Moxie's Grill & Bar - Plano
We went to watch the Cowboy game, so we sat in the bar. We were excited at first because it was very nice looking and TVs were good viewing. Our waitress was nice enough, but not very attentive. The Apps were OK, but the main dishes were not good. They had absolutely NO seasoning. Burgers were dry and steak was not juicy even though it was Med Rare. We decided to try dessert to see if it was better. We got what was labeled as Toffee Pudding, but it was cake with a little sauce. Again, no Bueno. We sooo wanted to like this place :(
I personally will be avoiding this place until they get the kinks worked out. I thought interior was really cold with a constant draft in the booth / dining area. Kids meals are $9.50 which is on the high side - includes drink and dessert. I got the open faced Flat Iron steak sandwhich. Meat was poor quality - tough and lacking flavor. Manager comped dessert for us when I told him - also offered up an alternative menu item. Kids generally liked their meal. Partner liked her blackened chicken burger. Service was uneven. Very attentive in the beginning but after the meal less so. I kept refilling my water from my kids glasses.
Also kids drinks were served in bar glasses instead of kids cups -- was OK for us but not for younger kids.
There are so many new and great foodie places in the area that I won't lose much sleep giving this one a rest for now.
Cowboys game was going on so it was pretty packed. Was seated quickly due to reservation
I was say describe it as a place with good food, but below average service. Its hard to tell if the place is very unorganized operationally, or we just had a below average waitress. The services was slow, and we had to intiate everything with the waitress. She seemed at times if this was her first night waiting tables. The food was good, so at least that part went right. For the prices you pay, hopefully this place evolves a bit and puts a focus on services rather than just trying to hire attractive waitress that are not very strong servers.
We had a great server Jo. She was warm and friendly while juggling many tables. The food was good and the dessert was even better. We plan to return.
Date was disappointed in NYE-only menu restriction but bar scene has her wanting to try it again. I was never able to get a decent gin martini--tried Tanqueray, Bombay. but they all tasted like New Amsterdam--too citrus y. My steak had good flavor
Went to Moxie's for NYE and had their pre fixe menu. It was a great value--4 courses for only $49. I would have given 5 stars for food except that the pot stickers came out a little cold.
Wish our server had been a little more attentive; we had to wait a while between receiving our soup/salad and ordering our appetizer.
New Year’s celebration
Always a treat
The host was superb. But when we ask for baby back ribs they run out of them! Big disappointment. The lettuce wraps were great!
The food was really good. Great fresh flavors. The music was a bit too loud. The service was ok, my hubby ordered the tuna poke for me, after our waitress took the order she came back to let us know that they where out. The staff should know these things. My hubby ordered a burger with sweet potatoes fries however it came with a baked potato instead. Eventually they brought his sweet potatoes. We waited a long time for our appetizers. When the check came the baked potato was added to our check. It was a dollar charged however this shouldn't never happen. The drinks took a long time to come and we didn't get refills on our waters. My husband is a good tipper needles to say he left the minimum this time. Too bad the food was good but service totally ruined the experience.
Surprised at lack of decorum/ professionalism of staff. Doesn’t seem to meet other ambiance.
Waitress clicking pen entire time she talked to us about our order. (Irritated?)
Mgr (?) checking out a waitress at a small table across from wait station near wine room. Counting cash, settling up receipts shouldn't be done in another place, out of the customers’ view?
Nachos were poorly made with skimpy toppings. Server forgot a salad at our table then it finally arrived after the entrees. Server disappeared after our food was served (we wanted to order another round) until he popped back up with our checks. I’ve always had a good experience at the uptown location so I was disappointed. Wouldn’t go back, too many other good options in the area
The restaurant is beautiful but the food is not outstanding and the wait staff definitely need more training
The atmosphere is very nice as is the staff. The food was not that great. Our Poutine was cold so we sent it back. The second batch was a little better. Two of our party ordered side salads which came out with the food instead of before. I’ll let them slide a little on that because we did not specify that we wanted it first. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners but my steak was very dry. I hope they get the bugs worked out because this place has potential to be a fun place.
