3rd time visiting. Knew i could count on the bar staff to make a first date memorable. This place will remain on my list of favorites
The food was amazing but the waiter was what made the dinner that much more enjoyable! Extremely attentive and respectful. I would highly recommend to friends and family, and we will definitely be coming back again soon.
Our server Kalvin was phenomenal. He was very attentive and thorough. The sangria and paella were amazing. I felt like I had been transported to Spain for a casual dinner with friends. Highly recommend and will be back.
This has probably been my 5th time to the restaurant. Always, enjoy the paella. However, this time the seafood dish seemed to lack the goodies. Was very sparse on the seafood and was told there would be some Chorizo added but did not even taste it. The other dishes ordered Garlic Shrimp and Lomo Tosta were very good.
Very nice and unique place. I come here every time I visit Milwaukee. Especially to listen to Jose, a great flamenco singer. Great food and atmosphere. Calvin is a very polite and patient server, as well as informative.
We were sold on the "endless tapas" — At the end of our meal (after waiting for some 20 minutes) our server mentioned they ran out of one of the tapas we ordered (the muscles). I'm not one to complain but I asked if they'd throw in a desert instead. Simply said no. Probably wouldn't have ordered the tapas if we would have known one of the main tapas was unavailable. We spent more money than if we would have ordered the tapas individually. The cocktails and ambience were great and our experience has always been great before. Next time we'll just get the Paella .
The food and service was excellent. We were seated promptly. The food came out quickly. Great experience!
Excellent tapas restaurant, really good, tasty dishes! Waitstaff was very helpful. Sangrias (both red and white) were excellent, and priced at only $5 when we were there -
Very loud place. Tapas is not great as I have gone other Tapas’ places. Panella was good. Just expand more Tapas as include Spain’s regions specialities.
We went to Movida for my brother's bachelor party. Both the food and service were amazing! Also, they have an unlimited tapas option for $35 per person which is great deal. We enjoyed all of the different tapas dishes and both the white and red sangria. We will be back!
I went here for a casual bachelorette party and all my guests including myself were first time diners here and we were all impressed with the food. We tried a majority of the tapas and overall my favorites were the Olive Board Starter and the Shrimp Tapa. The red sangria did not disappoint, the white sangria was ok (it was a bit sweet and more punch like to my taste), and a friend of mine had the old fashioned which was incredible yet unique for someone like myself who loves a good old fashioned. I look forward to coming back someday and trying one of their famous palleas which I hear are traditional to how they are made in Spain.
We had read some reviews that were not great, but wanted to see for ourselves. Great service, really great food for the two of us and definitely will come back and recommend to others...Keep up good work.
My experience was awesome! It was my mom's 60th birthday so my family and I took her there because she loves Tapas. We were more than happy with our food and Taylor was great at explaining each dish with enthusiasm! I will definitely be back!
Wait staff was fantastic. We had a group of 13 that included 2 young kids and 3 teens. They were attentive to our needs. The food was fantastic. We look forward to coming back next time we are in the Milwaukee area.
Did not care for server. She was insincere and programmed. Forgot to give is napkins. Needed them with oily dipping foods. The Vasco Old Fashioned is worth the trip on itself. Loved the mussels and clams. A bit too pricey for what you get. There are si many new and great restaurants- I would try a new one before I would go back again. Goid music - needs to be louder.
Food was amazing and not over priced! $35.00 for unlimited tapas!!
We arrived and didn't know what to expect! The waiter explain us everything on how the Tapas were and how the unlimited tapas work. We ended up eating 4 tapas between my wife and me and it was more than enough! The chocolate cake was really really good, unfortunately it was a little small, but is still worth the ordered ;) We will visit again soon!
MOVIDA has great food and is a very authentic spot for Spanish tapas and paella. Our visit included live music (which explains the moderate level noise rating) and great ambiance in the restaurant. Overall, we received great service and had delicious food to enjoy.
They’ve updated their menu and it was really tasty!
