We were able to eat outside which was great as it was a beautiful day. Food was not spectacular. Went there for views of the bridge and you could not see it from the restaurant. Would eat somewhere else when we pass through Redding again.
Having dined at Mosaic many times since they opened I thought I would be writing a good review rather than a dismal one. All started well, as we were seated almost immediately upon arriving promptly at our reservation time. table location was acceptable and we were quickly greeted and drinks served. I have nothing bad to say about the food as it was good as per usual (we always get the charcuterie board) Our server was good, I do not remember her name, however she was pleasant and not overbearing. After our party of 4 had finished dinner, we ordered 2 desserts. We were just about done with our desserts and the server was taking care of the payment. We were obviously wrapping things up at this point. This is where it spiraled downward... Our table was then approached by a man, I assume was in management due to the nature of his attire. He proceeded to ask us to move to a table right behind us, as they had a large party coming in and they needed our table. What? You're kidding me right? Had he taken the time to look at our table and see the signed credit card receipt and finished desserts he may have held his request. But no even after us telling him that it was extremely tacky that he would even ask us to move. He continued with his unapologetic request as if our $250+ dining experience was nothing to them.
Needless to say I will be hard pressed to return to Mosaic. Shame on you Mosaic, I will take my business elsewhere.
Our reservation was at 6:30 and when we sat down at the table, our server informed us that they did not have either of the steaks offered on the menu available. Our server told us that one of their staff had Sous Vide the steaks earlier in the day and that they cooked them to “extremely” well done. We spent the rest of the evening wondering why they didn’t go to the butcher and buy more steak.
Had lunch on the back patio. Very pleasant setting. Service was very good. Tabitha, our waitress was very friendly. Food was very good. Several vegetarian/vegan options. A few more would be nice. Cost was appropriate for the meal.
We enjoyed the patio. Some of the lunch should be appetizers or the waitress should let you know about the portion size. We had to order another pizza. Overall everyone was happy with their food.
Really enjoyed it
Very nice date night for my wife and I. The restaurant met all of our expectations. Looking forward to going back!
We love coming to mosaic, the food and service are equally superb.
As always a fabulous meal with exceptional service.
The food was good but very small portions compared to the cost of the meals. The red onions in the salad were hot not sweet. I would still go again, this is the fifth time we've eaten there and all the other times were satisfactory.
I have never been disappointed with their food or service. This is a great restaurant for family gatherings or a quiet lunch with friends.
This is the coolest restaurant in Redding, Very hip, close to the beautiful Sundial Bridge and Turtle bay adventure park. Also attached to the beautiful new Sheraton Hotel and accross the street from Reddings Civic Autitorium
I ordered a spinach salad with salmon. Salmon was old and spinach was wilted and dark in places. Old cherry tomatoes rounded out the entree. Unacceptable. I should have sent the salad back. My two companions had the chicken caesar salad and said that it was 'fine'.
Our server was great. Unfortunately the menu hadn’t been updated in a while and they no longer carried 2 of the beers we tried to order off the menu. Other than that we were very happy with our experience.
A 50th anniversary dinner here for the two of turned into one of those perfect experiences where everything clicked . The Saturday night crowd was lively and cheery; the bar was invitingly chic, and our Old Fashioneds were perfect. The hostess, waiters, manager were all personable and professional . The food was ample and delicious. Naturally, we shared our happy occasion with the staff, and they went above and beyond to make our night even more special with champagne and dessert. Mosaic is like a “public service” here in little old Redding: a cool and classy “uptown” place coupled with Redding warmth and friendliness .
First of all our server Brandon was incredible.... patient and thoughtful and very attentive. He MADE our night and handled special requests w grace. So grateful for him.
The filets are amazing but very pricey ($43). Our pizzas were tasty and so were the appetizers - carpaccio and calamari fritti... but the vegetarian meal, a cauliflower steak was pretty dull.
It gets loud in there as they fill up. We added to the noise w our two young children, so we didn’t mind.... but it is very hard to carry on a decent conversation in this place when busy. The outdoor patio is lovely and a great place to dine al fresco when it is not too hot.
Try Mosaic. I believe it is rhe best restaurant in the Redding area.
The most wonderful dinner! Thank you for making our 1st date (technically), absolutely amazing!
Overall, we found Mosaic to be a bit of a disappointment. Wine by the glass list - especially reds - was pedestrian at best. Given that the steaks here are priced as much as they are in upper tier Napa restaurants, not having really decent reds for pairing seems off balance. In addition, they were out of Port the evening we were there, so after dinner drinks were off too. I expected more given the generally good reviews. That said..for a great pizza and a good beer, this seemed like the place to be.
Loved it! One of our favorite go tos
The food and service were excellent! Our water was very attentive but not bothersome and we had no problem with our orders. The food itself was delicious. I had the airline chicken and loved it. At our table we also had pizza and a pasta dish and everyone enjoyed the food!
