MOSAIC Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I met a friend for lunch at 1 pm. We had not seen each other in many years. We ate/chatted for 2 1/2 hours, and I never felt rushed to leave. I did watch to make sure that no one was waiting for a table, though, as I didn't want to be inconsiderate...
I need to come more often and vary my order, as I always order the same thing...Cobb Salad with crab cakes...
Only suggestion: Offer crackers (even better, bread) with the salad...
Thank you for providing a pleasant experience.
Our waitress was very nice, efficient...
HORRIBLE- waitress was miserable. 25 minutes before we all got our drinks. Food another 25 minutes and then didn't even come out all together. Then...salad did not have the toppings in it as listed. 3 year old cheese/egg quesadilla came with no egg but with bacon! Sent it back and waited another 15 min to get the cheese/egg version. No apology or acknowledgment from waitress. Also was not told they were out of Avocado toast until ordering it ... only then to find out they DID have avocado, just not 'avocado spread.' Last time I give it a try b/c this has been miserable place each time...this was the cherry on top.
We were a group of 4 ladies out for a day of shopping and dinner. We were early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and waited and enjoyed a drink and a very friendly bartender. Dinner was excellent - the service was great - of course - being early - there were not too many people yet! The filet Mignon was excellent - the loaded mashed potatoes were great.... My friend had the rib-eye - it was tasty - a little tough though...but cooked correctly. I enjoyed the seared Salmon- it was wonderful . I highly recommend this place for date night and family or friend gatherings. The dessert was amazing - butter cake with vanilla ice cream!
I was so looking forward to ordering the shrimp and grits and to my dismay it was not on the new menu I was quite disappointed. I have had them before and know they are one if your specialties. So hope it will b back on menu for dinner and not just for brunch.
We ate outside on a lovely fall evening with "the first night of the new menu". Not being regulars, this was lost on us, but we opted to share two appetizers and an entree for the two of us. The appetizer selection was excellent and we had a hard time selecting just two. Our entree was a Mosaics signature dish we had enjoyed before - Sriracha Chicken with Mac and Cheese. It was as delicious under the new menu as it had been previously. My husband LOVED the custom Manhattan option for his cocktail. I think it will become a Mosaics Signature item!
Always a pleasure dining here!
Absolutely love the mimosa flight
Great salads and the eggs Benedict was enjoyed by my husband and daughter
My salmon was cooked beautifully
Kenya is a fantastic server with such a beautiful smile
Thank you again for a lovely meal
We visited for brunch. A few minor issues but affected the experience nonetheless. First, the music as we walked in was loud rave style music. It continued as we sat down but mellowed as we were there. Very weird for a Sunday brunch. Second, the hostess seemed annoyed by our presence. We assumed, based on her behavior and lack of any energy, she was hung over and didn’t care to be there. Third, my omelet was undercooked and they were nice enough to remake it but it took a really long time (meaning my friend was finished before my meal came back). So I’d return again but maybe after giving some other places a try first.
I was already a fan but now my 3 friends are fans. I chose MOSAIC for my birthday dinner. It was little too humid to dine on the patio but would live to as the weather gets cooler. Convenient and beautiful lovely location, beautiful and comfortable interior. LOVE the Bicycle Spring Rolls and Smoke Gouda Dip. Can't wait to go back!
My friends and I recently enjoyed an outstanding dinner at Mosaic. The food was thoughtful, creative and delicious: our conversation slowed up for a while as everybody focused on the delicious food in front of us! I had risotto with chicken, with exactly the perfect amount of salt and consistency of the rice, but I was a little jealous of the gorgeous duck breast that my friend wolfed down. Another let me try a perfectly al dente string bean, something normally reduced to mush at other restaurants. Our total bill of about $150 for three people was actually pretty reasonable considering that we all got dessert and drinks. The service also deserves special mention: we got great recommendations, and when a friend really disliked the wine that came recommended, the server was very concerned about helping him make a new choice. I would encourage folks to give Mosaic a try.
Very classy treatment by the staff. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and specials. Ambiance was fine until a family with small children was seated by us. It was hard to hear our own conversation after that. Suggestion; seat couples together, families together and the "party people" together. Otherwise, a fine experience!
Appetizers were adequate, but none of the four meals were not good. Particularly disappointing was the daily special, which was described as a chicken and bean burrito with rice. It should have been described as a rice burrito, as there was a scant amount of chicken and only about a dozen beans. It did not appear or taste fresh.
We dined early, so rather quiet and peaceful, conducive to conversation. Shared three appetizers: chicken spring rolls, poboy oyster sandwich, and spicy corn dip. All excellent, and corn dip did keep true to it's name. Nice atmosphere. Interesting glass light fixtures contribute to decor.
We typically love Mosaic and was ready for a great meal. I ordered the coconut caipirinha - I love this drink, I was dreaming about this drink all day long. When I tasted it, all I could taste was lime - a lot of lime. I didn't care for it, so I was just not going to drink. My husband tasted it and didn't want it either. When the server came back, I asked her if she could bring more coconut (Coco Lopez) because I couldn't taste it. She brought back that with more lime. It was all mixed together - so it tasted, again, like lime. She asked if I wanted another and I just said - same bartender would make it the same and then she went into how bartenders make it different. If this is a signature drink - all bartenders should make it the same. That is how every other bar / restaurant we dine with does.
For dinner, I order my normal - the honey sriracha honey chicken &mac. Normally this is divine. Not this time. The brocollini was over cooked, I didn't touch it. The mac and cheese was the best thing on the plate. It wasn't the consistency it normally is, but it was the best on the plate. The chicken was overcooked and burnt. The last time I ordered it, the chicken was juicy and perfect.
My husband ordered one of their specials - a chicken enchilada. It was a square! It wasn't the normal oblong shape. He was still optimistic and tried it. He said the chicken was dry. He about half off it and said it was just too dry.
So, we will not be coming back here for a while. It is a shame too - this is close to our house and we have enjoyed all of there food - up until now.
And the topper - I was charged for the drink. I would have been impressed if they wouldn't have charged - that would have been the best customer service to show - but I paid for it. The waitress was tipped and we didn't say anything - no scene. We just won't come back.
The food was really wonderful and the servers were very pleasant although a little less than fully attentive at times. The only significant issue we had was with the tables. Many of the tables including ours are high top, heavy wooden tables with tall barstool-type chairs (with backs). The table has a large, wide shelf underneath, right at knee-level. Even the shortest among us had trouble with our knees bumping the shelf, and my mother-in-law actually cut her knee on it. No idea why anyone would design a table this way. Next time we will request a regular table, but this did not take anything away from the food, which was great.
