This was an amazing experience our server tim was amazing and so knowledgeable on the menu !
Our servers, Tim and Jessy were absolutely amazing. They made our dining experience memorable and created such a fun environment. Our food was amazing. The presentation along with portions and overall taste was out of this world. We also indulged in a couple cocktails which brought the whole evening together. I’ll recommend this place to anyone who wants to share an amazing evening with that special person.
Tim handled all 23 of us on his own and was very energetic and organized. Enjoyed the setting having a semi private area, the service was good, and the food was delicious. The shrimp appetizer was probably my favorite.
This restaurant was a little pricey but worth every penny, especially with a Groupon. The food was delicious and the service was excellent thanks to our very memorable waiter, Tim. The bar was crowded since it was happy hour, but the restaurant was mostly empty since we booked an early dinner (5pm). The ambiance was nothing too special. We sat by the floor to ceiling windows looking out at a tram stop and doing a bit of people-watching. I would definitely go here again for a special occasion or to impress a date!
Some dish are too salty.
Nice, upscale Chinese restaurant with a hint of Asian fusion. A bit pricey though. But the quality of the food and ingredients above more authentic Chinese restaurants. Available Groupon deals can offset the cost though.
Good meal. Service was quick and efficient. Menu is a mix of Asian style and American cuisine. Pork belly buns were good. Meat was tender. Calamari portion was a good portion, but not particularly favorable. Overall it was a good experience.
We have been to mosaic 2 times now and we have had a great experience both times. Our server Tim last Thursday night was very attentive and cognasant of all of his guests and what tables needed tending to. We brought some friends n as a surprise and low and behold they had been there. Great experience, great food, and great fun. Keep up the good work. We will be back soon. Have a wonderful weekend.
Our waiter was excellent, food was great
Fun get together with friends, easy to carry on a conversation!
The bar music was too loud for the dining room, which made it hard to talk to our table mates. Food was very healthy and fresh. We questioned the Creme Brulee, it was a gray green color, tasted ok, but I would never want another order looking like that. Our waiter was a little bit much, even sat down using another table's chair, and thrusted himself into our conversation.
Came here on a Sunday and it was quiet. Just what I needed. Some quiet time. My husband and I got couple good drinks. I got the Chinese lady and lychee drink
We came here early on a Friday evening before a concert at the civic theater. They had great happy hour and live music. The service was friendly, Matt was his name. The food was great! We ordered the ginger sea bass, Mongolian rib eye and garlic noodles. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great! A pleasant surprise and we will definitely be back!
Asian fusion food is excellent. I especially like the Chilean Sea Bass dish.
Did not enjoy this place at all. My salad was not fresh, the greens were at least a day old. Also, tuna on my salad didn’t look like it was ok to eat. The pomegranate drink was way too sweet. The chicken was a joke, asparagus was the only thing that was edible. The server was nice and did his best. Sorry, but it’s a one star restaurant.
I came here on a Saturday night before a show and they were very busy so the service was a bit lacking and we ended up cancelling our rice order after realizing how long it was taking to arrive. I will definitely go back again but maybe at a different, less busy hour so that I can try a few of the other items on the menu. I got the chicken and loved it. Miso soup was tasty. The cocktails were great too. Will definitely go back.
Delicious food, good service (crowded when we were there) and friendly servers! Next time we are in San Jose we will be back to Mosaic! Very convenient when staying at Four Points by Sheraton!!
Our waiter was a bit over the top in his comments, but it didn't ruin the experience. The food is tasty, and the cocktail I had was great!
Nice appetizers and entrees. Food was good. But service was very spotty. It felt like i was in a hotel bar not above average dining restaurant. It was definitely a hotel restaurant that merged into a hotel bar that merged into an outdoor event space that was going full blast and had a lot of dancing going on. Its all good if you are at the event and staying at the hotel. Its unique if you are expecting a nice above average restaurant for two.
Excellent spot for a girls night out. Food, drinks and service was amazing from the start. Will definitely go back.
Tender rib eye with a delicious red wine reduction. Large portions of Ahi on the entrée, nicely seared and encrusted in sesame. Enjoyable meal. Tim provided excellent service and was a perfect compliment to the enjoyment of the evening.
Excellent service! Large appetizers and great tasting entrees. Definately coming back.
