Mozza Mia - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
The food was very good, the meatballs as an appetizer was the best, followed by the Lemon Chicken, and the Caprese salad was bland. It seems to lack any salt or decent olive oil. It was almost as someone forgot to season it.
The waiter was nice, but at the table way too often, as if we were being rushed to order. I do not think it was his intention, but my friend and I were in conversation a few times and he interrupted to see if we were ready to order, any questions etc. Again, he was very good, jut at the table too much
Overall, decent experience, I will be back.
We did not have pizza. We each ordered a pasta dish. Both were delicious! Service was a little slow but when we each ordered a second glass of wine the server said it was "on the house". That really wasn't necessary but was much appreciated. Overall, a very nice dinner.
We love this place, but received the wrong item in our deep dish pizza. Sausage was added to a spinach and mushroom pizza. Given that we waited for 30 mn and and would have waited another 30 mn for a replacement, we just didn't have the time. Our server was fabulous, our disappointment was that the manager never bothered to check in or apologize, this should be standard stuff for a place like this. We got a discount on our pizza, 50 % not including our additional toppings. I think this should have been handled better, either comp the pizza, or offer a discount on the the next visit, and more importantly a manager should have taken the time to speak with us. We like the venue, but were a bit let down by the lack of concern. To stress, our waiter was great, but a manager, on a mellow night, surely has to check in.
Our server was fantastic! He was quick to ask if we were celebrating a special occasion, and then he honored our son who was shipping out for boot camp in the US Navy the next morning. He was very friendly and wanted to connect with us much deeper than on the level of "how are you?" We felt honored and special.
We had a good meal at MM and will go back. First impressions were just alright... We arrived early for our reservation (30-40 minutes) due to unusually light traffic. We were told we'd need to wait a bit for a spot.... No worries I get it however, they seated 3-4 walk-ins before us. I had to go back and ask why that was... we were seated right away after that. Once seated everything was good. No grand slam home runs but food and service were both quite good -very near next level but not perfect.
A group of 10 of us went after going out for an event. We were able to get seated well before our reservation time and overall the service was really good.
In terms of food, I felt the deep dish pizza was very good and we loved the mozzarella platter. We commented that we could have eaten nothing but that...it was that good.
The only downsides were that there isn't a really good place to wait when it's crowded on a Saturday night in the winter. We made it work but it's hard to move around if you want to go have a drink at the bar before dinner. The other complaint is that it's really loud when full. There's 'energetic' and then there's the case where it's so loud that you can barely hear those sitting next to you.
Overall we'll definitely be back because they food is excellent.
Reservations don't mean anything at Mozza Mia. For the second time in a row we made reservations and showed up on time. Then had to sit on the benches for 20 minutes.
Our waitress was very poor. She never once checked back with us to see if we needed another drink or anything else, like some Parmesan cheese.
We asked for some bread with our entrees. We never received it, but it was charged on our bill. In our group of four, one of the entrees was cold and one was missing a bunch of stuff.
Of course we couldn't ask for any of this robe rectified because the waitress never came by our table.
This is an extraordinarily overrated restaurant that I would suggest you avoid. There are others nearby that are much better.
