Morton's The Steakhouse - Schaumburg Ratings and Reviews
It was Valentines Day. The dining experience was quite good after an initial disappointment. We were seated immediately and water and some delicious fresh warm bread was delivered. Then we waited more than 15 minutes or so watching others get served with no one coming to our table. I was so disgusted I didn’t smile for the photographer who was taking pictures at all the tables. I got up and went to the Maitre D and told him of our disappointment. We were immediately served and from then on everything was great. Our waitress did a very good job being attentive, friendly and accommodating. The meal was delightful. We ordered surf and turf (NY Strip and Lobster Tail) and Alaskan King Crab Legs with sautéed spinach & mushrooms and baked potato as sides. The food was very good except the lobster was just a tad bit over cooked. The MD offered to pay for our cocktails (we don’t drink alcohol) and then gave us our choice of desert on the house. We chose the crime brûlée and it was fantastic. The photo that was taken was gratis and I really didn’t want it but we graciously accepted it anyhow. Despite the bad start, I would still recommend this Morton’s for special occasions. Be prepared for the big check!
Was not impressed.
We were there for restaurant week and the food was average. I have never been to a Morton's and was looking forward to it. The food was cold, the steaks were not cook as requested and lacked flavor. The sides were ok.
I ordered a sparkling Moscato which was flat; it was clearly a bottle that had been opened for a while. The waiter didn't offer to have the bartender open a fresh bottle but offered me a Proseco. Although, that was very nice there is a big difference in taste between the two.
It was an expensive dinner with restaurant week. I could not imagine paying full price . Ruth Chris is much better.
We had a very nice evening at Morton’s. We came in for Restaurant Week and everything was wonderful. The food was delicious and our server, Anna, was excellent - super friendly and took great care of us. The only thing I would mention is that I noted it was our anniversary. I wasn’t expecting anything since you already get it all with the Restaurant Week deal but I noticed other tables who were celebrating had their picture taken and printed for them which would have been nice. Overall though, we really enjoyed ourselves and will return in the future.
Another exciting/great meal. Presently the special is steak and Lobster. The price was GREAT. The quality was out standing. The Lobster was fresh and perfectly cooked. The filet was cooked perfectly. I could not stop eating the wonderful beef.
The friendliness was out standing. My favorite restaurant!!!!
Great food and service ..... We went several years ago and did not return due to the very high prices ... We went for the Morton anniversary special, which you had to ask for to take advantage of ..... The special was great and the food was excellent .... The prices for the regular menu are astronomical with all sides extra .... If you want a refill on that soda, that's extra too .... Ultra high end ... My wife and I are well off and this place, although excellent, is a bit over the top ....
Have always enjoyed This Morton’s - hadn’t been there in awhile - the atmosphere is fine - the food quality has slipped tremendously. We left feeling like we over paid for the quality. We recently dined at Capital Grille and Gibson’s and will go there many times before giving Morton’s another go. Bums me out as Morton’s is closer.
Very pleasant meal. The shrimp cocktail and broiled scallops were great. The salad was big enough for 3 to share. We had the 24 oz porterhouse between the 3 of us. The chef cut it expertly to share. Like the char on it while a nice medium. We enjoyed the brussel sprouts. With the way we ordered we had room for the mousse and the fruit in cream sauce. Overall it was a great time.
Was kind of surprised at the minimal appetizer for what we paid. Was probably charged $50.00 more than it was worth. 1 half crab leg, cut in half for two people, 2 oysters, 2 shrimp, a very small amount of lump crab, and what looked like what was leftover from a lobster tail dinner (not even two bites) all for $58.00 ($29.00 per person). Plus the filet (which was cooked properly), was at best adequate as far as taste. I had much better for much less cost at a bar in Ft. Worth, TX. All in all, I doubt if I will be back here for dinner. Whole dinner was $284. 00 for two people, and there was nothing special about it. Ambient noise was too high for a high end restaurant.
The food was very disappointing starting with the Morton's Salad. My husband and I both had the filet mignon, his was good but mine was a little tough. We had the mushrooms with spinach and that was good but nothing to brag about. We also had the twice baked potatoes and the potatoes were undercooked. Not at all the meal you expect when dining at Morton's. We won't be returning. There are too many other excellent restaurants in the area for a portion of the price.
On a busy and snowy night the restaurant was busy and up to the challenge. There were numerous larger groups and plenty of people celebrating Xmas the holidays. The appetizers and Entree's came out quick, and as ordered. The service and staff were also friendly and great as usual. Cheers and a great job to all Morton's staff!
Went for our Christmas Dinner. It was the first visit for 3 in our party. They were impressed like my wife and I always are. The Porterhouse, Filet, & Salmon were outstanding along with the Horsradish mashed Potatos and Brussel Sprouts. Chocolate Soufflé and Sundae were awesome too. Morton's never disappoints!
It was Christmas Eve and we arrived 35 minutes early. They did not miss a beat. They greeted us and seated us. I learned they do plan for this mishap.
The service was rushed. Brian allow us to take all the time we needed and was still very attentive to our needs. He was always watching the wine glasses. This was wonderful.
The food was excellent even with the crowd in the restaurant. Everything was done with perfection. Also the seafood appetizer was out outstanding and a wonderful choice of fresh fish.
I could not have had a better evening. It was very special!
We had a party of four old friends getting together for a preholiday dinner together. We are arrived a bit early and sat at the bar waiting our table. Cocktails were prepared to taste and the bar atmosphere was at a holiday pitch. Three of the four of us ordered steaks, one strip and two ribeyes which were perfectectly cooked. One had salmon on a bed of vegetables which was also very tasty. Service was spectacular. The restaurant manager checked in at our table a few times to see how we were enjoying our meals. We ended a perfect dinner by having an after dinner drink of a glass of port wine. Though Morton’s is pricey, it is worth It to enjoy a really nice dining experience.
We were so looking forward to a wonderful dinner at Morton’s in Schaumburg. It had been quite a long time since our last meal there. Our experience this time was EXTREMELY disappointing. We arrived on time for our 6:15 p.m. reservation and were asked to wait at the bar. 20 minutes later we saw a couple arrive and were greeted by the manager and seated immediately. I approached the hostess and asked how much longer we would have to wait. She said she would ask the manager. She told us MAYBE 10 more minutes. We asked why the other couple was seated before us and she said they had 6 p.m. reservations. They were 30 minutes late and got seated immediately! Excuse me, but we were on time and we were still waiting. No apologies what so ever. We left without dining and will not be going back. Poor management skills are UNACCEPTABLE in a service oriented business.
