Kimchi and Foie Gras Dumplings
house made kimchi and foie gras dumplings with warm compote of D'anjou pears cooked in pear vinaigrette untill caramelized then topped with A5 wagyu ribeye and finished table side with a drop of sizzling and perfumy beef pho tallow
The food was fresh and flavorful and the service was great. Cozy atmosphere and lively scene. They told us ahead of time they were short staffed in the kitchen and apologized in advance if the food took a little longer to come out. It came out timely regardless. I will definitely go back.
Amazing food and ambience!
The food is always exceptional. This is one of our go to places when friends are in town.
Friendly bartender and great food!
Creative and delicious food with excellent service. Always a favorite!
Another flawless meal was had. Get the fried okra, you’ll thank me later.
We took our teenagers here for a family birthday. They’re adventurous eaters, but even we were surprised by how much they loved the turnip dumplings and whole branzino. The crispy rice cake appetizer was a crowd pleaser. The fried avocado salad was just the right amount of spicy. The scallop entree was fantastic. The kids were happy to finish with beignets. Servers were warm and attentive and offered great suggestions. I look forward to going back.
Wonderful! Never had the chicken curry and it was divine!
Absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the crispy rice cake (which really exceeded my expectations), the turnip dumplings and grouper. Great find for a birthday dinner.
Wow. Mind blowing flavors. Not the classiest ambiance but still perfect for almost any occasion. Definitely a good find for foodies!!
Another flawless meal at my favorite place in Dallas to eat.
Great food. Small cozy place. Very nice attentive service. Food was a bit slow coming out of the kitchen, but everything was fantastic!
Always consistent, high-quality, and friendly.
My top 3 in Dallas.
Our dinner group dined there last night. We had an incredible experience. We shared four appetizers and six entrees and each one was outstandingly delicious. The food came out piping hot and was beautifully presented.. The service was excellent and unobtrusive. All dishes were great. Notable were Bahn bao, turnip dumplings, Shaking beef, whole fish, Kimchi dumplings….oh, and the garlic noodles are to die for! If you have room for dessert try the buttermilk beignets or pineapple cake. Yum!
Party of 4, 1 new to Vietnamese cuisine. All of us loved every item we were served and we all made happy plates!
Some of the best tasting food in Dallas! Never disappoints.
Birthday dinner and it was as usual outstanding. Food superb, Service was informative kind funny on-point and great personality. Mot Hai Ba is a must and trust me it will became a staple in your life.
Delicious food, tasty drinks, great to share, Sabrina was excellent. Was a bit hot on the patio, but overall wonderful.
Food is really good, service was lacking, overall a good experience
Will be having all these again and so much more to try on menu.
Dumplings were really good.
Really great to be back again. Everything was perfect. The separate tables are nice but I think it brought up the noise level.
This restaurant is just amazing. Food and cocktails are incredible good.
WON’T BE BACK ; DOESN’T MATCH THE HYPE
The problem with this restaurant is not the food which was good; however although described as a Vietnamese restaurant, those offerings are limited. We thought expensive also.
The salad was crisp and the entrees hot and these came out promptly.
Ice water glasses were refilled as needed.
Our server, a young woman, was very good, attentive but not hovering.
All waitstaff wore masks which was appreciated.
We were the only ones there for an hour.
The initial problem was finding the restaurant which is quite tiny and wedged between what looked like a derelict garage to one side and an unkempt expanse on the other. We had this problem despite knowing this area of Dallas well and using Google maps.
There is no parking designated. The only place to park is on the street -you discover this after going around the block a couple of times. This is fine if you had known that ahead of time.
From the outside, the restaurant looks like the proverbial hole in the wall, with a patio of sorts on the front of the restaurant surrounded by plastic sides. Very poor signage. The actual interior, once we were allowed in the door, is attractive.
The REAL negative was the greeter. As we tried to enter the restaurant (masked) we were blocked by a young woman in a face mask and a boucle skirt who wanted to know in an aggressive voice if we had reservations. We did. Trying to get past this guard person was not pleasant. This was subsequently addressed reportedly.
We stayed to eat because my companion’s hunger overcame the aversion to the greeting.
But, all in all, not worth the trouble or expense. There are a LOT of Asian restaurants in Dallas; we won’t be back to this one.
Perfect evening. The wait staff is especially wonderful.
I booked a reservation for two on a Tuesday night. Upon arrival, my date and I were greeted and promptly sat despite the almost full dining room and party in front of us.
Our server, Kat gave us great recommendations and detail about each dish. We absolutely loved the appetizer turnip dumplings, and jasmine tea. Garlic noodles, and Kimchi foie gras dumplings were delicious as well.
We were impressed by the attentive service and attention to detail, especially between each course. Transitions were seamless. Thanks Mot Hai Ba for a fantastic dining experience, we will be back soon!!
Fabulous as always!
One of the most amazing, eclectic, and delicious places in all of Dallas. The food was terrific and the service was fantastic…
This was one of our all-time favorite meals. We sat at the bar and our bartender gave us all of her best recommendations since it was our first time in. The Turnip Dumplings are amazing, as are the Garlic Noodles and the Shaking Beef. Dee-Lish!!
Awesome food & service! Tiny restaurant with a very different atmosphere than your usual place. Will be back!
Sat on patio at 6:30. Flies and mosquitoes were out in full force. They had fans and each table had a small fan but it was still a problem. Otherwise it was great. We will be back but not on the patio in the summer
Great food and service!
I LOVE this restaurant! Food is delicious & service is always great. One of my favorite date night spots.
Amazing food and service. The waiters are very attentive and kind. The food is inventive and tasty.
The entire experience was SUPERB!! Our waiter was awesome too - thanks Ryan!!
Food was well prepared, but overpriced. Drinks were good. Opted for family style, which was recommended, but entrees were very small, more like small plates with entree pricing, and were served 2 at a time for 4 people. Not great.
Delightful experience. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The grilled octopus appetizer was tender, smoky, and delicious. My wife had the pork and peach entree which she refused, violently, to share. I ordered the foie gras dumplings which were a delight. We had one order of buttermilk beignets and coffee to top off a perfect evening. We will go back.
Hadn’t been here in a few years. Food was excellent as were cocktails. Service was professional.
Finally visited after COVID. Food was great; a different profile than most Vietnamese restaurants. Very loud! Next time we will sit outside. Also, portions for salad and entrees are right size but the server recommended two of a starter that we could have easily had one.
