Morton's The Steakhouse - World Trade Center Ratings and Reviews
Had dinner with wife for date night even though I still had to go back to work after. Garret our waiter was personable and excellent. Everyone was spot on as was the food. Had a really good time and will return. I even got a call from the manager over the weekend following up and making sure I had a great experience. Excellent service and great food. Lobster Mac is awesome. Steaks tender and succulent prepared to perfection.
I am a steak connoisseur and have tried many local and chain steakhouses. Steak is my favorite food and for some reason I had never been to Mortons. I have been to many of the competitor chain steakhouses, some excellent, some average and some just bad. I am not at all opposed to spending top dollar for a good steak. I do get upset when I spend top dollar and I end up with a steak that I can get at the lowest end steakhouse. Having said that, I was hoping for the best, but not sure if I would get that. I had heard that Mortons had consistently good steaks from one restaurant to another. So on to my review.
Service - Upon entry I was greeted very quickly and felt like a valued customer the moment I walked in. I was quickly seated and had 2 servers attending to me within a couple minutes. I had a couple questions from the menu and they were quickly answered with confidence by the wait staff.
I ordered a couple glasses of wine along with a Center Cut Prime Ribeye and a side of sauteed broccoli. The wait was very reasonable for my food. Upon arrival the plate for my steak was very hot. To my pleasure my steak was also hot. The steak was incredibly tender and seasoned absolutely perfectly! The broccoli was also very good, it could have been cooked may 1 minute less for a more crisp texture, but it wasn't to well done either. I have eaten steaks all over, with Brazilian steakhouses being my favorite, but I must say this steak was one of the best steaks I have EVER had at a restaurant!! I would say definitely in my top 3! I am still thinking about that steak 2 days later!
I will definitely be back when I am in the area for work, but fortunately we have a new location near me. My wife and I will be trying the local one real soon!!
Great work Mortons! As long as you can replicate this locally, you will have a huge fan!
Service is always tremendous. Decided last minute to go to dinner with a client. Sat in the bar area and it was fun. Leonard always adds that special touch to make me feel important especially when I am with clients. The two bottles of red didn't disappoint either.
We did restaurant week, I cant find a single negative thing to say. My friend and I select a different downtown steakhouse to try every couple of months and I think this was the best one. Filet was perfect. Great experience, its a little out of the way but well worth the walk.
For a restaurant that charges 60+ dollars for a steak you would expect a full pour when you order a drink. The drinks at this Morton's were the barely more than a measured pour. Very disappointing when you spend $250+. for dinner for 2, and you don't even get an honest pour. Not sure if this is a Landry's thing, but I almost always get a full pour at others Landry's restaurants.
My friends and I went to Morton's for restaurant week. It was a spectacular value. The food was impeccable, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect. The cocktails were a little expensive but I haven't had a French martini like that in a long tome, it was perfect. We enjoyed the whole experience, from appetizer to dessert. Well Worth it!
A friend and myself visited for the first time the financial district location of Morton's. We requested seating in a quiet location of the restaurant and were accommodated with a very comfortable booth on the lower level of the restaurant. Service by staff was excellent throughout our dining experience. We ordered from the Restaurant Week $29 luncheon menu which included an appetizer, entree and dessert. Everything we ordered arrived timely and well prepared. Our filet mignon steaks were cooked to perfection. Overall, we were very satisfied with our dining experience and would definitely return again.
Everything was great, our waitress was amazing, food delicious, drinks strong. The one issue was there was a giant party downstairs and the kitchen got completely tied up so we waited over an hour and a half for our entrees, they comped our first round of drinks for the long wait but I didn't complain or anything, we were watching the playoff game so we didn't even notice too much. I love Morton's and know this isn't a usual thing for their franchise, I will still return.
After having very high expectations for a steak at one of the most famous steakhouses in the world we were let down. I ordered the NY Strip which was excellent, my wife ordered the filet, which was not great. It was much dryer than expected for a filet. When a filet is over $50 I would expect it to melt in your mouth, this was not any better than a $20 Outback special. The service was absolutely amazing. The waiter had a great personality and held a conversation. The side we ordered twice baked au gratin potatoes were great and large enough that the two of us didn't finish it. The decor was great, I almost felt like it was a mix of a 50's club with modern touches.
Having eaten at Morton's in several cities, I have to say that this is one of the two best locations (the other in downtown Chicago) in terms of overall satisfaction with food, ambiance and service. Steak and lobster were perfectly cooked and horseradish mashed potatoes were delicious. Service was attentive without being bothersome. Morton's is pricey but is up there with other finer steakhouse chains like Capital Grille. Nice touch with a follow up call from them the next day asking if we enjoyed our Morton's experience.
Fourth time at Morton's, first downtown. Outstanding in all ways. Delicious appetizers, great steaks cooked EXACTLY as ordered. Wonderful sides, quiet and comfortable. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Did I mention outstanding service? It's here. One of the best for any occasion.
We were disappointed with our meal. We both ordered the combo with bacon wrapped scallop and filet mignon and shrimp and 2 sides. I also had the 5 cheese onion soup which was very tasty. The 2 sides were awesome the scallops were perfect but the meat was average at best and the shrimp while good size had no taste to them. Not sure why a place that hangs their hat on their meat gave us poor examples. The meat was cooked well but I have cooked much better filet on the grille at home with store bought meat so very disappointed sorry to say.
