   I dined the day before their last service (4/28) and Mosu was and forever will be one of San Francisco's top dining restaurants and will hold a special place in my food heart. Sung Anh expresses himself with such integrity; his culinary experience has facilitated him being able to accomplish this while working at Benu and TFL. Each dish is a memoir into his history, his Korean background, and his vision. Innovative, playful, and most importantly delicious, for those growing up with a Korean background or interest in its cuisine, each dish will surely hold a memory in your mind. Extremely beautiful plateware from Korea to help channel his ethos and identity. Service was impeccable and friendly. The only mishap was a slight backlash by the sommelier towards a waiiter about bringing wine glasses instead of water glasses for a pairing. It was slightly uncomfortable to hear given it was 5 feet away from my table. All things aside, my only regret was not being able to eat here more times and become friends with the chef, but I will definitely be seeing you in Seoul. Cheers,

   Fantastic restaurant, with excellent service and food. The restaurant staff was extremely understanding about our late arriving friends due to traffic delays, and accommodating. The creativity of each plate was fantastic! I loved every bit of it. I am very sad to hear that Mosu is closing at the end of the month, but am hopeful for the future of Mosu in Seoul.

   Sorry to say it was one of the worst experience's dining I have every had. My friends and I have eaten at very expensive restaurants like this one many times such as Michael Mina's and LA Folie and others. The food at Mosu was NOT even close, out of 12 dishes served only 2 were top notch the others only looked good and had expensive ingredients, 3 of the dishes I could not even eat. I spent over $1,000 for four people in what was supposed to be a great experience and there anniversary. Would NEVER go back. Gene

   This was my second time at Mosu in two months. This time, I brought my friend here for a special experience. She really enjoyed it and I was not disappointed either. I will definitely be back again. Thanks for the great, creative dishes and impeccable service.

    Wow!!! I am not sure how to describe the food. Amazing? Unbelievable? Creative? This is probably one of the best restaurants I have been to. The combination of various flavors (truffle, white soy, sea moss, cured pork, beef...) was amazing. We went there for New Year's Eve, what a great choice. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and we got the opportunity to meet and talk to the chef at the end of our dinner. Priceless. The wine list is also unique. We selected a white Chateau Neuf du Pape, pretty rare to find in stores let alone in restaurants.

    Outstanding food. Beautiful, flavorful, creative, and varied. You will remember it, you will puzzle over it, and you will not think "Gosh, I could have made this at home"...not even once. We've been to a lot of good restaurants and Mosu ranks right up there.

    Food was very interesting and service was great. My wife really liked it. I thought it was ok. Nice and simple decor, though could use a little warming up. Quite expensive for what it is though...as others have suggested.

    Dining here, you get a great sense of Chef Anh's background, culture, and culinary prowess. From the inventiveness of each dish with roots and influences from his Korean background, to the beautiful plateware and pottery that the dishes are served upon one can grasp his desire to redefine what Asian cuisine can offer in fine dining. The service was also attentive and the waiter's took time to explain the dishes carefully and answer any questions that I had about the dish itself! The various small bites were all amazing, fresh, and memorable. The standout would be wagyu tartar with wagyu fat powder and egg yolk; an explosive flavor that only gets deeper with each bite. Afterwards you're brought into your first course of a tuna belly (from spain) roll with ankimo and pickles that was texturally complementary; crunch from pickles and two different kinds of soft from the belly and ankimo. I could continue with dish explanations, but they would not do the dish the justice it deserves. The pairings (7) were also phenomenal. The two sake pairings in the beginning were perfect matches, but there was one wine pairing I didn't quite understand. Overall, this would rank as one of my favorite dining experiences and I will definitely return sometime in the spring or summer to try their new menu! I wish Mosu continued success.

    Wow, what a great meal!! This was my first tasting menu experience and I was not disappointed. It took two hours for the meal. The pace was just right. We finished the meal not too full and not at all hungry. The small bites were creative, beautiful to look at, and delicious. One small bite and one main course contained wagyu beef, sublime!! I can't wait to find an excuse to go back.

    Interesting and delicious. Several very memorable dishes in the tasting menu. Will long remember the black tofu with caviar and uni. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Decor upstairs was claustrophobic and stuffy.

    We came to Mosu for my husband's birthday. While the dishes were good, I feel like there's an over usage of certain flavors. There's redundancy on things like sesame and mushrooms. Our bill came out to be 800+ which I felt was a bit over priced. We did order the special which was white truffle over risotto. It was very good but I'm not sure it was worth an extra 68/pp. Overall, we enjoyed the food, the creative flavors, etc but have also been to restaurants with a similar experience that didn't cost quite as much.

    Transcendent. Innovative kaiseki meal like the Michelin 2 Star restaurants in Japan (the 3 Star ones are very traditional). Best possible ingredients, perfectly prepared, dishes simultaneously comfort and intrigue your palate. Each dish is an indulgence. A risotto made with foie gras fat completely blanketed in truffle slices. Black sesame dumpling with uni inside topped with caviar. Shrimp chiffon cake bite with onion crema served with shot of trout roe (and that was just an amuse bouche). Their take on beef tartare was incredible; wagyu, of course, on a crisp puff topped with beef fat snow. A wonderful mountain yam dish (like chawan mushi) filled with uni, lily bulb, and masterfully decorated with chrysanthemum petals. Really great wine list, with outstanding by-the-glass choices.

    Elegant food in a spare but inviting space. Staff (especially our server Mark) was attentive, professional and very well versed. Kitchen outdid itself with one fantastic dish following another, and well paced. Destined to be a great SF dining experience.

    A good place for a special occasion. Food was fantastic; service was fantastic. Ambience: it was extremely quiet -- almost too quiet. Another point: there's no name on the front of the door, so you have to find the unmarked door between 1550 Fillmore and 1560 Fillmore.
