Mosaic Restaurant and Lounge- San Jose
Service is great & the food is even better. Tim took amazing care of us and the ladies at the bar as well! Always great coming to Mosaic. Never disappoints.
We went on a Saturday night after booking a reservation through Open Table. We grabbed a Happy Hour drink before being seated. Our server Jesse, was very helpful assisting us navigating the menu. We ended up having the egg drop soup- excellent, baby greens with asian dressing which wasn’t that memorable, but the sesame crusted seared Ahi tuna was cooked to perfection and fresh and came with Cucumber seaweed salad. We also ordered the Thai Red Curry noodles which were spicy as ordered and went well with the tuna.
Overall a good experience with kudos to Jesse. I thought the items on the menu were a bit pricey, with most entrees north of $30, but the portions are generous.
A Groupon definitely was a good idea.
I had expected the restaurant to be busier on a Saturday, but only two more tables were occupied. The Bar however was bustling.
Great food and Tim is the best waiter! Will for sure be back!
Our waiter was extremely personable and friendly, he insisted that he just wanted us to have a good time. The food was amazing -fairly pricely, but nevertheless amazing. We ordered the pot-stickers, wonton soup and shared the steak with prawns dish. Only complaint would be the wonton soup was pretty bland and only had two wontons.
Great friendly service and very attentive along with deliciously seasoned food and large portions. Highly recommend
You can have a drink at the nice bar sitting very comfortably and then move to the dining room. Excellent food menu, very good service.
Good experience, but we were not aware the menu had changed. We went there anticipating the previous menu, but were disappointed to see it changed. The food was still good, but it was not what we had gone there for.
If you would like to have mix of Asian and American food in San Jose, this is the place for. Foods are innovative based upon Asian taste, including fresh 'sashimi' grade raw fish. Waiters are so friendly and helpful. Say if you have guests from all over the world, this would be a wonderful place for dinner to have any kind of flavor you can enjoy. Also, they have decent local draft beer, and wonderful list of bottles of wine.
When you are in the area, and would like to enjoy asian food, this is the place. Not authentic asian restaurant, but could enjoy asian like food, really fusion, mixed up, food of several asian taste, including Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Draft beer is good, too. Also, they have decent wine list.
Came there for my wife's birthday and Tim our waiter made it so special.
Shared two appetizers: prawns and hamachi plus crab rice with my friend. Then we split the molten chocolate cake with coffee ice cream. It was delicious and our waiter Tim was a hoot!! Definitely plan to return💕
Been a while since we were at Mosaic. The Sea Bass was excellent, pork chops good. Tim our server was attentive, involved, comfortably professional and a pleasure to deal with. We would recommend Mosaic and return again.
The restaurant has a new chef and the food is outstanding, especially the duck and sea bass. Additionally, front of house staff does an outstanding job of making guests feel welcome and catering to their needs. We will definitely be going back.
A great hidden gem in downtown San Jose with a Asian Fusion flare. We had the tuna tartar, duck breast and sea bass, all were wonderful and some of the best of each that we have had.
Delicious food and excellent customer service. I will definitely be back!
Great food and experience, as usual. We got our favorite waiter Tim again! He makes every visit memorable.
Service outstanding and food excellent. Highly reccmmend
Met friends for happy hour and dinner got seated immediately but no server for 40 minutes. Missed happy hour and every drink we ordered ty hey said they did not have. While staff hung out we waited for service. Did not even get seated for dinner reservations. Won't be back again.
Not much vegetarian options and the food didn’t taste great. Some dishes were ok but nothing to rave about. Service was excellent though. It was also too cold as if no heaters were turned on. Likely would never return again and if didn’t have the Groupon, would have found it as an over priced, not worth the price at all food.
Excellent food and service
Tim was an awesome waiter and we really enjoyed his recommendations.
