Mozaic Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding food ... had the red deer osso buck and the crab cakes.
Crab cakes served with buerre Blanc with jam on side. Out of this world.
Both were terrific along with homemade rolls.
Service cud be a little better. Our server asked if we wanted more bread. We answered yes n had to flag down another server to get it .
Owners were excellent.. our best meal while in Sarasota.
The presentation of our entrees was exceptional. Not only did it look amazing, the flavours were outstanding. Great salad and appetizer as well!! We will definitely go back to try another item on the menu. We met the chef and owners.....a great way to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. Thank you for a fantastic evening!
While we enjoyed Moziac in the past, recently the quality of the food has slipped.
At our recent dinner on a Saturday evening at 6PM, when we checked in for our reservations for two, we were challenged at the main desk that we made reservations for four. They insisted that we made reservations for four and though I apologized a few times that I may have made a mistake when booking on Open table, they seemed upset and continually stated that it was for four. Unfortunately, I did not have my phone with me to check my Open Table confirmation. However, when I returned to my car after dinner, I did check the confirmation and the reservation was for TWO.
Upon ordering, the Ahi Tuna on the main menu was not available. This was at 6:20 PM. Why didn't waiter tell us this when we first sat down? We order one of specials for the day, Mahi Mahi for each of us at $32 per. Of course we expected an excellent tasting dinner since of the price and it was a special. The fish was bland, no taste at all.We were disappointed.
Upon leaving,we overheard the waiter tell another customer that they did not have the lobster dish that was on the menu that he was ordering.
A disappointing evening again at this restaurant .
This was my second visit to Mozaic. Our first visit was so good, that we had to return. The first time was in August 2017 and we enjoyed the three course dinner. It was reasonably priced. The presentations were artful. We were disappointed in October because the three course dinner was not available at the reduced price. However, we did enjoy the dinner that was scallops for me and tuna for my daughter. We kept the price within our budget by ordering a main course only. Service was excellent.
Much improved, more centered menu. Moderate portions of high quality, creative plates. Nice list of apps, entrees. Perfect well-coordinated service. Prices so far have avoided the big bumps seen at other fine dining places. 6 ounce pours in big glasses were the obvious misses.
Definitely on the rotation for another visit.
What a wonderful experience it was dining at Mozaic. My husband and I had not been there for a while but we will be back soon again. Every plate that came to the table was delicious, creative and beautiful. The salad was so fresh and the gazpacho was the best I have ever had. The service was lovely - thoughtful, polite and timely. The summer special with three courses for a set price was a great value for the quality of the cuisine. The whole experience at Mosaic was top notch.
Wonderful dinner! Every item we ordered was fabulous! Appetizers, we tried the tuna poke, the crab cakes, goat these board, the panazella salad and the vegan egg rolls and they were delicious!
For dinner we had the duck on a bed of risotto and the surf and turf, awesome as well. Duck is a very hard dish to get it right and it was amazing!
Wine selection is very much alive, John keeps the list with very new and exciting flavors always perfectly combined with the established ones as well.
Jeff our waiter was sensational, very knowledgeable of the menu, on point with recommendations and as a bonus, a great sense of humor!
Food was fresh and very well prepared. Good choices. Service was attentive but not annoying. Intimate type of setting but casual and not fussy. Took advantage of the $32 prix fixed menu which was an excellent value with many choices. Would definitely recommend.
We were very pleased with this find from appetizers to desserts. We loved the unique iron skillet presentation for the goat cheese skillet appetizer which we would have again. Mozaic chef Ash came to Sarasota from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He brings with him the spirit of the mountains to the sea. The Maple Leaf Duck breast with the cranberry port reduction was also wonderfully delicious. We recommend you settle in and make room for dessert. My husband is a sampler of creme brûlée world wide and the Mozaic creme brûlée flavors were very tasty indeed. When you eat here you will see why they have received several awards.
SURPRISED, DELIGHTED, AND ALL EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED! We dined on Saturday, 19 August as a part of a weekend getaway from Tampa to celebrate our anniversary, a birthday, and an opportunity to have some 'down time.' Have looked at Mosaic when in Sarasota before but timing or party size never worked out. This time it did. What a total unexpected gem--and a definite 'return here!' restaurant. Let's break it down: (1) The proprietress left a confirmation voicemail in the most pleasant accent, with a voice that radiates warmth and friendliness; (2) we showed up 20 mins early planning to sit at the bar--and yet the hostess didn't bat an eye and was not at all fazed as she worked to get our table ready a tad early; (3)the atmosphere is what I call 'unique local'--it's cozy, somewhat quiet, with great local art on the walls--but it is NOT remotely 'super polished' in that 'too shiny and off-putting' sort of way--all of which says 'authentic' about Mosaic; (4) the wine list, while brief, has some excellent selections and values! (5) service was understated but attentive, and David is wonderfully sociable (but a quick note--he did seem a little stretched and there were a few periods of time that seemed a littttttttle long--but it allowed for conversation!)--and he knows the menu quite well. We opted for the terrifically-priced prix fixe dinner menu which is an outstanding value; (6) the food is...extraordinary...gorgeous....flavor-packed....and just sublime. The mussels appetizer had (no joke) something like 30 mussels in it...the cobb salad was perfectly balanced. Our entrees (the two fish specials) were 180 degrees from each other but both remarkably simple--yet complex--in a true palate-pleasing way. And desserts were insanely good (the coconut tart should NOT be missed...!) The chocolates were a lovely parting touch as well. And the best parts? Ash (the chef) who stopped by a few times is super-engaging. And the value for our meal: superb. GO. SOON!
