Great date night! Staff was wonderful! Spicy tuna on crunchy rice was truly amazing!!!
Fantastic food. Major kudos to the chefs. They put care into their craft and you can tell. Super nice ambiance and scenery—window table with a view facing the river. Highly recommend and would come again!
Great place to check out at least once. Food is good but entree options are limited. Check menu before you go to ensure they have something you would enjoy.
Outstanding service, spectacular water view, beautiful ship, impeccable food!
You made my husband's birthday and it would be a pleasure to come back
Had a birthday brunch. Anne was our server. She’s friendly and attentive. Ambience is nice and relaxed. Food and price was good. They have pretty good options on their bottomless mimosas. Anne brought out the dessert and “Happy birthday” written on the plate with candle. Great place for brunch!!!
I think that this is a great restaurant, but the price for how small of a portion you get is over the top.
The atmosphere was wonderful. The service was great and the food was delicious!
Beautiful venue. Outstanding service. Thoroughly enjoyable experience
Had an amazing one year of dating anniversary, receive complimentary champagne and amazing service from a waitress who is from Bulgaria. I can’t remember her name. Cocktails are always delicious. Get the crème brûlée as well
I came in with my family for Sunday brunch on my birthday. We had a lovely time, it was exactly what I wanted for the day. We had a nice table at the window overlooking the river, it was very nice. Our server was delightful, she was sweet and professional and just a very good server. We had the French toast and the Belgian waffles and it was SO GOOD. Beautiful presentation and delicious. The boat is just beautiful too. The hostess even took our picture by the lovely staircase at the entrance and they give you a little gift card for you birthday, it was very sweet. I’m definitely looking forward to dining here again.
She said yes!! 🥰
Food was absolutely delicious! Great service. Waiter was very attentive.
Excellent time, asked for a private setting and got an awesome booth. Then there was a dance club upstairs that was great, didn't have to leave to go dancing!
While spending time in Philadelphia with friends, the group decided to find a spot on the river and near the hotel where we were staying. When we went to Open Table to search options, we were intrigued b the story and menu at Moshulu.
Open Table incorrectly identifies this restaurant as offering options less than $30/each and this was not the case, however the food was enjoyable.
Serving of lobster bisque is not worth it. While the table side service was impressive, there was little lobster to be found. A friend asked for crackers and the server replied "we don't have crackers" and walked away. Our night of fun and laughter was quickly squashed by his less than pleasant behavior throughout our dining experience.
Our server, Fernando, was wonderful. The special care we received for our anniversary made it memorable.
Was once a grand and eloquent dining spot. Now more average. Area has built up and view of river has been greatly reduced. $17 to park is outrageous. Almost decided to cancel reservations due to parking fee. Hot beverages were warm, at best. We wanted a nice, quiet location that had great comfort food. We DID get that!
We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and we enjoyed every minute. Gary, our waiter was the best!!!!!!!!!!
It was our 25th wedding anniversary. We had reservations. My husband and I shared an appetizer and then ordered the special. The seafood was not very good. We were disappointed..
i went there for my anniversary and they had a little card that was handed to us along with a free dessert. everyone was super nice and all of the food came out so quick. everything was delicious!
All in all, a great experience. The location and décor make for a great night out. The 2 seat tables are on the small side, making it difficult to have apps and meal plates on the table, along with wine glasses, etc. But, overall, I will plan to return.
They recently underwent a complete renovation and were hosting a wedding on the entire top deck. Service was exceptional- all details were covered and we will absolutely continue our patronage.
Wonderful service and ambience.
The good and service at the Moshulu were excellent and the view and location wonderful. It's truly a unique experience.
Charming and very attentive server. Delicious food. Ship really looks as if it could have been an early 1900s passenger ship, even though it spent its early and mid life carrying cargo. Really appreciated the ship tour given us by the manager. Impressed that he was circulating, greating guests, and keeping a close eye on everything.
Calamari was overcooked. Inadequate sauce accompanied to overcome the overcooking. My fried had swordfish which was dry due to over cooking. On the other hand my scallops may have been a little undercooked but that truly was fine by me. From out of town so will not return to this restaurant but would suggest to others for its novelty location. Riverfront provided a nice walk after dinner. The interior of ship is gorgeous. Worth a look.
From beginning to end it was a great evening
We were here this past Friday and the place was dead. This meant we got a great table with a view, so I'm not complaining at all! Reservation was for 8 and we were walking out the door by 8:50, I mean seriously fast service. Our waitress wasn't very attentive and seemed like she was new. Didn't bring a steak knife out and had to be flagged down for refills. If it weren't for the kitchen pumping out meals so quickly, this could've been a not-so-great experience. The hostess was very polite and accommodating when we arrived and was sure to ask about everything as we were leaving - definitely a great person to have up at the front. Wish I got her name. Onto the food-- I got the Lobster Bisque and some kinda spicy tuna crispy rice thing. Both were amazing. Yum, I mean truly delicious. My manssss got a strip steak and he said it was cooked to perfection. His dish came with Brussels Sprouts and I was disappointed by the way they were prepared. You can't go wrong with roasted sprouts so I'm not sure what ya'll were thinking by sauteing them in sauce to make them all mushy. Sadness. We also split a side of mac & cheese and WOW that stuff is no joke. Well worth the price when you're full after 3 bites. We're talking RICH here, this mac and cheese is part of the .01%. All in all, we had a great time and will surely return for special occasions. Thanks for having us
It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious. The ambiance added to the value of the restaurant. Make sure you make reservations!
Moshulu was a uniquely lovely experience! What an experience being on a ship fashioned as a restaurant. Great lobster and crab cakes. Waiter, Ryan I believe, was excellent-- attentive, engaging, knowledgeable. It was our 29th wedding anniversary and most memorable.
My son and I were visiting colleges in Philly and were told by a friend to check it out; I’m so glad we did! We had a drink on the deck overlooking the water , which was lovely. We ordered the smoked salmon sushi roll, scallops with gnocchi & the crab cake. All were delicious.
Host was very rude, she kept her answers short. The waitress was horrible. She never came to check if we needed refills on drinks, asked how the fast was, or even if we needed anything. I explained to the waitress the drinks was bitter and needed more juice she didn’t often to make a new one. Her energy level was low it seem like it was a bother for her to serve me. I also didn’t understand why you would charge someone $3/person to cut and serve a cake I bought for a birthday. Highly disappointed
Gorgeous remodel. My family is split in NY and DC and we meet at Moshulu at least twice a year. Gorgeous on deck and below.
The only real draw is sitting in an old ship overlooking the water. Other than that the food was just okay. The dining experience was as to be expected. There are better options in the city if you are going out to celebrate something. And it is not worth the price of it just a regular dinner outing.
Had to send food back because it was greasy
Exelente y el servicio de primera
Really special dinner on our trip to philly! Loved everything about it and would go back!
Very unique dining experience. Lots of history to read about regarding Moshulu and a nice harbor view while dining. The food was excellent.
Quite a great spot for a date or intimate gathering, a bit pricy but worth it! Beautiful interior, much more interesting than expected. Overall, great food and great service!
