Morton's The Steakhouse - White Plains Ratings and Reviews
Very unhappy with the whole experience.
Ordered the Tuna appetizer, forgot the Tuna, said there was a new chef.
They never mentioned the special spring to summer menu. We noticed postcards on a table on our way out.
Dinner for two $250. will not return not worth it.
The Center-Cut Filet Mignon was dry and that includes the 6 and 8oz portions. The Chicken Bianco tasked as it had been cooked and re-cooked. The "Twice Baked" Au Gratin Potatoes were the worst tasking potatoes I we have ever had.
We have dined here on before and the food was better, we would not go back for another try.
Overall the service at Morton's was fine. I ordered the filet mignon. It was tender but not very flavorful or well seasoned. Had to add salt. The side dishes were large enough to share and very good quality. Someone ordered the honey-chili salmon, they said it was delicious. Overall very good but the drinks were pricey and small.
One of the best seasoned, best prepared steaks I've ever had. Lobster bisque lacked lobster, it was lobster flavored bisque. Crab cake was excellent. Horseradish mashed potatoes and asparagus were very tasty. Apple pie dessert left MUCH to be desire. Considering the hefty steakhouse prices, I would've hoped for a far more respectable showing in the bisque and a dessert that was actually a piece of pie.
Not at all what I expected. I've visited Mortons all over the country and almost always have a great experience. This visit was very ordinary at best. The wait staff wasn't knowledgeable or coordinated, a steak had to be sent back, and for the overall quality and atmosphere the prices are unwarranted.
Great service, very good food. The steaks are wet-aged, which was new for me, since I am used to dry-aged steaks. I think dry aged has more flavor, but the wet-aged was certainly tender and moist. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was boisterous and lively. Also, very good wine list. Had the '99 St. Emillion which they decanted for us. Very good. Enjoy!
Mortons has always been a favorite. Always a first choice for entertaining family & business clients. The food has become less for more. The food is salty, salad saturated in a commercial dressing, very small portions, and higher prices. Taste like McCormicks, which is also awful! No longer a favorite. Defininately not headed back to any Mortons.
Overall, we had a wonderful night. We enjoyed our experience and were not rushed at any time during our 3 hour meal. The wait staff was very attentive and generally knowledgeable. My only gripe being that i asked the waitress if the fries were genuinely "Matchstick" as per the menu or more "Shoestring" in thickness. She said they were matchstick and i didn't order them, as i prefer a thicker fry with my steak. Later in the night i saw that the fries were of "Shoestring" thickness. A minor point, but i think the staff should know the difference. I was impressed that Zaya 12 year rum was on the after dinner drink menu, it is one of my favorites.
Morton's is perfect for a girl's night out or an intimate dinner date.
Steaks and seafood, beautifully prepared and delicious wine pairings made the evening perfect.
While Morton's is famous for it's steaks, the charming and well trained staff keeps me going back.
We had an outstanding dinning experience. We had great service and great food prepared exactly as requested. The bread is fantastic, but don't eat too much or you will not have room for all the great appetizers, salads, incredible steaks, seafood, chicken, side dishes (my favorite cream spinach), and of course the most decadent desserts you have ever eaten.
This was a birthday celebration for my girlfriend. The restaurant called a few hours before our reservatiion to ask what my girlfriends name was. Upon entering that evening she was greeted with Happy Birthday from the staff and our menus had a birthday greeting across the top of the page.A picture was taken at the table and was framed for her to remember her day. The food was superb and the service was impeccable. Thank you Mortons.
The restaurant was good, but not great. The prices are outrageous, which I expected but there is nothing to justify the prices, no real hook. They do not let you choose your own steak as some of the other pricey steakhouses do. It was mediocre at best. Next time in area will try one of the other steakhouses.
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary here and will do so every now. The food was excellent and the waitress was absolutely a pleasure that we felt lucky to have a waitress like her because her service was superb and made our special occasion so much more enjoyable.
