This Morton's is managed so well with the best possible service that I had to write feedback to Landry's Corporate office, and frankly feel it should be the example for all restaurants.. On this occasion I had taken my husband here as a redo birthday dinner, which they ensured was perfect. Upon taking my husband to what I thought was a seafood restaurant for crab legs for his birthday we found that the food was lacking (more like not edible), wine list was abysmal and the restaurant was lackluster in general. We looked at each other as we sat and said this would have never happened at Morton's. As I was walking out of the restaurant I promptly called over to Morton's to make my reservation. We walked in and from the greeting straight through to dessert everything was perfect. BTW, the crab legs at Morton's were cooked to perfection and did not look remotely close to what the "seafood restaurant" was attempting to sell. How silly was I to even attempt to think another restaurant would provide the experience we have every time at Morton's. The management (Tony) is present and the service is impeccable (Oscar). This is our go to place. I can assure you-every special occasion will be spent here! I would like to add that I work with clients and eat in a lot of restaurants and none meet the standards that the management at this location have clearly set and never have I experienced service more professional and attentive, with an energetic personality as I have from Oscar. Above and beyond every time.

Morton's Steakhouse - Santa Ana
We celebrated a belated New year's Eve with friends and the 4 of us had a wonderful time. As always, the filet mignon was perfect, our friend that had the pork chop loved it as well. The ahi tuna tower and he scallops appetizer were delicious. Our server was terrific, always there when we needed her, but never in the way, and she let us enjoy our conversation, timing the food service perfectly.

Chris was our waiter and he did a great job. We also got some excellent wine advice from Anthony the Sommelier. Great dinner and date, so of course, we will come back to Mortons again.

I expect quality service and food from Mortons and their prices. Waiter was average and they served lobster bisque vs. tomato bisque to 2 of my vegetarian guests. They were disorganized and obviously not attentive to our orders.

Enjoyable meal but wish the seating would have been spaced out more. We were sat at a table in the middle of tables that were full but 1/2 the restaurant was empty? Food was fantastic, ambiance was great as well. Would definitely go back.

Went there to celebrate a birthday, but four of us ordered the ribeye, two of them were over-cooked. That was very disappointing. If you are going to charge this much for a steak, it should be perfect.

Our server disappeared for long periods of time and had to be asked to open the wine we brought and go through the specials for the evening. Seemed either inexperienced or poor. Hopefully, just inexperienced. For the quality of food, I’ll try to give her benefit of doubt. At a high level steakhouse, I expect more and better.

Overall my first time at Morton’s was great. The food was amazing , that service was great and I enjoyed my overall experience. The only small drawback which I wasn’t aware of was that they have a cigar bar so the smoke was constantly traveling around the restaurant . It just wasn’t a pleasant smell to have to eat dinner with.

Came for late night New Year's Eve dinner celebration with family. Filet mignon cooked to perfection including my wife's request for "well done, no pink." Our daughter ordered crab legs that were meaty and sweet. Our server was attentive and accommodating. We asked if we could have garlic mashed potatoes even though not on the menu. "Of course" was the answer and they were delicious. As the evening approached midnight, they provided us with hats and noise makers. The entire restaurant did the traditional countdown. It struck midnight and we all celebrated. A wonderful evening for us! We will be back again for sure.

It was a first time at Morton's for our kids, all foodies, 11, 14, 17 & 24 , oldest home from the Army after second his first tour in IRAQ so sort a special dinner. We missed the waiter's presentation of the menu, maybe due to it being New Years Eve, not sure. If I had known I would have booked for another, that's a great part of the Morton's experience. Three of them had Steak/Lobster combo, one just lobster. Steaks were delicious as expected, although our 11yo pointed out the lobster was not really that good, said that the lobster I make at home is much better??? Really? I get mine from Costco and have no where near the experience of preparing as does Morton's. I had a taste and have to admit he was right. All in all, the experience was maybe a 6 out of 10, server never really checked on us much but we still tip well as we always do. Bummer the lobster was not as good as I made the food out to sound to our kids leading up to that evening. We welcome a "do over".. :]

Sincerely,

Ed

I went to Morton's for dinner on Christmas Day with a friend. Because of the occasion, the restaurant was packed and, even though we had reservations, we had to wait 30 minutes without a place to sit, even at the bar. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was good. But I would not go back, nor would I recommend it to friends, because the noise is almost intolerable. I have suggested to them, on their website, that they make some changes on the ceiling and walls to greatly improve their acoustics. It is horrendous and takes away from a good dining experience.

