to find chairs and silverware to place. We ordered drinks and appetizer. The bread was amazing. We ordered entree’s. Two orders of chicken parm came with no pasta. When we asked the waitress, she said it didn’t come with pasta. After 12-15 min and most of the chicken parm eaten on both plates, two sides of pasta showed up. The Alfredo sauce, which was wonderful the first visit, was very watered down. The manager came over to ask us how everything was. We let him know of the food not coming out together for two of the meals, and he said “well, we have a young staff”. And walked away. Very disappointed in service overall. We will not be returning.
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing experience.
Excellent rating in all areas: authentic Italian food, a warm and inviting place to dine with friendly service, varied Italian menu choices.
