Everything was delicious and service was on point!
Celebrated a friends birthday on the patio great ambience. Service was great enjoyed it I would definitely go again!
Artichoke was not edible. Pheasant and potatoes were so-so. I’d recommend it for lunch but not enough value for dinner.
This was our second time to Mowry & Cotton. The view is great as is the ambiance. Unfortunately, both of our steaks were improperly cooked. We returned my steak (which was supposed to be medium but was initially served rare) and it came back well done. The waitress was nice enough to take off one of the steaks but both were inedible. The sides were good and she did bring us a dessert on the house. We waited 17 minutes for the valet to bring our car, so we were home late for the babysitter. Not a great anniversary night but there will be others.
Mowry and Cotton was extremely disappointing in one important regard.
The fella who stepped in for the gal at the bar...poured a ridiculous unfair cocktail.
They are pricey and he made no effort. ..the gal was reasonable.
The appetizers were very good, as well as the veggies and entrees.
cannot recommend if one wants to relax and have a drink or two.
Service was really good, food was above average but priced at resort pricing
Ornery server. Many mistakes. Sad experience as we used to have nice times here. Beautiful very expensive hotel. Unfortunate their on property dining is struggling.
We waited an hour for our food so I was expecting it to be extra delicious and I was sorely disappointed. My shrimp was dry, the Caesar salad needed more dressing and the potatoes were greasy. It just wasn’t a good experience especially at that price.
Food delicious. Server pleasant. But such an extreme amount of mistakes. Orders not put in, orders made incorrectly, Total disaster making each of our party basically eating separately and kids near melt down state by the time all food came. Terrible when you are relying i. this restaurant as the main mid-level dining at a high end resort.
Great food and ambience. Will definitely go back.
Food was exceptionally good. Loved it!!
We had a nice time. The restaurant has been remodeled and looks good.
good service, good food and great setting at the Phoenician
This was a wonderful restaurant incredibly good service and we got to sit out by the pool. Great grilled food.
Amazing even epic experience, nothing short of brilliant. Christine is a goddess among servers, uncanny in her ability to perfect the smallest details. She definitely made our brunch enjoyable, leisurely, relaxing and luxurious. Now THAT is what brunches are meant to be, thanks to the Phoenician for a memorable day!
Samantha was probably the best server that I have ever had!!!! I am 66 years old and have traveled around the world and have eaten at various restaurants. She was very attentive, extremely helpful, and her personality was a 10+. She is truly an asset to any company she will ever have the privilege to call her place of residency.
Jacqueline is an incredible hostess. We come back for her amazing service.
Food less than expected for a resort of this repute.
Food was consistently well-prepared and artfully presented. All staff were at all times , courteous, professional, and attentive to all of our needs and requests. We will be sure to eat here again when we are back in Arizona on vacation. Keep up the great work !!
We miss Il Terrazzo! It was so peaceful for dining.
Every bite was excellent. Be warned that each dish is big, so unless you have 4 or more people in your party it will be easy to over order. None of what we ordered was an appetizer size. Even the soup was a huge portion. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The weather dictated that we needed to eat inside but the room was beautiful. We would love to go back and eat outside sometime.
I was surprised at how many families with small children were having dinner here. Between the high ceilings, concrete floors, loud music coming from the speakers, and the noise from the kids, the atmosphere was too noisy and anything but relaxing. The highlight was the wait staff, who were attentive and polite. The lamb tacos were unique though a little on the greasy side. The chop salad was made of arugula, although that was not mentioned in the description. My partner had the burger, and it was cooked medium rare, just like he ordered it. He said the burger was very good, and he chose a side salad which he said was also very good. I suppose if one could sit outside on the patio, the noise level would be much better, and the views might make for a more relaxing dinner.
Great food. Not enough staff but the staff they had was wonderful. Lots of families so the commotion factor is there. A little pricey
The whole fish-sea bass was absolutely fantastic. It was a very large portion that could be shared by 2 people. The pheasant was rather dried. Outside tables and atmosphere were nice but the seats could use a little cleaning.