Food was excellend and our server “Jo” rocked it !
Was surprised by how empty the restaurant was on a Saturday night.
What a nice find. Great food stellar staff and cute venue. Will be back for more. The chicken pasta and the nachos were flavor packed. Come and see this team of well trained professionals.
May need a little more close up parking. However, the decor was beautiful and the atmosphere was great. The calamari was delicious. Not so crazy about the blackened chicken tacos but the sweet potato fries were good. Also loved the white brownie ala mode
Birthday lunch. Great food.
Taylor was a wonderful server - food was terrific and we had a great time.
Loved the decor and set up. Food was good and drinks but I thought it was a bit over priced.
DO NOT GO HERE. The service was ridiculous, the appetizers were okay. The Manager tried to make us pay for food we had boy eaten and wouldn't let us leave. This is a new restaurant and several items listed on the menu were not available. Do not waste your time or money. It's overpriced, prejudice, and horrible service. Also, you are better going anywhere else but here. I WILL NOT EVER RETURN. PLEASE DON'T.
We visited Moxie’s for my bff’s birthday. I honestly decided on Moxie’s simply because they offered reservations through another app I use. Boy am I glad we found this gem. The ambiance/atmosphere of the restaurant was very lively and welcoming. The host immediately greeted us and had a table waiting for us upon arrival. Our server was awesome. The menu variety had us wanting everything. We ordered a couple of different appetizers and meals and shared them to get a good variety. Everything was delicious. It’s hard to say what our favorite dish was but if forced to pick one, I’d say The Tuna Poke’. The fresh tuna with the crisp Nori chips was a delicious, texture delight :) Moxie’s is doing it right!
Good sports bar. Food tasted very good but was a little pricy for what you get. Our service was good.
Our waitress was a bit distracted by her friends.
Great food and service! I’ll definitely go back.
One word explains it all. Please see my Google review. I actually posted a few photos
Fun place, has a lot of potential. Service was a little slow at first, but then picked up.
I wouldn’t make this a ‘go-to’ for favorite places to hang out.
Only negative is the parking situation. Service was a little slow on the nite we were there. Food very good but not 5 star worthy. Very neat concept
Food and service were outstanding.
It was a rainy day, so we are excited to go back and enjoy the patio.
Great atmosphere, wonderful food, and fantastic service. Just what we’re looking for when having dinner with friends!
I did not know what to expect and the ambiance was pretty awesome. I was alarmed because there were several police in the front as well as a fire truck and ambulance. Apparently my group and I had just missed a fight inside of the establishment, which did not look good for my first time ever. The drinks were just ok, I wasn't overly impressed with them. The food was good. I ordered the Chicken Marsala plate and it was tasty. It tasted better than it looked. It was seasoned well. After my party had been there a while there was live music from a DJ. It was pretty cool but it made a quiet dining evening extremely loud but it wasn't too bothered by it because I was happy to be away from my children. Overall, I would visit again, I would try the brunch next time.
We had a great time! Yummy eclectic food and great service! The chef even came out to talk to us!
Great service, great food. Patio was awesome. Inside the restaurant was loud, was actually glad we sat outside where it was a little quieter.
They definitely are having startup issues. Request a table for 8 (seniors) and we were given bar height tables in the bar area! It went down hill from there. Service was slow, orders were wrong, food quality was average (mostly sandwiches) and billing a wrong and a mess! A total disaster.....
Made reservations for my wedding anniversary for brunch. I have a fave dish from here so my hubby called several times and left messages to ask if it could be served during brunch. No return calls, so unfortunately could not have the dish I’d wished for. Overall, good experience. No attention to the Anniversary that we noted in our reservation either, no biggie but would have been nice.
Restaurant was a bit loud had to shout to talk to our friends.
My friends meal was over cooked but he ordered another item which he loved.
We had a fun evening except for the loud background music.
Menu and food were great. Service was a pretty slow, but very friendly. Biggest complaint was the music volume, which was set to aggressive levels. We were a party of four at a large booth, and conversations were a challenge.
