Mountain View Café is situated on the edge of a subtropical rainforest on a ridge overlooking the Glass House Mountains in Maleny. The venue provides one of the Sunshine Coast’s most spectacular views and is housed within the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, a living remnant of the animal and plant life that once covered the Blackall Ranges.

Loved the fact that there was a seniors menu.. felt the meal could have been slightly bigger.. especially the chicken dish.. mostly bone.. quite a cold feel not cosy considering it was a very cold day.

Mountain View Cafe was excellent. Very impressed with good service. Initially my eggs Benedict were under cooked. Maître d' was happy to send back and redo to perfection. Soft centre with white set. Will ask for medium next time. Lady on front counter was obliging and explained new menu. Welcomed any suggestions. Hummingbird cake was lovely and moist. Coffee, not bad either. Glad heaters were out on deck, as it was very chilly yesterday morning. Remember to take a warm cardi or jacket. Even though heaters were on, I still froze. Was wearing long sleeves. Stunning location with views to Glasshouse Mountains. You’ve got our repeat business. 😀🙏

I requested a private table with a good view, which was reserved inside. To me the music was too loud and not appropriate for breakfast in a bush setting, so we chose a table outside, where we could hear the birds whistling and the view was better. The staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. We set out for our circuit afterwards. A perfect way to spend the morning.

Bacon was the best ever, coffee was ok, maybe could have been a tad hotter, overall really tops.

Friendly staff, fabulous food in a beautiful setting with the Glasshouse Mountains in the background. Highly recommend if your looking for a breakfast or lunch or simply a coffee and cake.