We were at Mosaic for a belated birthday celebration. Restaurant is very nice, more on the upscale side. First of all our waiter Tim was amazing. His personality and professionalism were really appreciated by all of us. He made us all feel special. The food was outstanding. We ordered family style. We were shocked how large the prawns were in the fried rice and honey walnut prawns. Both dishes were great. The Mongolian beef uses rib eye cut and was excellent. I would also highly recommend the Sea Bass if it in on the menu. They give you a huge portion and the flavor was just right. We will definitely be back again!
The food was outstanding. Thumbs up all around the table. We all shared a noodle dish, rice dish, mongolian beef and scallops. Tempura veggie appetizer excellent! They were busy, and had multiple servers tag teaming our table, which led to some inefficiency, but that's a minor quibble for a Saturday night. Nicely appointed dining area, but overall lounge and bar ambiance.
The service here is always excellent, the waiters are helpful, knowledgeable about special dietary needs and have great personalities too. The food is very flavorful too!
Great place for nicer ambient and server (Tim) that is perfect on service
Excellent entrees, large portions.
We always have a terrific time at Mosaic as a group. We've gone there repeatedly.
The restaurant was busy on a Saturday night, so it was a good thing we had reservations. Our server was excellent - she did not badger me whilst I was waiting for my friend, only once asked if I wanted to start with appetizers maybe. She brought my wine quickly and refilled the water glasses, showing just the right amount of attention without hovering. The menu offered enough gf choices for my friend. We had the Mongolian stir-fry with beef and the rack of lamb. Both were cooked very well; a typical Mongolian beef with the right dose of spiciness and a rich sauce. Both portions were quite satisfying, and the only reason we didn't take our leftovers was the fact we were attending a performance, otherwise we would not have left that delicious food behind.
The food was excellent and the service even better! Tim is a fantastic waiter!
The Hostess and the waiters were very nice. Our water glass was filled frequently. 5 dishes ordered and like Ginger Smoked Chilean Seabass the best. Garlic Noodle, Mongolian Chicken were just ok. Tiramisu and Lava Cake are to die for. Bit pricey but used a Living Social certificate.
I was skeptical when I heard this restaurant is inside of a Four Points Sheraton. :-) Happily, all turned out beyond my expectations. Great for Happy Hour -- which we took advantage of. Lots of variety in the menu and many bar bite choices. We sat outside which was relaxing. I'd definitely go back.
I think the menu has changed recently but the food and service are still great!
The bass and the bulgogi were pretty good. The tomato bisque was not.
Beware that this is a hotel restaurant, but the restaurant does not validate parking, so there is a hidden tax on this experience.
Service was great and nice quiet place to talk. Seabass melts in my mouth and was very delicious.
I hadn't been here in over a year and don't know why. It was great! The Mongolian stirfry was excellent and the walnut prawns we very good. The only problem I have here is deciding what to get. There are so many good items on the menu.
The staff are friendly and fast. Very helpful. I won't forget to come here next time we have one of those "I don't know, where do you want to go?" moments.
Great food! Fast service, Tim our server rocked!!
Mosaic is a not-so-hidden gem in the neighbourhood. Located 'around the block' from downtown, it takes the bottom half of a hotel, which, usually, doesn't give it much of a recommendation. Take note: park anywhere downtown and hike it to Mosaic.
We usually use deep fried calamari as an indicator of the cooking skills of a restaurant - this plate had large, thumb size chunks of calamari that was crispy on the outside and tender, tender protein inside. Sweet onion and jalepeno was use as filler, but good themselves. Ahi salad (poke) was well done (!) and the potstickers flavourful with just enough bite in the wrapping. The only entrée we tried, the (something or other) beef was melt in your mouth tender and delitefully rare. We definitely intend to hike it (oh, so far) over to Mosaic again, and again, and again. And, oh, yeah. Tim is awesome.
We've been to Mosaic many times because it is close to the California Theatre where we attend Symphony Silicon Valley and other arts performances. This time I guess I ordered wrong. I had the soft-shelled crab, thinking it would be less salty than the lamb chops (my usual choice), and the tempura fried vegetables. The batter on both dishes was crispy but very thick, especially on the vegetables. It was not like the light batter of tempura one finds in Japanese restaurants. Also with the exception of two small pieces of broccoli, all of my vegetables were zucchini. I was expecting carrots, squash, green beans, or some other mixture (I had requested no onions). And everything was excessively salty. On the plus side, we got our usual friendly excellent service.
Excellent service and food. Tim was our waiter and he was fun.
tim was the best waiter i have had in awhile. pork belley tremendous