It was fantastic. Our Waiter was fabulous. I forgot his name , but he is a young , very knowledgeable man. He served us at %;30 pm last Saturday and suggested a coquetel : Moscow Mule: we had three of those! Very, very good.
Food is great. Everything was fine right. Or server Tim was excellent. He made sure our special food request was met, he paid attention to the pace of the food. The only thing could be better was the noise level. The bar area next to the restaurant had some birthday celebration. They were super loud. Some may think it's great for the energetic feel. But that is not a good thing if you're looking for a quiet dinner.
Definitely recommend this place my husband and I made a dinner reservation And our server Tim Solomon was Very friendly and I love how he gave us recommendations with what to eat we will definitely come back again
Our wait staff was most attentive. Their wine recommendation was quite apt. The appetizers were delishes. The stuffed salmon was a bit dry . I liked the crispiness on it but my husband didnot. The vegetables retained their crispness. All in all a very nice dinner at a very reasonable price.
Superb dining experience. Service was exceptional and the food was perfectly prepared and well presented. Would definitely recommend if you like Japanese cuisine.
Entrees were on the pricey side. It looks like it might be better to go with noodles and small plates and we might try that next time. Wine list was limited but looked like beers had a much better selection.
I've tried Mosaic in the past for business lunches and they were adequate.
I took family there for dinner this week and was very disappointed. The filet was done okay as were the scallops, but then it is quite easy to prepare those dishes.
My miso-ginger salmon was overcooked, tasteless and the accompaniments were soggy.
The lobster-garlic noodles were awful, the noodle were so overcooked a baby could have gummed them, no texture at all. Perhaps the chef had a bad night but there was no taste at all in the dish, let alone layers of flavor that I would have expected.
For a lunch place, acceptable but for dinner they are not ready for primetime.
Nice atmosphere, food was outstanding, and Tim our waiter was spot on with his food recommendations as well as his drink s. 5 star easy
Very food, creative food items. As a foodie, I always look for different taste sensations. My wife commented that it was the best salmon dish she has had....not expected. The wait staff was excellent. Our waiter was attentive, humorous, made us feel like we were regulars in his approach and style.....he made it a special experience. We used a Groupon which provided great value, but I would consider going without the extra incentive....it was that good an experience.
Mosaic old-fashion is one of the best. Very smooth with a hint of bitterness and sweetness.
We had bought two Groupons to use just for dinner tonight but we were told AFTER we had finished dinner that we could not use it tonight and had to pay a very hefty price due dinner which we were not able to afford. The inky reason we had come here was because of the Groupon deal, but no where was it mentioned that we could not use it tonight
Ask for tim, hez the best, does suggest the menu based on our palate. Very friendly staff. Apt for families too. Reasonable price, quality of food is goodand they give a good quantity of food too. 👍👍
The food was well prepared and tasted great. Service was very good. I would put the price at $$$ instead of $$.
We didn’t pre book anything fir Xmas. After calling and visiting several other restaurants, the Fairmont recommended Mossic.
The location inside the Four Points is a bit deceiving. It’s quite a nice restaurant.
Below average food, could have microwaved frozen Chinese food. Too expensive for quality of food.
We always have excellent service and the menu always gives us great options. Everything is full of flavor and so we keep coming back!
We reserved for dinner before a concert, but the Happy hour was going on at the time, so we decided to go for it instead. The drinks were good, as well as the appetizers, but I wish the appetizers were steamimg hot. Taste was pretty good, but not excellent.
We sat on one of the tables at the bar area, and every time someone opened the doors to the restaurant, we would get a cold breeze, so that was the part we liked the least. I wished they would close that entrance when it's cold outside, and use the hotel entrance instead.
I would like to try their dinner menu next time we go to San Jose.
Our group of 8 really enjoyed our dinner and Matthew got us on our way in time for us to be seated for our concert. Great place.
overpriced food, nothing to come back for. Dessert was stale, only dish worth offering was Mongolian Stir Fry