Our family of 6 had 6:30 reservations on Christmas Day. We were seated at 7:15 in what looked and felt like a make shift dining room behind the main dining room. Seriously, our table was a folding table. The room was freezing. We were not given menus when we were seated, and it was a good 15 minutes before our waiter greeted us. He was clearly stressed and talked a mile a minute. Fortunately, our salads and dinner were very good. The overall experience felt like an upscale Sizzler.

My family loves Morton's since its always an experience of relaxed dining with excellent steaks. It was Christmas, so I suppose a busier night than most, but we had to wait 30 minutes for our table despite having a reservation because they were behind. Our steaks were all one temperature more than we ordered, but by the time we got to our main courses, the restaurant really calmed down to a normal crowd. Our waiter was not very attentive, either. We enjoyed everything, but this definitely didn't live up to my expectations. It was my first time at this location; I'll probably try the other SoCal location next time.

First of all, I will give Morton's the benefit of the doubt because we were there for Christmas and they were jammed with consumers like us. We enjoyed the attention of our server, Celeste, who attended to our needs and answered our questions. It was the first time for both my fiancé and myself. The Moscato we had was delicious and sweet. But the good review ends with the wine. The servers helping Celeste didn't do their jobs. One of the them didn't bother asking which steak belonged to whom. I was served my fiancé's steak which she wanted medium plus and she ended up with my steak which I ordered medium rare. Our baked potato was overcooked. Fortunately, Celeste was kind enough to remove it from our bill. In a sentence: The service was amazing, the food was meh. I'm hoping things will be different the second time around, or we'll never return and worse of all, we'll tell all our friends not to go to Morton's the Steakhouse-Santa Ana.

Great for a celebration! We took our 80 and 92 year old fathers' to Mortons on Christmas day and the place was packed at 4:45 pm. Orders included New York Strip Steak, 6 oz. Petite Filet, Salmon and Ribeye, Creamed Corn and Spinach-all delicious and well prepared. Chopped salad was drowning in dressing, and the avocado overpowered everything else. Having said that, we had a wonderful booth that allowed everyone in our party to have a wonderful time.

I would not recommend this Morton's for a Christmas Day dinner. Everything took too long. It was a good 25 minutes from salads to the main course. The food was all very good, except my steak. Morton's is a steak house, specializing in Prime steak. My steak had more fat than meat, and I'm not talking about marbling. Certainly not like any Prime steak I've ever eaten before.

We made a reservation for Christmas Eve and were excited about our upcoming dinner. We arrived to an overly packed restaurant and were told they were running behind and we'd have to wait at least thirty minutes for our table. It was so crowded we could barely move. We finally were seated after expressing concern that that one of our guests was nine months pregnant and needed to be seated. The waiter did his best to keep us happy but the food took well over an hour to come out. We ate probably six loaves of bread while waiting. Finally the food arrived and our $128 steak wasn't even hot. We were too hungry to send it back. Everyone was pretty disappointed in how the evening turned out. They need to plan better for major holidays like this. We will go back on a non holiday to see how it is.

Family Christmas Eve dinner. I made reservations a month in advance, confirmed the day before the event. We had reservations for 7:15, arrived at 7:00 and were told they were running behind, about an hour. There was no where to wait inside, standing room only in the bar and the lobby. Mortons overbooked the evening, on purpose. There were 50 to 75 people waiting for a table, most with a reservation. After an hour wait i checked in with the Hostess and was told it would be at least an additional 40 minutes. We are standing in the parking lot waiting for our table, absolutely ridiculous. As we were getting ready to leave they called our name, got seated at 9:00 pm. Food was good. I won't be going back to this Mortons.

