Morton's The Steakhouse - Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointing. There are so many better steakhouses in the Valley. Mortons has dropped the ball on their food. Oysters were very sad looking. Jumbo shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were so rubbery I could barely chew them. Wedge salad was decent. Filet mignon was cooked correctly but under seasoned. Best thing about this place is decor. Friday night at 7:30 the place was almost empty. For the prices, there are so many better places to eat. Will not go back.
Always a class act, we chose Morton's for a birthday dinner. We frequently enjoy the happy hour bar bites and the more casual bar area but tonight we wanted the full service and they delivered expertly. Everything was great from the quality of the wines on the menu, the crab cake appetizer, the expertly prepared steaks and the lemon scuffle, which was complimentary since we were celebrating a birthday. Morton's is the perfect place for a special evening of pampered steakhouse indulgence.
Don't get me wrong. The food and wine were good, just overpriced. $250 + tip for 3 glasses of wine, a prime steak, fish dish, seafood pasta, two sides and two salads and one starter. There are many other options in the Scottsdale/NE Phoenix area for great food at half the price.
In town on a business trip. They were extremely accommodating as we needed a table over an hour before our reservation time. The manager found us a table for four on a Saturday night without issue. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Very good experience for my customers. I thank you!
Although the food was good, we had seats in the back of the restaurant, next to the kitchen door. During our entire meal, servers/staff walked back and forth with loud carts. The noise from the wheels kept interrupting our conversation and ruined the atmosphere. This went on so long, we eventually asked the person to stop. The reply was, "I'm just doing my job!".
Will not be back.
We had a wonderful experience. I had the 20 Oz new York strip that was cooked to perfection. My wife had the filet combo that incl shrimp and scallops which we able to use as our appetizers. The waiter,Eric was very good and the manager solved a landry's problem we had. Overall it was the best dinning experience we'very had.
To many things were forgotten on our meals. The salad did not come out with other appetizers. We had to ask for it. Two of us got the grilled chicken and one plate came out looking like two chicken fingers and the other plate came out with 3 larger pieces of chicken. We had to ask for the baked potato that was ordered.
When I registered for the reservation, I put on that we were celebrating Bill Phillips birthday. The server never mentioned it. We were at Capital Grille for my birthday the week before and they made us feel special. They had a card on the table wishing me a happy birthday and confetti on the table. They even brought us a desert to share with a candle for the birthday. Morton's did nothing for my guest.
The food was excellent with one exception, my steak sandwich was barely warm by the time I received it.
Found the service to be quite slow.
This was my 3rd visit with 2 disappointments, I will try one more time and hopefully be happy with everything. I'm not a complainer when it comes to the service industry, having worked in the industry for years but, there is never a "good" reason for cold food and slow service.
My husband and I went for an 'after valentines day' celebration date night.
We had never been before and we're very disappointed. Right from the start.
First impression ....there were hardly any other diners at the restaurant, which for me is a tell tale bad sign, especially on a Thursday night in Scottsdale in high season. We were politely greeted and had the choice of seating since there were maybe only three other table occupied.
Our waitress was nice, but way too 'scripted'. Not natural at all. (I had seen that on another review as well, you'd think the restaurant would take note)
My fish was totally undercooked, and nearly jelly like in the middle. The wait staff was accommodating to cook it until it was done. The food was mediocre at best and not nearly warranted of the extremely high price tag associated with it.
There are too many excellent restaurants in Scottsdale, so we will never do a repeat to Mortons.
Morton's is a special place for my wife and I personally. This date was for dessert only but it brought back fond memories. I was very pleased with our server Gretchen and made a reservation for our anniversary, requesting her specifically, before we left. Terrific food and service, highly recommended.
We were celebrating our 30th Anniversary and Morton's was spectacular! An added bonus was our server, Gretchen! We could not have been more blessed and been treated any better. And, the managerial staff checked in on us twice which was great. Thank you very much for your tremendous hospitality, especially Gretchen!
The use of a folding table for our party of four, when there were many open regular tables available was very disappointing, I dine at Morton's for business and this was the first time that my customer said something about the décor/table. I was often brushed up on by diners going to much better tables (not a folding one).
Our server was amazing, she made our night, not pushing us through the meal to turn the table.
I had dined with another customer at Ruth's Chris the night before and didn't have to use a folding table. And they were even busier by comparison.
I know it was Valentines night, but we were there on business and I assure you our bill was much higher than the two people sitting at the nicer tables!
We arrived on time and our requested booth was ready. They were very busy and I was impressed that we didn't have to wait. Also, they gave me a choice of booth location. Our server (Shelly) was very nice. Helpful, prompt and nice to have a s same. The food was very good at market prices. Portions were good and nicely presented. Desert was the chocolate lava cake and served piping hot with vanilla bean ice cream -DELICIOUS! The only thing we weren't used to was the noise level, very loud. Other than that, we had a lovely dinner.