The food was delicious. The service was great. The menu has nice variety but isn’t extensive. I prefer quality over quantity so that’s fine with me. However considering there were only four entrées, it was disappointing that two of the entrées were no longer available at 6:30 PM on a Wednesday.
Sadly underwhelmed by the experience. Food was not memorable, just very ordinary. I visited a similar establishment in Chicago 2 weeks prior and I still recall the unique flavors and tastes from that experience. Service was fast and friendly though.
Movida used to be my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee. It had great food, service, and ambiance. Unfortunately, something has changed in recent months. The menu was reworked, removing many great items including the small cheese selections and the steak tartare. I’m not sure if they have a new chef, but they are reworking some of the dishes and it’s just not working. My husband and I decided to give it another chance, so we made reservations this past Sunday night - unfortunately we were disappointed again. We waited for 10 minutes at the hostess stand without being acknowledged. After we were seated, we sat for 15 minutes without a soul coming to our table to even say “welcome,” get us a drink, or let us know service would be delayed that night. After 20 minutes we got up and left to go to a different restaurant, and no one even acknowledged that we were leaving! The service and food have definitely gone down. So sad. Please bring back the old movida! And the original steak tartare with the quail egg!
Food was excellent service was awesome, we got in and were seated immediately. Will definitely return in the future
The restaurant atmosphere is very nice. The bartender was wonderful. Drinks and wine were a bit overpriced.
The food was really the main issue. The tapas are very, very small. The paella, while tasty, was mostly rice and not much meat or seafood at all.
We had a wonderful and very attentive server.
Enjoyed the evening - did not love the food.
We had a great server named Lucy. She really went out of her way to make our visit special. She was friendly, cute, knowledgeable and fast. Great food and atmosphere (and the specialty drinks were excellent as well!)
Big fan of tapas and authentic Spanish food, as well as Spanish wines, and Movida does all extremely well...¡Todo hecho magníficamente bien!
I was disappointed with the new much smaller menu.. I have been here nany times and this is the first time I was not happy with the food... not sure if they have a new chef? Or new owners????
Celebrated my spouse’s birthday with friends at Movida on a quiet Tuesday and had a fun and memorable evening. From the bartender’s sincere greeting (“Hola!”) when we walked into the restaurant, to the hostess’s and server’s friendly attitude, attentiveness, and knowledge, to the wonderful array of menu items and wines - our party had a wonderful evening. I look forward to returning to Movida soon to sample some more menu items as well as a creative cocktail or two.
Our dinner here was great. I loved my cocktail and all the food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. I liked the photos on the wall and that they were playing black and white TV, too.
We had a reservation, but ending up staying the bar which was very comfy. Kyle took care great care of us was and because of him I would return.
The shrimp dish was my favorite and loved the dessert.
Good job to whoever does the music! Fun songs and volume level perfect.
Kalvin was great and helped make up for the fact that many of my favorites are no longer on the pared down menu. Missing multiple board options and Jamon Croquettas!!
I love Movida! It’s one of my favorite places!!!
had dinner at movida and felt that while food was excellent portions were exceptionally small and was especially "angry" about he glass of wine which really only was a "taste".. going forward I am going to ask ALL restaurants to bring out what they consider a "pour"
Creative food and beverages. Excellent experience.
I loved the atmosphere, but it was pretty empty and the date night special was good but a little pricey. Maybe $50 would be better as the platter was not that big.
Went here for an anniversary dinner. All of the food was great and our server was very attentive and made accommodations for our special occasion. Also, we went on a Monday, and the happy hour deals were great for the quality of food and drink.
We live about 2 hours away, but when we travel to Milwaukee, we make it a point to eat at Movida. The paella is delicious! The servers have always been very friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and parking is easy. We'll always be back!
Awesome food and service! Highly recommend the paella andSpanish G&Ts!
Quaint little place in the 5th ward. Excellent food and service. Loved the decor as well. Would highly recommend going here for a nice dinner.
The tapas were excellent, varied and great for sharing. We had a party of 5 and ordered seafood paella plus cheese/charcuterie plate and 3 tapas. Overall excellent but felt the paella was skimpy on the seafood
