Morton's The Steakhouse - Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
I have been going to Mortons for years, all special occasions and been pleased with the food, but this time it was a big disappointment The filet was just OK, the stuffed shrimp so small and barely any stuffing, also kind of burnt. The staff is outstanding and the restaurant is really nice but I am going to take a break from going for a while. I do hate to write this as it has always been my favorite place to go.
Having been to this and several other Morton's nationwide, our experience was less than expected. Our server seemed to rush through the process, did not ask us for a wine or beverage, we had to ask her after several stops at our table. We love Morton's, this visit was not up to their standards.
They were very accommodating to our needs. We had our anniversary we were celebrating for. They made us feel welcomed from the start. Menus had our names on top and a picture of us to remember the special occasion. I would definitely recommend Morton's Steakhouse.
Poorest steakhouse experience I have had in years.
We hosted the CEO of Morton's once and grew to believe in Morton's commitment to quality & service-obviously this has changed since Landry's has bought the chain or Scottsdale just has fallen through the cracks.
I entertain at steakhouses at least 2/month & have never complained before but Scottsdale Morton’s could not get it right.
Both steaks at the table came well over cooked. There's no way they checked to see if they were done right. Replacements finally came but the sides were simply left under heaters for 10 minutes. When the steaks came back they were undercooked, not done Chicago or sliced English as requested. Other tables had similar challenges.
Feel ripped off for $
The food and service at Morton's was excellent and I will recommend this place to everyone looking for an upscale restaurant for a company gathering or a special occasion. Our waitress was fast and courteous and everything was cooked to perfection. Our annual company party was a success with everyone agreeing we may have to come back here next year for our annual company party.
My wife and I went to Morton's to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We were treated like special guests the minute we walked in the front door. The service was the best that we have had at any restaurant and the food was excellent. We highly recommend Morton's for the service and food. You can't go wrong.
Despite having a new waitress, (a relatively young college aged girl) the evening was very good. My only slight criticism is about the desert. It was complimentary because my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, but the chocolate souffle was regrettable as was the manner in which the waitress attempted to remove it from the dish it was cooked in.
Worst steakhouse experience ever! Reservation was at 8, meal finally served 1hr and 50 min later. half the salads brought out and other half came out 30 min later. There was a period of 40 min where no one even checked on us. We had to go to bar to get drinks. I was also frustrated because I called to add one more to reservation and they said they couldn't accommodate my request. There would have been plenty of room to add one more to our table. unfortunately that extra person spent New Years dinner alone when they easily could have joined us! So upset and embarrassed because I was the one who encouraged out group to agree on Morton's for our New Years dinner! I will never go there again.
We were very pleased. Menu had lots of choices that looked great. Ahi tuna tower appetizer was wonderful. So was the chocolate soufle. It was illuminated enough that we could see, and quiet enough that we could converse on New Years Eve. Excellent wait staff. Old school quality without pretension.
Appetizer was delicious. The steak I ordered was the Five peppercorn New York Strip. The steak had a great deal of gristle, not expected on a New York Strip. The sauce accompanying the steak was not fantastic. I expected something closer to an au-poire. The vegetables were very good. Even though this experience was not as good as past dinners there, the appetizer and impecable service are worth going back.
We were very happy with Morton's and since this was our first visit, very surprised when we were wished "Happy Anniversary", had our personalized menu, photo taken and complimentary dessert!
The wait staff was diligent in serving us.
It was a 5 star experience for us!
My worst experience at a Morton's. My two Son's love the shrimp entree and we had decided to make this a Christmas Eve tradition. This experience changed that. I'm not sure if it's the merger or just a manager change but we were very surprised and disappointed by how bad it was. We were seated 45 minutes late for our 7:30 reservation which I had to guarantee with a credit card. It too most of the 45 minute wait to get drinks from the bar. The regular bartender (who is very good) was completely overwhelmed and it looked like his bar back was from a temp agency or a new hire because he was lost. When we were seated we were told they "ran out" of their signature bread and served us four very small dinner rolls.
Probably the worst steak we have ever eaten. We have eaten at some of the best steak houses like Peter Lugers. Steak was so burnt, beyond charred that it was inedible for one of our guests. The flavor was bitter due to the burning. The mac and cheese was crunchy and burnt on the bottom, the cream spinach room temperature. The molten cake was dry and the ice cream had freezer burn and ice crystals on it. We will never go to Morton's again, sad because in NYC the experience is completely different.
I have been to Morton's in La many times and it has been great the Scottsdale resteraunt booked and the wait staff seemed to be completely overwhelmed to the point we were only able to order a single drink and they were pretty much non existent except for bringing our food the entire visit. Three of our five steaks were over cooked well instead of medium, which the manager did reorder and brought us new ones over an hour after our original order, but the overall experience was not of an upscale restaraunt and I would choose City Hall, Monty's or Durant's over this every time.
Great food but hold on to your wallet - this is one of the most expen$ive places in town - fit for very special occasions only. The service is indeed impeccable. However, the noise level was definitely high, and we were all amazed at the number of small children in the restaurant. I guess it is a testimony to the employment market of Scottsdale that there are so many parents in this town who can afford to take their young children to a place like Morton's.
We visited for my wife's birthday on Christmas eve, getting there before the rush. Our waiter seemed distracted and condescending--and sporadic in his attention. They didn't do the presentation before dinner; spilled water (moved us promptly, but didn't bother to pull the table out for my wife). And while most of our food was good, my steak was way overdone and dry/chewy. I would have sent it back but that would have held our party almost an hour at the rate they were going. The usually wonderous bread was warmed over and not "wow" fresh as it should be. If this was my first visit, it would have been the last, as the quality of food and service was nowhere near what it should be for a first rate steak house.
Everything was just right. The atmosphere, was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our party had the center-cut filet mignon and the porterhouse steaks, both were excellents. Sides are a la carte, so they can be a little pricey, but they are so delicious it is worth it.
I hate to write this review. We love Morton's but our last meal at this Morton's was pretty dissapointing. We have eaten at several Morton's in CA and this particular one in Scottsdale many times. The Service was great at usual but the food was off. My steak and sides were just ok and the sides came to the table just barely warm. My wife's mashed potatoes were just downright bad. Lumpy and bland. They tried to fix them but they were still bad. The manager did take care of it and removed them from the bill but we expect nothing but the best from Morton's especially for the price. Hopefully it was just an off night.
