Mowry & Cotton

We had the Whole Sea Bass - a signature dish (for two). It was delicious; however the experience was marred a little. When the fish arrived, a small platter with lime creme fresh and five tiny tortillas was provided. Naturally we starting making little tacos and the five tortillas were gone in no time.
It took quite some time before we were able to get additional tortillas. During that time, we waited awkwardly, staring at the fish.
The presentation needs to be re-imagined. Either increase the size of the tortillas, or bring more up front.
Jackie and Dora are amazing. Jackie navigated the menu with us and we went with all her suggestions. The lamb tacos were delicious, the pork and the hanger steak were to die for but the sides were even better than the main courses. The sliced crispy potatoes were unbelievable. We can’t wait to come back. Great job Ahmet, Dora and Jackie.
Service was super slow
We sat outside and the ambiance was relaxing ad romantic. The food was outstanding and more than we could eat. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Mowry & Cotton was okay. It was a pleasant atmosphere, sitting out by the pool. The service was a little slow and the food was missing some flavor to wake it up. The pot de creme dessert was the best thing I had and it was delicious as were the whoopie pies my husband ordered. Bravo to the pastry chef!
Food was good. Great service. Loved the patio seating.
Went for Arizona restaurant week. Excellent food and nice menu but one of the only restaurants this week that did not include the drink with the $33 menu. The spinach salad was ok, not very innovative and slightly too wet . The salmon and roasted broccoli was delicious. The herb compote dessert was wonderfully done. However we did not find out until we got the bill that there was an $8 additional charge for the appetizer bread rolls which I found to really be “nickeling and diming” for restaurant week, as it is supposed to be an all inclusive menu, and it was just bread and butter. Seemed like a cheap way to get more money out of the customer. The service was sub par but in fairness we had a new waiter who seemed to be in training. Atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing overlooking the pool. Overall a great place but they could’ve done better for restaurant week .
Dora was the best!
We went for restaurant week and sat on the patio. Great food and good views.
Dinner is good. We love what we had for that night. We love the buttermilk bun and herb pot de cream very much. We ordered charred hanger steak and roasted salmon. I give 3 stars instead of 4 stars because it was my wife birthday . When i make the reservation, i did noted that it is for my wife birthday celebration. We are very disappointed that no one say happy birthday to her and her dessert plate has no happy birthday written on it. Our dinner didn't ended with what we expected.
We went there to celebrate my husband's birthday so we dressed accordingly, however the majority of other customers were very casual, ie, T-shirts, flip-flops, not what we were expecting from the Phoenician. The food was okay, the menu pretty limited and service was lacking, again not what we expected from this resort restaurant-sadly lacking from previous restaurants here. We will not be back.
Visited The Phoenician after a long time. Mowry &Cotton is housed in the same location where The Phoenician used to have their very upscale Weekend champagne brunch till the money losing proposition got too expensive.
The much shortened menu of the casual Mowry and Cotton restaurant was very good. The prices were a bargain, the food was good as the very best ingredients were used and the service was excellent. A shout out to Austen who took care of us. Also the fro-mosas were an excellent deal - 3 for $18. Throughly enjoyed the 2 1/2 hrs we spent there. Definitely will do a repeat visit next month!
Big group. The food and ambiance was phenomenal. The music was a little loud for Saturday lunch. The service was a little sparse. Overall a great experience.
Amazing meal from start to finish, excellent service, food and wine.
The Phoenician really knows how to do service right, from the moment you drive up. They making knowing and using your name a priority. Our server, Samantha, was delightful, friendly but not overbearing, attentive but not hovering. The food was perfect, with the lamb tacos being a standout, not to mention the buttermilk buns. The hanger steak and grilled shrimp were delicious. Samantha even comped our desserts since it was our anniversary. It was a really lovely and memorable evening.
Excellent Pheasant. Service was very attentive. We highly reccomend the restaurant.
