MOXIE Food + Drink
This is one of our favorite places to dine. Never disappoints! Food only gets better and better with each visit! We love the ambience and the staff are so welcoming and service is excellent!
Food was really good, everything made from scratch, old fashioneds were really good too. Will be back for sure
Always outstanding! Theresa did a great job as our server and the food was delicious. Definitely one of our favorites.
Food was outstanding, portion size was too large in my opinion. Would prefer you to reduce size and charge less for entrée.
Pleasant evening, food was great, we sat at the bar as our table was not ready and ended up staying there. Everything was simple, easy going and made for a great night.
Food very good, priced fairly, cocktail good and fair also. "House" wine excessive price ($11)--was/is there a less expensive option--weren't told. All in all, would definitely come back.
Seated immediately-attentive timely service-delicious
Late lunch/very early dinner, therefore nice and quiet, otherwise this restaurant can be quite noisy.
We find the the service and food to always be enjoyable. We will continue to return to Moxie. It is a neighborhood gem.
Moxie has a cozy, urban atmosphere and good food. Their appetizers are better than their main dishes. My husband got the pasta Bolognese this last visit, and the beef was fatty and grisly. Not worth the money. I’ve had a few main dishes and always go back to ordering appetizers. Overall, a fun place that’s nice to have so close.
Enjoyed the restaurant
Very disappointed with the food. This place was recommended by a friend but I'll never go back. I spoke to the waitress about the over cooked and tough entree, (incidentally, both of us were unhappy) ,
but no effort was made to satisfy our table.
Save your money!
I thought it was just an okay visit. Really good for lunch but went for dinner. Pork chop was very salty. Pasta was a little grainy. But good service and like to support local.
Yes. Nice menu, excellent service, very good food. The service was attentive, not rushed. The choice or wines and wines by the glass was not long but offered a nice selection. Desserts excellent and accomodating kitchen.
Had a delicious brunch but service missed the mark. Specials were not provided, check was not correct, and credit card was not returned until another server found it.
My family has eaten at Moxie's three times now. It's been a great experience. The food was good although some of the portions are a little big. It depends on what you order. The last two times were on a Saturday night which can be rather noisy if the restaurant is a full capacity (tables and bar). Still, the staff is very friendly and the food is good. We will go back the next time everyone is in town.
Great waitress, who suggest a delicious drink. The table for 2 was close proximity to the other table, but met nice people.
We had a table by the front window which was pleasant and quiet. The chicken Gorgonzola sandwich was delicious and the arugula salad was very good. A nice wine selection. I would highly recommend
I’ve been there for dinner many times and enjoyed it
first time for brunch and service was very slow
English muffins were cooked on a grill so all you could taste was grill marks which was odd
We were disappointed
This restaurant has been highly-recommend by several friends, so we had to try it. I loved the fact that I could make a reservation using OpenTable directly or thru MOXIE's website. We were dining with a friend and arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation time; not a problem, we were seated immediately inside. A nice touch was the small chalkboard on the table that welcomed us with my first name (not the standard 'reserved' sign). It was busy Saturday night, with diners also sitting at tables outside. Our waiter served us quickly - took our drink orders and explained the specials. My husband and our friend are beer drinkers, so it was nice to have 2 options on tap from a local brewery (not just beer in bottles). We ordered appetizers - stuffed mushrooms (outstanding) and shrimp cocktail (very fresh and chilled perfectly). My husband and I both ordered the Salmon special which was served with blackened shrimp and served over herb pasta. My husband usually orders Salmon at an appropriate restaurant, but it is not my favorite choice of seafood. I have to say that I really enjoyed the presentation; I would definitely try MOXIE's salmon again. We also had dessert - a very nice Crème Brulee. We were very impressed with this restaurant. The hostess was pleasant and personable, our waiter was attentive but did not make us feel rushed, and the food was outstanding. As we were getting ready to leave, the hostess stopped by our table to make sure we enjoyed our meal and thanked us for dining at MOXIE. We will definitely be back.
The food is always wonderful but the service was exceptionally poor. There was more employees than customers and I still
Had to go get my own drink refill, I had to inquire about any specials, and no matter how much eye contact you made with employees they looked away. I couldn’t wait to pay and leave. Will not being coming here for our anniversary next year. Greatly disappointed you don’t pay $$$ just to be treated like your dollar doesn’t matter.
Service wasn’t very good did not get what we ordered complete order was not there. Another server after waiting a long time helped us out he was so nice
Contemporary atmosphere. Great service. Delicious lunch.
Excellent food served expertly in a contemporary atmosphere. You can tell the owners care about the experience - and that's everything in a restaurant. Thanks for the experience - we'll be back!
Everything was wonderful, however, it was very bizarre that they charged $1.00 for a slice of bread - odd......Seems a little.........cheap. Ironically, after we left, both of us had the same reaction.
Our second time here this year. The staff is upbeat and friendly. Our entrees were excellent at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back again soon!
I love this neighborhood restaurant. Great food and drinks, fun atmosphere, great family run business. We happened to have a server that wasn't too sharp or too attentive, which impacted our overall enjoyment of the meal.
After being seated and waiting for our server for about 15 minutes, I asked the hostess about the delay. The hostess, was apologetic and incredulous. Our server showed up shortly after, but was very clearly not familiar with basic food items or the menu - mispronouncing ingredients and generally seeming unaware of recipe prep or menu choices. While she could have overcome some of this with personality and attentiveness - this didn't happen. Our food arrived well after the neighboring table (seated after us) was served. Dessert was not offered, nor were another round of drinks, etc. Just not quite up to the excellent service we are accustomed to at this great little restaurant.
We'll be back, and know it will not disappoint in the future.
All good = food, service, drinks and ambiance!
I ordered the white bean soup which was delicious and the chicken salad. My husband had the flat bread. We had a nice lunch and service was excellent. This is a consistently good restaurant.
Even though we’ve lived within walking distance since before they opened, we finally got a night out and decided to walk over and enjoy dinner. This is a place not to be missed. Literally every item on the menu appealed to us. The freshness and presentation of the entire meal was outstanding. The service was impeccable! We will definitely be back.
We have eaten there several times and never been disappointed.
Service was excellent. Tuna was a touch over cooked and tough which was the only negative of our experience. We will go back for sure.
Service was wonderful, Michelle understood the leisurely pace of our group and respected it. No premature swooping in to take unfinished plates. We essentially made a group dinner out of the delicious appetizers/small plates. The rearranged seating and outside service makes it easier to talk and not have the feeling of being part of the group at the next table.
Only issue, and it’s one at most restaurants, is noise, and with the additional space outside it’s better than most. I do wish conversation while eating becomes a priority and not an afterthought at restaurants.
Moxies always delivers on their food and on their service. The menu offers options for just about any taste and the brunch menu is especially nice. The addition of outdoor seating makes it a lovely place for a snack, a nice glass of wine, or a meal. Kudos to you for continued great offerings.
Love eating their delicious and healthy food! One of my favorites!
It is the best Salmon I have ever had. The coating , and sauces were delectable. The risotto was so delicious!!!
Reservation system was great, easy and I got a call back confirm! Immediate seating when we got in, server was great as was the food. Great addition to dining in Milwaukee.
Always great. Food and service
The food! The service! Everything was fabulous. We are visiting the MKE area from Mpls and haven’t been disappointed in our food choices yet, but MOXIE was our best dinner by far! If you haven’t been, GO!!
nice restaurant! outdoor seating was beautiful, i got the roasted vegetable salad and for $12 it was a couple spears of asparagus, one tomato and some lettuce. not quite worth it. also weird barbie dolls framed in bathroom