It’s nice, but not special or outstanding, it’s pretty pricey and at that cost, should be better. For the price you can have much better experiences in the area.
When we arrived, we chose to have a drink in the lounge while waiting to be seated. We were practically ignored. I had to seek service and they were not busy at the time. The service was very slow and the food was very sub par especially for a grand resort. I certainly expected more. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. Over priced, under quality.
The restaurant was very good but it was at a Marriott Resort which made it very hard to get to with a long walk from parking to restaurant.
We had a late meal at Mowry & Cotton and thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambience.
We looked forward to brunch/lunch here as locals. Our server, Christian, was fabulous. Unfortunately, the burgers we ordered were not. The burgers had no flavor and I ordered medium rare while my husband likes his well done. The burgers appear to have been mixed up but it was hard to tell because both of them looked like medium. They had no flavor or seasoning, as previously noted. The french fries that were ordered were dry inside and had a hard crust externally. The best part of the order was the spicy potato chips.
Would not do this again; local burger joints do better. We expected better from The Phoenician as a major resort here in Phoenix.
Our steak & bass were good. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Our only complaint was about the bread. Most mid-level (not crazy expensive/not cheap) restaurants will bring you some bread while waiting for your meal. We asked for some bread and were told it would be $8. No problem... we are fine fine paying $8 for a nice bread basket. What showed up was 2 pieces of toast. Literally, 2 pieces of toast. So, it’s not the biggest deal and like I said, we enjoyed our meal, but it was annoying to have to pay $8 for that.
Mowry & Cotton IS date night. Veal meatballs are to die for. M&C, yes.
The peppers were fantastic! Generous portions. Excellent food all around!
We had an 8:30 reservation , arrived at 8:10 and we waited at the bar. We kept drinking and ordering bar snacks and waiting at the bar while those who arrived later than us, two separate parties, were seated before us. We know because we know them! This was an industry meeting at the hotel! We kept asking our hostess about our table and she kept saying we were “ in the computer”! Finally after I made a huge scene which is not something I like to do at all, we were seated! Service was extremely SLOW. Shame because the food was very good, after such horrendous service we never got an apology from the manager. It was bizarre.
We wanted to end our extended weekend in Scottsdale on a high note and brunch at Mowry & Cotton was absolutely perfect.
The hotel was designed to maximize exposure to the sun and we took full advantage; we soaked up the sun from our perch overlooking The Phonecian’s pools and very well manicured grounds.
The food? Amazing! Yes, as others have mentioned, we started with the Monkey Bread and the Crispy Potatoes. Delicious! I loved the green chili pork shank. The meat was cooked to perfection and slid right off the bone. The salsa included two perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. Her Avocado Benedict was rich and flavorful. What we didn’t realize was just how generous the portions are.
We didn’t come close to finishing our plates. Next time, and there WILL be a next time, we will regretfully have to order fewer items.
All in all a fantastic way to end our stay in Scottsdale.
Average at best. Typical hotel deal.
Brought my Mother out for her 70th birthday. The staff was very nice, accommodating and helpful, the food was of course awesome. I had been bragging this place up to her for a while and they lived up to praise I had been heaping on them. Thank you to the staff for the great time and making my Mom feel special.
Celebrated hubby’s 60th bday at the Phonecian with dinner at Mowry & Cotton. Due to the holidays, the resort was overrun with families and children. They were kind enough to accommodate my request that we not sit near large groups with unruly children and there were many unruly children. Sadly its the new generations that are to blame for raising these beastly children. It really makes fine dining difficult. Having said that M&C did all that they could to make my husband’s bday enjoyable. The food was excellent! Thank you M&C!
We were told that kids under 3 ate free and that is not really the case. Were charged full price for kids meals.
Brunch service was very slow.
Nice menu and food is delicious. Food is always served fresh and well prepared which is all anyone can ask for. Service can be hit or miss depending on kitchen and wait staff organization. We have had breakfast and lunch here during our stay. The menu offers some nice choices. Great Benedict’s, chorizo egg tacos, and huevos rancheros. Outdoor dining is nice enclosed and heated area, but can get cold during mornings.
Perfect place for a date!