We sat at our table over 45 mins before we had our starter/appetizer. The writer did not smile or refill our waters. Our food was prepared incorrectly with the second courses and entres’s. We were not compensated for their several mistakes and lack of service at our table. The restaurant wasn’t busy but they were too busy to give quality service and prepare our food correctly. I would not recommend this place if you are anticipating quality service.
Super impressed with the quality of the food. It was very quiet for a Tuesday night, very few people there. Service was here and there, likely busy prepping for a busier time. They were courteous and knowledgeable.
This was my 4th visit and I was met with the same quality of service and food that has kept me coming back.
Our third visit. Menu is always varied and interesting. The service level is commensurate with the property and always excellent.
The food was amazing and our server was friendly and very helpful with explaining the menu items.
I am not impressed, this was my second time to give the restaurant a chance. Service was good but the meal was mediocre. Probably will not be back. Drinks on the happy hour menu were very sweet and had very little alcohol.
Fabulous food with an incredible wait staff!! Every single time!!!
Made our birthday celebration special ! Great restaurant !
a great place to get a snack and a drink. Great quality food, and they have summer specials/happy hour all day. 4 drinks, 2 flatbreads, and we were out the door for $50 bucks.
The food is amazing! Staff very pleasant. Service overall is slow, yet the food is so good you will come back.
We've been 5 times in 4 days. Like I mentioned the staff are very nice. Our server this morning at breakfast was our shining star, Christian is amazing! On top of things, clearly stands out from the other servers we've had. He should help out with training as he knows what he is doing. Thank you Christian!
Very pleasant surprise, great food, great service and a very relaxed atmosphere at a great price
Great food but the real star of the restaurant was the service by our waitress and staff never let our water run empty and who gave us great recommendation.
Food and service were very good!
Great date night
The Phonecian used to be a “special” place for dinner. ...just didn’t seem that way this time. The service was ridiculously slow and staff seemed sloppy and not very attentive.
Great job as always
Service and food was outstanding and creative. Ask for Samantha she was great!!!
Weird experience. Brown lettuce in our salad. Sea bass listed as shareable portion was very small. Then our waiter and busboy seemed to quit in the middle of dinner. We had to flag down another server to finish with our meal. We never saw our server again and when we went to speak to someone at the host stand, no one was there either. Expect better from the Phoenician.
Much better experience than we expected. The beets appetizer was excellent. The halibut was ok. The wine list is very expensive and prices were 3 or 4 times retail. We enjoyed the experience but avoid resort dining because the prices are not in line with other non resort restaurants. Living in Phoenix full time and hoping some resorts start gearing themselves more for locals.
Mowry and Cotton is getting to be one of our favorite "go to" restaurants in The Valley! This time we enjoyed eating on the terrace, it was beautiful The service is superb and the dinner choices are a bit different than most restaurants but really delicious. My wife had the hanger steak and I had the halibut for our entrees. For appetizers we shared the charred beets and also the tomatoes and burrata. This is a must try if you haven't been there yet!
My husband and I dined here for restaurant week, and we are glad we did! I had the heirloom tomato salad and my husband had the charred beets, and both were excellent - great flavors in both. I had the halibut for my main course and it was oh so very excellent - not dry and seasoned just right. My husband had the hanger steak and he said it, too, was terrific - not dry at all and also seasoned perfectly. We finished our meal with deserts: I had the whoopie pies and they were very good. My husband had the lemon meringue, and he said it was also very good. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Mowry and Cotton!
My 55th Birthday was amazing here...
Our AZ Restaurant Week choice!
Me and my friend were there for Restaurant Week and from the absolutely amazing service, (our server was so good for us) the relaxed & luxurious ambiance, to the presentation of the food and of course the smells and taste was so unbelievably out of this world! I chose this restaurant because the food combinations are so creative that when I saw this I knew I had to try it! And I’m so glad I did! The Chef is truly talented, I’m a home cook, so I really appreciated how everything was curated to perfection! Definitely coming back here again!
