Mowry & Cotton
Book your next event with us
Visited The Phoenician after a long time. Mowry &Cotton is housed in the same location where The Phoenician used to have their very upscale Weekend champagne brunch till the money losing proposition got too expensive.
The much shortened menu of the casual Mowry and Cotton restaurant was very good. The prices were a bargain, the food was good as the very best ingredients were used and the service was excellent. A shout out to Austen who took care of us. Also the fro-mosas were an excellent deal - 3 for $18. Throughly enjoyed the 2 1/2 hrs we spent there. Definitely will do a repeat visit next month!
Big group. The food and ambiance was phenomenal. The music was a little loud for Saturday lunch. The service was a little sparse. Overall a great experience.
Amazing meal from start to finish, excellent service, food and wine.
The Phoenician really knows how to do service right, from the moment you drive up. They making knowing and using your name a priority. Our server, Samantha, was delightful, friendly but not overbearing, attentive but not hovering. The food was perfect, with the lamb tacos being a standout, not to mention the buttermilk buns. The hanger steak and grilled shrimp were delicious. Samantha even comped our desserts since it was our anniversary. It was a really lovely and memorable evening.
Excellent Pheasant. Service was very attentive. We highly reccomend the restaurant.
We sat at our table over 45 mins before we had our starter/appetizer. The writer did not smile or refill our waters. Our food was prepared incorrectly with the second courses and entres’s. We were not compensated for their several mistakes and lack of service at our table. The restaurant wasn’t busy but they were too busy to give quality service and prepare our food correctly. I would not recommend this place if you are anticipating quality service.
Super impressed with the quality of the food. It was very quiet for a Tuesday night, very few people there. Service was here and there, likely busy prepping for a busier time. They were courteous and knowledgeable.
This was my 4th visit and I was met with the same quality of service and food that has kept me coming back.
Our third visit. Menu is always varied and interesting. The service level is commensurate with the property and always excellent.
The food was amazing and our server was friendly and very helpful with explaining the menu items.
I am not impressed, this was my second time to give the restaurant a chance. Service was good but the meal was mediocre. Probably will not be back. Drinks on the happy hour menu were very sweet and had very little alcohol.
Fabulous food with an incredible wait staff!! Every single time!!!
Made our birthday celebration special ! Great restaurant !
a great place to get a snack and a drink. Great quality food, and they have summer specials/happy hour all day. 4 drinks, 2 flatbreads, and we were out the door for $50 bucks.
The food is amazing! Staff very pleasant. Service overall is slow, yet the food is so good you will come back.
We've been 5 times in 4 days. Like I mentioned the staff are very nice. Our server this morning at breakfast was our shining star, Christian is amazing! On top of things, clearly stands out from the other servers we've had. He should help out with training as he knows what he is doing. Thank you Christian!
Very pleasant surprise, great food, great service and a very relaxed atmosphere at a great price
Great food but the real star of the restaurant was the service by our waitress and staff never let our water run empty and who gave us great recommendation.
Food and service were very good!
Great date night
The Phonecian used to be a “special” place for dinner. ...just didn’t seem that way this time. The service was ridiculously slow and staff seemed sloppy and not very attentive.
Great job as always
Service and food was outstanding and creative. Ask for Samantha she was great!!!
Weird experience. Brown lettuce in our salad. Sea bass listed as shareable portion was very small. Then our waiter and busboy seemed to quit in the middle of dinner. We had to flag down another server to finish with our meal. We never saw our server again and when we went to speak to someone at the host stand, no one was there either. Expect better from the Phoenician.
Much better experience than we expected. The beets appetizer was excellent. The halibut was ok. The wine list is very expensive and prices were 3 or 4 times retail. We enjoyed the experience but avoid resort dining because the prices are not in line with other non resort restaurants. Living in Phoenix full time and hoping some resorts start gearing themselves more for locals.
Mowry and Cotton is getting to be one of our favorite "go to" restaurants in The Valley! This time we enjoyed eating on the terrace, it was beautiful The service is superb and the dinner choices are a bit different than most restaurants but really delicious. My wife had the hanger steak and I had the halibut for our entrees. For appetizers we shared the charred beets and also the tomatoes and burrata. This is a must try if you haven't been there yet!
