First time at the Hyatt Centric Buckhead. Drinks at Spaceman, Dinner at Mt Royal. Spaceman’s views of the skyline at sunset were beautiful and enjoyable, although the execution of drink service, not so much. Unorganized, cluttered, and 4 flustered bartenders for not even a full bar and patio. We tried to be good patrons with a simple order of a nice Tequila, poured straight and a house margarita but were disappointed when the margarita was watered down and overly sweet. On the other hand, dinner at Mt Royal was a pleasant rebound. Service was excellent and attentive when needed. The Martini was ideal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and appropriately timed. Even the Chef touched the table to inquire about our experience. I do think if Spaceman could streamline steps of service with some confidence, this would make a great staple to Atlanta’s hospitality experience.

I think it would have been much better if the $60 ribeye had at least been sliced. Also, maple syrup with the tart made it MUCH to sweet.

I wanted this to be good, but the food was just mediocre, and very expensive for what they offered. Luckily we were able to get poutine but it’s not even listed on the menu. The staff is VERY new. Also my friends drink was ROUGH.

Steaks were prepared to perfection, the Diane sauce was really great but not needed as the steaks were so good on their own. Poutine fries and the latkes were delicious as well. Also, don’t sleep on the table bread, it soo good!!

The experience started well. We had an attentive waiter and provided good recommendations for dinner. The quality of the food was excellent, but half way through the meal our waiter was no where to be seen and the level of service became disappointing.

Unfortunately didn't work. Frisée lettuce was old and I got a pocket of horseradish in one bite. The Tourtière was actually good and had a crisp crust. Latkes were tasty, though they were more like mashed potato cakes. The roasted cabbage with black truffle at $36 was a disaster. The cabbage was pale and the truffles were completely odorless and tasteless. Maybe old, maybe fake--not sure. Well-prepared cabbage can be really good, but this was weak. It's a nice space, although sometimes the headlights from the cars glared directly into the whole side of tables, including where we were. Speaking of cars, the valet service is $10.00+$0.75 "convenience fee" + tip. Must use their app, which didn't ping me a text for the first 3 times the 1 valet tried to send. Trying to call my car to leave, the app failed multiple times before it finalized the billing and eventually went through. I can see this would be really frustrating to others, especially older folks not used to dealing with this. HUGH: We appreciate your trying here, but you should definitely bail ASAP!

Found the tartare to be under seasoned. Got the ribeye, steak was cooked well, a tender, juicy, but also a bit under seasoned. Lyonnaise Salad was perfect, and poutine good as well.

Food was outstanding but they were very short staffed. 1 server, 1 bartender. Everything took a very long time, from water to drinks or ordering. That's the only knock - the food was very good. If they figure out staffing this will be an easy 5 star.

While we have enjoyed Hugh Atcheson restaurants for many years, Mount Royal was a big disappointment. Starting with the valet parking situation at the hotel entrance where one of the hotel employees was arguing with the 3rd party valet company attendant when we arrived. We waited 10 minutes to have an attendant approach us. At this point, he spent several more minutes explaining the valet company’s App and that we needed to download the app at dinner and complete all the information before paying for and ordering our car for pick- up post- meal. Oh, and btw, there is a $10 charge plus CONVENIENCE fee not including gratuity for the pleasure of enjoying this parking circus! While the ambiance of the restaurant is modern shriek, all of the tables surround the bar so essentially you are eating at cocktail tables in the bar. While our waiter, CJ was attentive, knowledgeable and very sympathetic with regard to the parking fiasco, the menus is very limited. You will find 4 cuts of beef, a chicken dish, lobster, salmon and a vegan offering. My wife ordered the strip and I had the salmon. While the steak was cooked correctly, it lacked rich flavor that you would associate with a USDA prime cut of beef. Lesson to remember: if you want a classic steakhouse experience, go to a classic steakhouse of which Atlanta has several outstanding offerings. My salmon, while attractively plated, was extremely under cooked, basically raw other than the exterior. The latkes were bland and not worthy of what you might expect. Overall, the food was average at best given the inflated menu prices. Sorry to be so critical as we have enjoyed several great meals at Five & Ten but Mount Royal was an expensive disappointment. There are way too many other dining options in ATL to settle for this sub- par experience. P.S…. After downloading the park app& paying for parking, the app informed us “ due to high volume, we are unable to process your request”! What a great ending!

