Always a great experience with great staff and service.
Never
Great place for a business lunch, the ambiance, food and staff are amazing !
Sinon belle ambiance.
The place is very nice and great location but the service was terrible. Ordered a salmon and avocado salad with no avocados, didnt receive any water and had to ask another waitress for a drink because the waiter didnt come back for a long time.
Love this place ! I bring new friends there each time I go and they adopt it. Food is delicious, service is always A1. Will be back soon
Moyen comme expérience... bruyant, service très moyen! Bref tout est sérieusement moyen...
Everything was really enjoyable except my tacos. But, I'd go back to try something else because the atmosphere and service was that good.
The only complaint is that the service was very slow, diners surrounding us received their food before us - we received our food one hour after we arrived - we mentioned that we had to go back to work. When we called the waiter over to inquire he advised us that at the time our food was ordered, there was a problem with the system - he should have advised us, we should not have to ask.
I usually enjoy dining at Moxie’s. Probably a one off but service was slow (tables around us arriving later were served before us). The food was however very good. Had to flag down server to pay and already had our coats on.....consistency in customer service needs to be a focus.
Great place to watch the game while enjoying the food. Annie was the best! She guided us thru the menu and beverage options. Her recommendations were spot on. I'll be back when in Montreal.
Food variety is good, but the quality is not spectacular - could be improved, decent drinks menu, nice ambiance, nice wait staff.
Hostess at the front was a little blunt about telling us to go upstairs (we had never been there before so we didn’t know how the establishment was laid out). Waitress was very nice and food was great. We were seated in a secluded area which was nice but also felt like we got forgotten at times.
Best thing: it was free....because
We waited 50 minutes for our burgers and steaks...fries and burgers were cold. They took the cold food and brought us hot food 20 minutes later. I had asked gluten free bread and half way through I realized it wasn’t same bun. :(
We've oftened gone here and always been satisfied with the food and service but we had a completely different experience this time. We were a small group of 6 and most of us had issues. We'll usually get our food very quick even on the lunch rush but we waited a long time this time and the food arrived mostly cold. On 6 plates we got 2 cold steaks that were overcooked, a luke warm burger and sorta hot pasta. THe chicken plate was overcooked and dry and one person asked for no cheese and had cheese on her salad. We didn't have the time to resend the orders but it wasn't a great experience.
Unfortunately, our experience this time wasn't great.
Nice place, good food well priced
Well located downtown
I received an email stating that I did not attend this reservation when in fact I did and now asked to give a rating; overall good service and good food
I feel that the construction outside and inside is impacting the restaurant and the amount of people there.
It was empty (nobody is fault). I dont recall hearing music either.
Menu minimized ( compared to Toronto's) therefore the fish I specifically went for was no longer there. :(
And drinks were extremely weak. Not even sure there was alcohol in them.
Personally I will lot be going back to this location.
Very good! Lights went out but they nice and fixed jt right way
What else?
Overall the ambiance was great, our server was attentive and fun. The 1/2 price bottles of wine was a great deal but the food we ordered did not meet our expectations. Fish tacos and street tacos were dry and not very flavorful. Pizza was overdone.
Great bartender, good food, good service.....from a regular customer....
We go to restaurants to eat well, feel welcome, and come away with good memories. Rarely has a restaurant hit all three points as well as Moxie's did on my recent visit.
We were a party of nine people, and we informed the restaurant that we needed to leave by 7:10 to catch a show. From the start, the staff made sure that we would be served expeditiously, but in no way did that compromise the food.
One of the highlights of our meal was the lettuce wrap, which was outstanding. It inspired me to go home and try to see if I could re-create it (Don't worry, Moxies; I couldn't). I also enjoyed my main dish vindaloo (with soy protein in place of the beef). My wife loved her main course, as did everyone else in our party. Moxie's manages to serve an amazing variety of food--pizzas, steak, fish, Asian-inspired dishes, French cuisine, Mexican--and get them all right.
Most impressive of all, however, was not just the food but the extremely solicitous service. Here, I have to call out our waitress, Madi. Moxie's--Please know you have a gem here. She was attentive to all of our needs, took the orders from all nine of us easily, and made sure we were served in the time frame we had laid out. And she was consistently positive and outgoing with everyone in our group.
My only regret is that, because we needed to get out quickly to our show, we had to eat more quickly than we'd like. And we didn't get a chance to try dessert. But rest assured, the next time this New Yorker returns to Montreal, Moxie's will be my first stop.
Good food. Great ambiance good service. Just a little pricey for a 16 ounce beer
I do understand that on a Friday night it's very busy and the empmoyees are doing their best to provide service but they were clearly overmhelmed when et came. Still very good food and ambiance.
Very terrible service!! We walked in and found the door girl sleeping with her feet on the sofa. The Barman/Server (short guy with gel in his hair) VERY bad service!!!! Forgot half our order, AND then had the nerve to rush us out because they wanted to leave at 12! I put in a report with MAPAQ because my food was not only badly prepared, but it came still breathing when I asked for it to be medium/well! Dirty plate, missing shrimp. Terrible. Texting while making drinks. Shall I go on? Nothing like the Toronto locations! Just shut down.
The food was AMAZING !!! We looked forward to coming back. We loved the chips & guacamole.
I had invited 4 clients. Of the 4 clients 2 of them had to return their plates. The reasons for the return: One of the steaks was cold, the other was rare when the client clearly asked medium rare.
It was not a good experience
Plats trop dispendieux. Les verres étaient sales. Une chance que la serveuse était sympatique.
Moxie's always delivers and I'm happy I was able to visit in Montreal!
Cena estuvo deliciosa
We made reservations, went all the way there and it was closed.
We had to walk two flights of stairs to get to a very loud dining room. I asked if there was a more quiet area and we got taken to the back. It was still not as quiet as I would have liked. One of our orders was not not completed correctly but we got a discount.
Really poor service. We told the waiter twice we were ready to order but he wouldn't come back. Other tables that got there after us were served before us. Asked twice for mayo for fries, to no avail. 2h+ plus lunch. I understand the restaurant is busy in the Holiday season but it doesn't make sense. Will not return.
I ate at Moxie's twice, and it was delicious both times!
I usually like this place quite a bit. Today fell a bit below their usual high standards.
It was okay. Because it was lunch rush hour; everything was done pretty quickly: we were asked for our orders a few minutes after we sat, food came a few minutes later. What was nice is that we were not rushed to leave. I'll definitely come back for lunch!
Excellent restaurant. Unfortunately our server seemed disinterested ... taking a short cut across the table rather than walking around to serve and clear., etc, etc...