After our most recent dining experience at Morton’s on December 24, 2017, my husband and I will never be returning. We would dine at Morton’s with some frequency—though we prefer Mastro’s—since the perks of the Landry’s Select Club and proximity to South Coast Plaza made it a nice choice. We had a credit that was about to expire, so we decided to make a reservation on Christmas Eve. We did anticipate the restaurant to be quite busy, but we did not expect the utter chaos and terrible experience that ensued.
We arrived at the restaurant at 6:20pm, and our reservation was for 6:30pm. We were able to find parking easily, but as we entered the restaurant there was a massive crowd of people huddled around the walkway leading to the hostess desk. I checked in and was informed that the restaurant was running about 30 minutes behind schedule. Not great, but we went with the flow and headed for the bar to get some drinks while we waited.
The bar was also extremely crowded since everyone else who was waiting had the same idea as us. A very helpful server in the bar area managed to find us a table by the time we were on our second round of martinis. At this point it was 7:00pm, and my husband went to check on the status of our table. The hostess informed him that their “computer system was down”—I still don’t know if this is true. Regardless, we continued to wait in the bar area, ordering some bread but not wanting to spoil our appetites for our meal. Once 7:30pm rolled around I went to inquire on the status of our table, and the hostess asked me if we had checked in upon arriving. I gave her our name and said yes, we checked in over an hour ago. She told me not to go far and that we would be seated promptly. It felt as if our entire reservation had been overlooked, and had I not gone to inquire no one would have come to get us for the entire evening.
The restaurant was so overbooked that they opened up the private

Very disappointed with our experience at Morton's. We had dinner reservations at 6:30 PM. When we arrived at 6:05 pm, we were told they were running 20 minutes behind, not a big deal, we went to the bar for a cocktail, no service in the bar. At 7:00 PM still no table, we inquired, told us it would be 20 minutes, waited longer, at 7:45 a hostess arrived to escort another party, who had 6:45 reservations, to their table, they politely told the hostess we had been waiting longer. We were finally seated at 7:45. Our server, Rebecca, was wonderful. We ordered cocktails, then ordered our dinner at 8:15. At 9:20, still no food, we decided to leave. I am well aware Christmas Eve is a very busy day for the restaurant, however, the staff was unprepared for the evening. Had we wanted to have dinner at 10:00 pm, I would have made a 9:15-9:30 reservation. We left without having a meal. Very, very disappointing. When I approached the manager, he offered, cold appetizers for us, we politely declined and asked for our bill for the cocktails, and a bowl of soup, which was consumed, he told us no charge. Our intent was to have a nice Christmas Eve dinner, which unfortunately did not happen. While I was talking to the GM, the server said our ticket kept being moved back for some reason, at this point, the reason doesn't matter. Not only did we leave very hungry, our server, lost what would have probably been at least a $100+ gratuity. Shame on the company. The manager did invite us back to be his guest, not sure that will happen.

We made a reservation at 6:30 for Christmas eve. When we checked in we were told they were running 30 minutes behind. I had my 96-year-old mother and father with me and my children. It was packed in the lobby with no where to sit. That’s a long time for a 96-year-old woman to stand. We came across a kind gentleman willing to give up his seat while we waited well over an hour to be seated at the table! At that point we should have left but instead since we were all starving we stayed which was a big mistake. We were sat at a table in a room that look like a banquet room. The evening went downhill from there. The service was very slow and we ended up getting our meal around 9:30. We spoke with the manager several times during the evening to check on our food. He didn’t seem very apologetic and told us several times that they were plating our meal and that we needed to be patient. I think three hours at a restaurant waiting for our meal was being very patient. The table next to us with a similar situation ended up leaving before they got their meal. After we finished eating it took almost an hour to get our bill. They never apologize and didn’t even give us any type of discount for what we went through. We paid for dessert but left before it arrived even know we paid for it. They totally ruined our Christmas eve dinner and many others as well. We finally got out of there around 10:30. Totally inexcusable!!