My wife’s ny strip was returned twice. Both steaks were not edible due to the amount of gristle present. The sides, creamed spinach and mushrooms were very small portions. Initial round of drinks took way toooooooo long. At no time did a manager come by to say hello and check on our experience. Three of us ordered steaks, it’s a steak house - right. We were all very surprised at how thin the steaks were. Hugh, your reputation will take a hit if this ship is not righted. Our server, Casey I believe was very nice, courteous and professional. The dining room is well done. Net, net the ATL is a steakhouse kinda of town. Mt Royal has a long way to go. A very long way. Hugh, please do better.

It's a beautiful restaurant and they've made the acoustics particularly nice for older diners who don't want to compete with the room to make conversation. But it's evident that staffing is an issue. Our server was earnest and pleasant but at these prices, honestly I'd like someone who really knows what they're doing. These restaurants throw these kids onto the floor and they're just not polished enough for what management is shooting for. I understand that finding qualified servers is tough in this market, but if you want this to be a high priced steakhouse, the establishment needs better trained, polished people to be on the floor. Hopefully things will improve. The food was fine; but not a wow by any stretch.

Many new restaurant woes; they were out of items despite it being a limited menu, there was a barback in jeans running plates, and the service was very slow between courses despite the restaurant being less than half full. The sides came and sat on our table for at least five minutes before the mains arrived so temperatures all varied, and nothing was particularly hot. The carrots were hard in the middle, and the broccolini was similarly undercooked and under-seasoned. The latkes and poutine were very underwhelming and shouldn't really be on a menu with those kinds of prices at those kinds of portions without being absolutely sensational. The best I can say is the steak was totally adequate. There was nothing, not one thing about the meal that made it worthwhile.

Really very underwhelming. The food was just blah. The mushrooms were rubbery, the beef tartare was smothered in shallots. The ribeye was average. The smoked salmon on the non flavored latkes was okay. The creamed spinach was the best part of the meal. On top of all of the disappointment, my card was charged twice. I called. They said they would remedy the problem. So far not. I know, hope, the pending charge will fall off, but in the mean time out a couple of hundred dollars. Definitely a hotel restaurant Not much better than the complimentary breakfast at a Marriott on a road trip.

I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was very subpar with major issues, especially for the price. We had a group of 4 so I got to try a lot of items. While the wine, bubbly, and cocktails were great as well as the service, the food was completely lackluster. My split pea soup had good flavor but was served barely lukewarm. The Cobb salad was a deconstructed salad, and it contained wilted greens. There really wasn't much to it. The NY strip was a lovely cut of meat, but sadly it was extremely salty - to the point where we had to take the seasoning off just to try and stomach it. The carrots which the waitress highly recommend were mostly raw and barely cooked. The beef tartare was fatty. Unfortunately my favorite dish were the free rolls you get at the beginning. We mentioned the issues we had with our food to the waitress, and she apologized and said they have a very green and new chef. Not sure why we should be punished for that. Of course no comped drink or dessert to help in us coming back again. Well don't worry, we definitely won't.

We were excited to try this new Hugh Acheson restaurant since we are big fans of Empire State South. The restaurant in located on the first floor of the new Hyatt Centric hotel behind Lenox Mall. Our first impression was the restaurant was beautiful. We had our choice of table since there was not many people eating at 7pm (the time of our reservation) but the restaurant starting filling up around 8pm. The most disappointing aspect was the menu is very limited - 6 starters (includes 2 salads), 4 non-steak main dishes, 5/6 steaks, and 5 sides (mostly vegetables). For some people, this is not an issue but for us you need to hit the ball out of the ballpark if you have such a small menu. I would say they hit a solid triple. For starters, we had the latkes and tartare. Both were delicious but the tartare could have used a little bit acid and salt. My girlfriend had the filet which was cooked very well but came out only slightly warm. I had the chicken which was roasted and covered in an herb oil. I was a little confused because it said brown butter sauce on the menu and I was certain that was not what I received but it was very good. We would normally address these issues with the waiter but it was clear the staff was so new and still learning that we decided to let it go this time. Lastly, we had the carrots (very very good) and mushrooms (not so much, no flavor). I will plan on going back a second time but would like to see more choices and better flow/responsiveness from the staff.

The food was not good. The steak was subpar- many of the other steakhouses in Atlanta are much better. The staff was nice but lots of miscommunication. The king salmon was raw when asked for it to be well done. The cocktails were not that great and while they corrected their mistake- the correct one wasn’t given. For the price and expectation of food quality- it didn’t deliver.