Jason Mustard was our server. He was GREAT! He was attentive, kept an eye on our order, and overall service was very good.
We had a lovely lunch. Our server was great. My husband had the The Classic pizza it was huge and the crust was great he said it was delicious. I did steal a bite it was delicious. I had the Spinach Salad with Smoked Salmon, it was wonderful. This was my fourth time I am trying something new every time. So far I have not had a bad meal there. Plus the service is great.
Chicken was dry and overcooked, Brussel sprouts were cold. Pizza was cold and greasy. Service was mediocre at best normally leave 20+% with good service only left 15%. Been here twice before and no complaints tonight however was a different story. Off Day? Could be but none the less was disappointed
Mosaic has improved greatly over this past year. The food, menu and service are so much better now. We had a few appetizers - small portions for the price but still very good. Had the asparagus and the shishito peppers to start - pretty good. We all had the rib eye steaks and, to my surprise, they were ALL cooked perfectly to order - absolutely perfect - and they were delicious. I didn't eat the potatoes but both my Mom and Sister said their potatoes were cold. The main reason for not giving 5* is because of the cocktails. It has been a very common theme here that the cocktails are very {very} weak. The first one was pretty good but the second one was juice. I just don't think it's right to cut corners on customers like that. Overall still really enjoyed the food and service and will still come back.
We had a great experience. We were there for a work lunch with coworkers from out of town. Great food and service.
Good food and good service at a reasonable price. The salmon dish I had was very nicely prepared. My husband was not as impressed with the seafood pasta, but he said it was pretty good and he ate it all.
Food and service were excellent. Our first time there and we will be back.
Prices are high end but the issue for me was none of the meals come with a dinner salad or bread. Those are extra on top of the expensive entree.
The food we had was all very good, and I could tell that some real creative thought was put into some of the dishes that we had. The frito misto (mixed fried seafood) was well done, with light breading and delicious original-recipe sauces. The seared ahi was also good: the salad that came with it was creative, although I thought for the price there should have been more protein in the dish. My ribeye was a good cut, and perfectly cooked medium rare as ordered, though crazy-thick! Sides were only ok, with the mashed potatoes just being mashed potatoes, and the asparagus was decidedly undercooked for my taste. Dessert was terrific. Both the apple tart and the chocolate pot were very tasty, and the tart in particular showed off the chef's skill and creativity.
I think the place is a little more expensive than is justified by the experience. $12 cocktails and $18 apps are a bit fancier at other places. Service was nothing special but there wasn't anything wrong with it, either. Nice ambiance, comfortable chairs, good lighting, modern decor all around.
Beautiful setting. Server was very good at directing us as to what we might like after asking us our preferences. Dinner was delicious, leisurely and wine was absolutely what we like. A dining experience for sure. We will be back
First people seating in the dining room and were seated next to the servers prep station. Kind of disappointing. Asked about a lemon drop martini and was steered toward the drink menu with nothing similar, didn't have the beer my husband ordered - although it was on the menu. The beer and wine menu was lacking in selection. But from here it got better, yay! The lettuce wrap appetizer was delicious and the margarita pizza was probably the best I've ever had. I really nice crust and sauce with a subtle hint of fennel seed(?) So good. I would definitely order both of these again and we will come back. Such a great location and good food.
4 th of July celebration. Ate at restaurant two nights and monthly when I come over on business. Service was very slow on July 3rd, even though restaurant wasn’t very busy. Had to wait over 10 minutes, just for drink orders and o over half table was not asked. Large party of eight ( if you can call it that). Second night service was better ( Amanda), however food quality and price are not what I receive when I travel ( which is weekly). It seems overall experience has gone done hill. Checking out this morning a couple was told by front desk of hotel restaurant was not going to be open at 7:30 am ( Holiday weekend, you kidding me), they were running late. Sounds like a management problem to
me.
A qualified, yes. Busy night so service, while pleasant, was slow. Nice wine list, reasonably priced. Scallops were not fully cooked. Signature burger was middling. But great location. We'll try it again, but wasn't overly wowed.
It was good except for making a reservation and requesting an outside table and then being sat at an inside table and being told “it’s really hard to get outside seating when the weather is this nice”... there were several open tables on both patios. The hostess just blew off the request and gave us a really fake, almost condescending “smile”. The rest of the staff, especially our waiter Benjamin were wonderful.
Their Reuben sandwiches are incredible. I took my mother for her birthday, and they gave her a free dessert.
Expensive. Not a good value but nice atmosphere. Could have larger portions
Too loud, menu limited and expensive for what you get. Charge for parking and service was mediocre. Had better food for half the money before. Good place for appetizers and drinks, prob won go for dinner again.
Incredible service
Great Fathers Day brunch! Loved the mimosa bar! Mosaic will definitely be our new “go to” for brunch.
Excellent food and service! The food presentation is superb and the drinks are one of a kind.
