Amazing food and delightful atmosphere.
Delightful experience. Excellent jamon and manchego charcuterie. Superb bottle of Rioja tempanillio wine. My lady friend had the Brussels sprouts tapas and I had the garlic shrimp tapas. Both mouth watering. Our wait staff was personable and happy to answer several menu questions. Ambiance was very spanish. I will look forward to a return trip there
Amazing food and service! Felt very safe with social distancing as well!
I loved everything! JP was our waiter and he was great too.
Amazing customer service and wonderful food! Highly recommend!
Wonderful tapas. Fun ambience-we went during a Star Wars pop-up so if you are a fan, you will enjoy it. It seems one the ambience would be romantic on a normal day. Paella was good but not the best part of the meal. Enjoyed the sangria flight and thought the tapas were the stars of the meal. Wonderful service. Recommended for couples.
The entire experience was wonderful. The tapas was great and a wonderful varied selection. Drinks were delicious and the churros were yummy!
Social distancing and masks- yes!
The newly renovated space was light and well spaced out. The service was very warm, welcoming, and helpful. The food was perfectly plated and flavors were amazing! Highly recommended Roasted Broccoli and the goat cheese empanadillas.
We required outdoor dining which is difficult on a cold, rainy night. The covered patio was very comfortable and we could remove our jackets. The tables were well spaced. Staff were great. The harissa chicken skewers were tasty, which was great for someone who doesn’t eat pork/shellfish. The garden paella was also flavorful. I wish that the extra COVID charge was 12% vs 18%, although the efforts the restaurant made to accommodate COVID restrictions were outstanding
Excellent food & ambiance! Service was a bit slow at first & they forgot a few things but overall they were very friendly & we had a good time there.
It was a very enjoyable evening the food and service was spot on!
The outdoor setting is wonderful. The food and service were also over the edge fantastic. My daughter can’t drink alcohol now and they made a delicious mocktail. I had the watermelon grapefruit sangria and loved it. We had the burr at a, the broccoli, the vegetarian paella, and the noodles. We finished we both desserts and everything was great.
Atmosphere was very nice and the patio was clean. Everyone was wearing masks and we felt very safe. Our waiter was terrific! We had 2 issues and he resolved them quickly. He was great.
The food on the other hand was mediocre. Seafood paella was very bland and had very few shrimp and the crab was canned flaked crab that they sprinkled on the top. Very disappointing. The tapas we ordered varied: several were very good but 4 of them were just okay. One was kind of bad. I wish the food had been better because the atmosphere and the service were so good.
The paella was very dry/overcooked. It was very disappointing. The olives, bread, and tapa we selected were pretty good.
Dinner with a friend
Always such a great dining experience at Movida. Great wine, great paella and churros were on point! Our waitress was wonderful and we had a great outdoor dining experience!
Wonderful food and beautiful setting. Felt very safe.
We sat outside due to concerns surrounding covid 19. It is very casual. I was a bit cold, but they have heat lamps. The food was excellent. Somewhat limited selection. Wine was ok for the price. Service was excellent!!!
Love tapas - so loved this place! Great food, sangria, and atmosphere. Loved the cute patio & heat lamps!
Christian is a great waiter and added to the experience. The restaurant is very conscious of covid issues. We felt safe and satisifed.
Dinner here found us ordering out of comfort zone in trying dishes that were mostly new to us. Every thing was solid. We go out at least once a week but with COVID, we try to stay to outdoor patio places that we have to feel safe at. This was a solid grand slam and possibly my own meal of the year. The patio had a canvas roof plus I saw several outdoor heaters so dining when it gets colder and is not a warm sunny day will be no problem. We didn't but I suggest ordering the bread app as if you order the garlic shrimp (and you should) you'll have something to sop up that garlic butter. We ordered the cheese and jamon plate and the Iberian ham, while looking like prosciutto, was not salty and just melted in your mouth. The house marinated olives were delicious. The Mariscos Paella was the best I'd ever tasted and we plan on going back to try the other ones on the menu. We enjoyed the Spanish white wine and our server could not have been more helpful in explaining the wines and the menu.
Fantastic first dining experience at Movida. This is hands down one of the top 3 Tapas restaurants in Milwaukee, if not the best. Everything we ordered was excellent, including the drinks (Sangria flight and Fall G/T)!
Food very good, Service was wonderful. We were seated in the “far“ backyard. Not quite as pretty as the enclosed patio. Grass under our table/chairs a bit mushy due to recent rain. Would be better if backyard could have brick or stone patio (would also help somewhat with the bugs).
Food was delicious. Music is a little loud but not enough to prevent you from having conversation. Sangria was incredible.
Great hospitality - the service is some of the best we've had in the city.
Will definitely come back!
Was lovely, our server was very good even though he had many tables. The food is AMAZING.
Drinks are amazing. Good vibes. Outside perfect for socially distanced gatherings.
The overall experience was lovely.. food was very good.. we just felt the area was too dark out in the garden and sad to see that tables were not set because of covid
I was expecting a really Spanish Paella. I had the shrimp paella. Probably I should have ordered for the other option which , I think requires 45 min cooking time.
Like the place, would really love to have a real Spanish Paella !!!!!
If you work on Sundays for lunch time, I would stop over for a real Paella. I live in Sheboygan.
Great food and drinks
Great outdoor dining
Will be back soon hopefully! Everything was amazing!
Atmosphere and service was good. Server could have been a little more attentive. Wasn’t overly impressed with the paella...it seemed dry and mostly rice instead of seafood.
The variety of small plate offerings and quality of food made for a very enjoyable dining experience. Service was efficient without being obtrusive. Additionally, the outdoor seating area was very comfortable and vibrant. Our only quibble was with the mandatory 18% "service charge" (for all of staff) in addition to a discretionary tip for our server. It's a bit confusing and certainly bumps up the overall bill since we wanted to make sure our server was fairly compensated. I would prefer that they add a more reasonable and straightforward "Covid surcharge" to account for seating restrictions and leave it at that.
The food was great! Fairly priced, but can get expensive if you order a lot of tapas!!
A little pricey for what it is. But still great food and ambience. They should spray for bugs in garden area. Very buggy.
Pialla was terrific as were other tapas plates. Timing Of service was poor, server was pleasant but less knowledgeable than expected. Likely working with Covid constraints.
The sangria was great and the food was excellent.
We had dinner on the lawn, nice setting. But table was broken, so for a nice resturant a broken table is bad. Note even medium priced resturants outdoor tables are not broken. The food menu changed so the tapas menu was from a sister resturant. In the end food was mediocre at best. Our server was very good and they had a lot of staff. They have a mandatory 18% gratuity, which I am fine with as I am a normal 20 to 25%. But DO NOT ADD THIS AS A MENU ITEM. I got to pay Sales tax on the tip. That is not okay. Why do you think I should pay Sales tax on my tip.
PS if you going to wire a outdor speaker/Amp for out door music, do not use a cheesy white extension cord hanging off a nail at the entrance to the the out door area. It seriously looked like my 14 yr old niece did this at the last minute. I say this as I stared at this through my whole dinner, Directly behind my wife.
The previous menu for Hotel Madrid was far better and executed with much more ability. Disappointed.
The service and environment at Hotel Madrid were phenomenal. We loved the tapas plates and many of them were quite authentic to Spain. Our only notes for improvement were that our pork was a bit overcooked and one sangria was sweeter than described. But we will definitely be going back for years to come.
