Moxie's Grill & Bar - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
I've been to Moxies several times before and the service has been ok, but I kid you not, this was the worst service I have ever had anywhere. Our server messed up about 5 orders, then we never saw her for more than 30 minutes, then finally she literally just left. Never seen anything like it.
Service and food was great. We went for NYE dinner and the 3 course menu for $60 was a great value. The only negative feedback would be that they ran out of Champagne and had to go buy more at the store. Our reservation was at 9pm and already out of Champagne...on NYE.
Attire is not enforced whatsoever. People were in t shirts and flip flops. Valet is also NOT complimentary and actually charges a high fee. They validate but again not enough to cover the parking. Not worth it! Way better places in dallas- especially uptown.
Horrible experience, $10 ripoff valet, did not mention that part when I parked, wait staff dressed like hookers and clueless about everything., management arrogant for no reason (this place sucks)The hostess I checked in with did not remember my name 5 minutes later. Ordered a steak sandwich medium and it was served cold and raw in the middle. The other steak was cooked to resemble leather. There are plenty of places to waste money definitely never returning to this excuse for a fine dining restaurant .
This place is super loud! It’s better in the dinning area but still loud. The food is good but nothing to write home about. Our server was nice but busy so not really his fault. We had appetizers for dinner and they were all good. I guess the food could be called better than average bar food.
The food was decent, the bar seemed like a lively spot, too. We were seated near a door that was frequently accessed by restaurant staff so the cool draft every so often was a bit irritating, otherwise it's a good spot and I'd recommend it to others. There is a sort of awkward back entrance from the commercial building lobby, but that is not an attended entrance it seems, so I'd recommend some signage or some way of directing people to the correct entrance so their first impression of the restaurant isn't them standing in the doorway waiting for someone to seat them.
It’s a very nice restaurant. Great atmosphere, not too loud and service was very fast. Never had to wait for our waiter to take our order or get the check for us. Food was ok. The lobster and shrimp linguine was a bit bland and the linguine was a bit too soft. The lettuce wrap was very good.
Nice outdoor dining area, great for groups, complementary parking if you parked in the self parking garage, which is not too far away; just next door.
Moxie's was fabulous! I highly recommend it! Hot spot prior to a Stars game and just minutes to the arena. Exciting environment with fantastic food, excellent friendly wait staff/managers and child friendly. I used Open Table to make reservation and it was quick, easy to use and effective. Will be back soon!
First (and last) experience at Moxies
Grossly disappointed with entire experience.
At 230pm, we were told that items from lunch menu like sushi cones, and oven roasted free run chicken were on the lunch menu and therefore not available until 3pm.
Granted it was TX - OU weekend, INSANELY LOUD BAR SPILLS INTO DINING ROOM
They only hire beautiful staff but that does not translate to good service. Service is always off. Been several times because I like the patio. We sat for 10 minutes with the bartender with his back to us on the phone. I finally got his attention and he was great after that. We were the only ones at the outside bar so that is pretty sad. Staff is always pretty clueless. Everything else is great.
My waitress was Victoria and she was terrific. Service was efficient and very friendly and courteous. We were not kept waiting on our food for too long. Our waters were always refilled quickly. Great experience and will definitely come to this establishment mainly because of the service and friendliness. Food was good and cocktails were made near to perfection.
