Mowry & Cotton
Book your next event with us
Our friends from CO were in town so we decided to go to your restaurant for lunch. We have mixed reviews about the food—the Reuben was great as was the burger, but on one of the turkey sandwiches, the bread was burned black and on the other, my friend ordered it without tomatoes and the pesto on the side with gluten-free bread so when she got it, they left off the tomato AND avocado and there was no pesto. Disappointing...Service was slower than it should have been, considering how few customers there were in the restaurant.
Our server Dora was amazing. Ordered Mussels, Pheasant soup and tomato & burrata salad. Mussels were small but tasty. Tomato salad was outstanding. Had to send the soup back as it was far too salty. All I could taste was salt. Nice vista by the pool. Quite a few kids and families...good experience overall.
Really great food and a beautiful locaton
Everyone from the valet to our final waiter, Marc....was perfect!! First ...but not the last time we will spend the evening at The Phoenician!!! Thanks!!
Everything was good-nice, but waitress was pushy the entire evening w/many repeated visits to get our order, etc.
This ia a great place to unwind after a long day, has a great view, the staff is knowleadgable about the menu and work with any of your preferences. I would definitely recommend you check this out.
Staff was amazing. They made my parents anniversary so special.
We really enjoy eating here. The chef prepares his dishes with a different flare and the outdoor ambiance is enjoyable. So why the 3 star rating this time? Well it was the service! Throughout dinner we felt rushed. We enjoy a leisurely pace. The waitress kept asking what we would like for our main course while we were enjoying our appetizers and drinks. We purposely didn't order our full dinner knowing that Mowry and Cotton can push you out a bit too quickly. We noticed other tables were served their "next courses" before finishing the ones they were eating. So when you're enjoying your wonderful dinner at M & C just beware of your order timing.
Very slow service, although there were very few tables at the time. Food was delicious, but extraordinarily long wait for our drink and food to arrive.
Food was great! This is a fun place to take people who are from out of town because you get the resort feel. You also get to witness the bird handler with the hawk! This is to keep the small birds that are pests out of the way. I wasn't a huge fan of my waiter. He was a little too much and then seemed to be pre-occupied with other issues.
The setting, service and flavorful food was first rate. This dinner was final evening of a great vacation ended in fine style.
We had a
Lovely lunch with friends from out of town!
The staff at the Phoenician are always happy and helpful. Always enjoy my dining experience!
We loved everything about this restaurant except for one thing: the DJ had her music volume so high we couldn't hear each other from one end of the table of six to another. We asked the server to ask her to turn down the volume and she did, but not enough for us to really enjoy our conversation. I don't understand why this happens so often... we don't come for a concert... we came for a meal and fellowship with friends. Everything about this restaurant helped us achieve our goal of a great meal, but the music was just a detriment to our conversation. If there is an either/or, I suggest getting rid of the music. On a delightful note, there was a woman with a Harris Hawk on her arm to "discourage" birds from entering the dining area. She was most interesting and friendly, being very free to talk to us about what she does and how she does it. And, it was very effective. Loved this! I would go back again, hoping that there was no music.
Very good good. DJ played appropriate music for crowd, place, time. Seeing the hawk was cool.
Really nice! Service is fantastic! Sitting outside, the view is lovely!!
Very spendy for what we received, I ordered the ribeye, medium rare- it came over done, Popeye’s has spicier chicken, and I would give them the benefit of the doubt and call it a bad day in the kitchen.
Great place for an eclectic choice of food. We enjoyed the Lamb tacos, pheasant soup, burrata salad, sea bass, salmon, scallops and the ribeye were expertly prepared and were delicious. Kid friendly options as well are available.
Large family dinner. Jacqueline provides amazing service.
Noise level is crazy, very small menu but the food is delicious.
I loved having lunch here with my daughter, cousin, and good friend. I'm a local and have been before. We have some lovely brief, salmon, fries, and flatbread but was very disappointed the phesant soup was not available. We had date cake and ice cream for dessert: delicious! Their coffee is also very good. Highly recommend, but I wish they had that phesant soup!
We should have gone to Motel 6 to eat. The menu was "special for Christmas and it could not have been the worst most bizarre choices. When I jokingly and politely told the server how poor the menu selection was he had no sense of humor and avoided us the entire lunch. Had to constantly ask others to help us... Since Host Hotels took over the Phoenician its has degraded. The lobby bar The Thirsty camel (where we had to retreat to to try and get some decent food) wasn't open until 2PM And this was Christmas Day. Then at 2PM on bar tender was assigned to the bar with a lobby full of guests. It was a fiasco.
Great food and service. Imaginative menu. Jacqueline was great!
Food was really good and atmosphere. Waited quite a long time for dessert and then people hovering over us as we were the last ones. We sat by the door and they were opening cabinets and putting dishes/glasses away right behind us. Thought they could have waited as that was loud. Waiters ran right to clean table as soon as we left.
Great food and great service! Super clean and awesome server.
We went at 11:30 AM for an early lunch. Tasty food with delightful presentation, menu options superb, Mallory was knowledgeable, friendly, fast. The price was what we expected. What wasn't expected was the Falconer to come to our table with a gorgeous Harris Hawk (we encouraged him to visit with us).
So we learned about what an amazing venue this is as well as about Harris Hawks (the latter is excellent for keeping birds away from outside diners).
Lovely, memorable, and tasty time!
Food was delicious. Had the chicken flatbread and it was fantastic. Server was very knowledgeable but not perfect, which is what you expect at the Phoenician.
Thanksgiving. Cold air coming through plastic curtain. We were our servers 1st afternoon seating. Room pretty empty. Service was pretty inattentive.
Extremely expensive, extremely good!
Nice Setting towards pool area.
Interesting Concept with plattest to Share, Creative Menue
Outstanding service by Kacqueline
Christine was FABULOUS for our large party. Thank you, Christine!
Overpriced and frankly mediocre food for what you pay. The famous bread buns where average at best, first batch served cold, second not much warmer. Not a bread snob at all, but these where below average.
Scallops are decent and almost cooked correct, slightly under cooked, but better than over cooked.
Steak was a measly portion although it was a good piece of meat.
The potatoes where smothered with sauces, really need to tell diners so you can order on the side.
Never had potatoes served this way.
Slow service added to the so/ so experience. $140 with tip and only one beer, no desert, way overpriced for what you get. The view sitting outdoors is nice, but not exceptional.
Overall do not recommend
Service was weak, food took too long to come out and it was no longer hot by the time it did. Seemed like it had been sitting for awhile. Husband’s pheasant had a long hair in it. I had the chicken which did nothing for me. Friend had a steak, she also said she was underwhelmed. The food was disappointing for the price and the service was sub par. Would not return.
Outdoor lighting too bright but great after they turned it down.
The menu was limited. I thought brunch was have some breakfast and lunch options but the menu was very small. Service was a little slow.
A major disappointment. The food was terrible. The sea bass tasted like dirt, literally. The cauliflower and Brussels sprout sides were so salty, they were inedible. The meatballs were so dry and overcooked, they were among the worst meatballs I’ve ever eaten. Subway has better meatballs!
Overall, this was the worst restaurants we’ve eaten at in a very long time. We will not be going back. In fact, if the food were free, we would not go back.
The service was also terrible. We waited 15 minutes for our bill to come and then another 15 minutes for someone to take it for processing. The food was delivered to our table and they had absolutely no idea who ordered what.
AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!
Food was below average
Good food. Extremely wonderful service!
Delicious dishes, made for sharing, paired with amazing cocktails in a picturesque setting!
Amazing! Loved everything especially the squash flatbread.