The restaurant was fine. Service was excellent but the food was mediocre. Steak was perfect and the dinner roll was delicious. Aside from that everything else was meh to bad. Wife's Salmon came bathed in sauce that made it unnecessarily heavy. Similar flavor could have been achieved by placing the fish on top of a plate that had been painted in the sauce. Specialties like the latkes and tourtiere were really not that good. The service was stellar and the restaurant design is beautiful. All in all though, the restaurant is just too mediocre to want to return. If you want to succeed in the ATL restaurant market you have to kill it.

After carefully reviewing the menu on the web site, my 15 y/o son and I made reservations for New Year’s Eve. After sitting down we realized that the menu had been changed for the evening and that this was not noted anywhere. We sat down to a very overpriced “romantic” dinner when we were looking to celebrate the end of 2021 as mother-son. The menu had 3 choices - with only one option either of us would consider eating. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and was told they had no tea to make it. Had to pay $6 per non alcoholic drink for my son. The waitress was untrained and rude and was not accommodating at all. An example was that they brought out bread for the table, which was 2 rolls. We ate them and while waiting (split pea soup🤢- the appetizer option) the waiter asked if we would like more rolls. My son said yes please and a short time later the original untrained waitress returned saying “ just so you know there is a $1.50 charge for the rolls.” I routinely dine at nice restaurants- and expected this would be one since it is in a Hyatt hotel. Her attitude was very off putting. A short time later a more senior waitress took over and our experience improved. This waitress sent the manager over ( even though I declined to speak with him) and he had me recount the entire experience in front of my son. I am all about taking accountability but there was none on my part for how bad this experience was. The manager stated”not to make excuses but…” when responding to my complaints which were justified. To top off the experience I was given a bill for $330.00 instead of the $208.00 that was correct. They justified it by saying I received another customers bill. Very irritating end to an annoying dinner experience. Glad my son and I were able to make the rest of the trip fun. THE RESTAURANT DID NOT OFFER TO DISCOUNT OR REFUND ANY OF THE COST OF OUR DINNER FOR THE LOUSY EXPERIENCE- THIS MEAL SHOULD GAVE BEEN 💯 COMPENSATED. Do not waste your evening at this restaurant.

Had dinner New Years Eve.......was at 1st disappointed as the full menu was not available and not mentioned when reservations for New Years were made. However, the meal and paired wines were delicious and appropriately spaced. Food was cooked as requested, presentation was nice, and service was very well executed. Overall a great meal, and enjoyable evening. Will definitely return as I do want to experience some of the French Canadian inspired menu items I grew accustomed to during my childhood in the very Canadian French influenced cities and towns in New England.

Brand Spanking New Opening.... we were surprised the menu was streamlined but in that the real opening is Jan. 1, we had no problem with it. The restaurant is warm and welcoming. Tables set with glistening glassware and silverware quite lovely on the wood tables. Our server was prompt and engaging and we had our beverages with rolls and a most lovely butter which was dressed with a mixture of I'm not sure what cause I didn't ask but it was truly lovely and delicious... sesame seed and a touch of sweet... maybe honey? It was really really good. We decided to share an appetizer and we chose the Beef Tartar... and may I say I have had Beef Tartar at restaurants before but never have I had such a complex and delicious dish! I could eat that alone for appetizer entre and dessert!!! Fantastic! I ordered the filet with Béarnaise the quality of meat was A+! The chef cooked it to perfection! My husband ordered the 1/2 Roasted Chicken with Portuguese Brown Butter Sauce. Of course I had to taste it.. and my was it spectacular!!! It was wonderful! The chicken was super moist and the sauce a complexity of depth and flavors. I couldn't resist the temptation of a little dessert so we shared the doughnuts and added a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A perfect ending. So.. I do recommend dining at Hugh's newest restaurant Montreal Canada inspired Mount Royal. I'm so happy to have a Montreal Canadian Inspired restaurant in Atlanta where the food is truly spectacular!

Very limited menu at this time… but what they are serving is excellent. Everything we tried was very tasty. The tourtiere was the best dish that we had. Service is a bit spotty but they have only been open for a few days. Atmosphere is ok but would be better if the space were more clearly separated from the hotel lobby. We would definitely go back to try the full menu when it is available.
