Mosconi Restaurant & Wine Bar
This is our first time here for a weekend lunch. A great new find and one which will become a regular of ours. Food was first class.
Nice 3 course dinner. Fig and meringue dessert the stand out. will be back
Our side dish of broccolini was forgotten so never made it to the table - that was a bit disappointing. Otherwise, all else was excellent.
Super impressed. Great place. Fantastic food. Thanks so much.
Food delicious. Staff attentive and helpful. Gluten free options were available and we were well looked after in this regard. nothing was nay trouble. Great selection of wine. Dishes were beautifully presented and tasted divine. Everything was perfect. We will definitely be returning and will highly recommend Mosconi to friends. Thanks for a very pleasant evening!
It is a pleasant environment for lunch. Whilst the food is presented well and tasty, the main course portion size is really only entree size. Hence it does not offer value for money. The staff are pleasant and the service attentive.
One of the best meals and service I have had in a long time. Our waitress was wonderful, gave some great recommendations for our food choices and wine paring. She seemed genuinely passionate about the food and ensuring we had the best experience. Thank you!
Mosconi has ambience and a relaxed but professional well run operation. We found the service relaxed but excellent and the food did not disappoint. Everything was effortless - a sign of a well run restaurant. Selection of wine was great. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.
Quality of food comparable to other Italian restaurants however, costs too high for both food and wine. Service very good.
The menu was what attracted me to this restaurant, and it did prove difficult choosing between some amazing-sounding dishes using the best of seasonal produce. However while there was nothing wrong with the meals, the balance between flavours just seemed to be a bit off. For instance a dish of Moreton bay bug ravioli with shellfish oil was very strong in flavour, and I felt it was too strong for the delicate ravioli. Similarly with a dish of goat curd gnocchi, the sauce (or brodo) with asparagus, artichoke and I think peas, were lost in the strong flavours of the goats curd. Portion size is generous, so a starter of risotto-stuffed zucchini flowers left me unable to eat much of a main of duck pasta, which was lacking in flavour (needed seasoning?).
Wines by the glass were great, if on the pricier side, and service also very good.
The waitress did mention that as there was only a small kitchen on-site, the main prep was done in their other restaurant, Vine, so is it perhaps that on-site seasoning and finishing needs a bit more finesse?
Hi Lorraine, we are really sorry that there was a level of confusion regarding the offsite kitchen. Both restaurants are separate entities, the only thing Vine supplies Mosconi with is daily made pasta as they have a commercial pasta machine. I want to be very clear that everything else is made on premise and fresh to order. Thank you for your opinion regarding the balance of flavours on our dishes. We will definitely take this on board going forward. We really appreciate your feedback.
Good food, service and atmosphere. A nice alternative to Beccofino
Amazing little Italian restaurant. Would 100% recommend.
This is a place to enjoy divine food, beautiful wine and wonderful service. The zucchini flowers, Moreton bay bug ravioli and deconstructed lemon meringue pie were to die for and our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was casual but intimate - great for a date, anniversary or catch up with friends. Thoroughly recommend.
Food and wine list are exceptional, highly recommend.
This is a first class dining experience in every aspect. Casual, relaxed but truly excellent.
Very delightful restaurant food wine and service was excellent.
Awesome Italian ! An absolute must do food destination.
Far too noisy. Food was brilliant but the noise was unbearable. We asked to be moved downstairs which was a bit better.
Great in all aspects. Food service and value for money !
We really enjoyed our night at Mosconi. The fitout is beautiful and has a gorgeous European feel. I loved the curved roofline and the lighting which made it feel very intimate and cozy. Our meals were really tasty but I felt the serving size was a bit small considering the cost per meal (which is higher than other great Italian restaurants in the area). I would go back, but due to price point, it would only be for a special occasion.
A beautiful meal, great environment supported by excellent service!
Best Italian in brisbane for food and wine. Great location tucked behind James Street.
Great space and the food was lovely.
Just a tad more refinement with the service would be great. We were in twice this week and the service would be the only thing we could possibly pick at.
Thanks, we will be back and we can see your lovely restaurant being a regular.
The food was impeccable, the wine list has a great selection of different styles. The restaurant itself is well styled. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Great night out.
The service was not good, we waited 5 minutes to be attended to upon arrival. Then we got seated right next to the door so people kept coming up directly behind us to wait which was a bit awkward. Then we waiting another 10 minutes or so before anyone came back to take our drinks order. We ordered our mains at this stage as well. About 2 minutes later our food came out before we had received our drink. Our drinks then came halfway through our meal. After the average service we decided to finish what we had and went somewhere else.
Although, the food and drink I ordered was delicious (probably the nicest meal I've had) I wouldn't recommend it as the meal portions were so small and the service was extremely average.