My husband and I dined here for restaurant week, and we are glad we did! I had the heirloom tomato salad and my husband had the charred beets, and both were excellent - great flavors in both. I had the halibut for my main course and it was oh so very excellent - not dry and seasoned just right. My husband had the hanger steak and he said it, too, was terrific - not dry at all and also seasoned perfectly. We finished our meal with deserts: I had the whoopie pies and they were very good. My husband had the lemon meringue, and he said it was also very good. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Mowry and Cotton!
My 55th Birthday was amazing here...
Our AZ Restaurant Week choice!
Me and my friend were there for Restaurant Week and from the absolutely amazing service, (our server was so good for us) the relaxed & luxurious ambiance, to the presentation of the food and of course the smells and taste was so unbelievably out of this world! I chose this restaurant because the food combinations are so creative that when I saw this I knew I had to try it! And I’m so glad I did! The Chef is truly talented, I’m a home cook, so I really appreciated how everything was curated to perfection! Definitely coming back here again!
Four of us tried this for Arizona Restaurant Week. Beautiful setting and the weather cooperated so that we could dine on the patio. First, there were two spots of bird droppings on the wood table and no placemats. We asked that they be cleaned off.
When our appetizers arrived, the wait staff had to ask each one of us who had what, so they knew where to place them! They were very ordinary, and when the staff took our plates, they put our used fork and knife back on the table to be used again. We were expecting clean utensils, but no, they wanted us to use the same ones. Remember, the table wasn't too clean to begin with!
We all had the same entree, Halibut with a peri peri sauce and vegetables. The fish was cooked perfectly, but so salty, we all complained. Some of us ate very little.
Dessert was not good at all. We tried the whoopee pies and lemon meringue pie. Of the two, the lemon pie was best. The whoopee pies were stale tasting.
This could be a lovely dining destination if some training were done for the wait staff. Besides the food being below standards for a top resort, we had to worry about asking for new utensils, more iced tea and directing our food to the correct diner. Very disappointed. Nothing was removed from our bill for the salty fish but a glass of champagne was brought out at the end of our meal, gratis. Not enough of a gesture.
We started off with a great cocktail
At the main bar and Mandy was terrific.
Once we got to the restaurant all went downhill. Our server was adequate and considering that the dining room was nearly empty this was a surprise. The menu sounded great for restaurant week but the food was tasteless. We were not even finished with our salads and the main dishes arrived. We had to ask the young lady to remove the plates before she set everything down on top of us.
The whoopie pies we’re stale and had no taste. The lemon pie was far better.
Overall a very disappointing first experience at the Phoenician and one we will not repeat. We had invited friends and it was embarrassing
We were seated in an area where the one server was the bartender. It was clear she had too many duties to be an effective server. Sadly, the long waits between her appearances seriously took away from our experience. An earlier visit to this restaurant was far superior.
We were a party of 8. At our request, our table was in front of the open prep station. The breads and fabulous shishito Peper’s are a MUST for this restaurant. We were all happy with our mains. Great food, attentive service and reasonable prices
Wonderful dining experience restaurant week menu was great.
This is an incredibly beautiful restaurant with awesome views. The staff was very friendly and down-to-earth. The food was great and we went for Arizona restaurant week so the price was pretty good. They raised the prices of their cocktails, so those are quite a bit pricey. But delicious, as everything was that we had. We had the halibut and it was just awesome.
Even though the food here is very ,very good, the service is horrific! Why dine in a luxurious hotel restaurant when the service is abominably bad!
AMAZING!! The buns are a memory I won't forget for a long time. It is a beautiful restaurant, sitting on the patio during sunset is blissful. The cocktails are unique and fancy - exactly what you are looking for when going to fine dining.
We dined here during restaurant week. The PF menu was $33; excellent value. Outside seating with view of pool. Apps and desserts were great; entree of hanger steak tough and disappointing. We would return.
Christian was a great server! Good Food and ambiance.
great, always is!
