Morton's The Steakhouse - San Jose

I expected the food to be FABULOUS! It was just good. For the prices they charge, I expect a lot more. I am glad to have experienced it, but I would not return. Way overpriced for the quality of food.
Morton’s always satisfies with the food quality. The overall value for money and decor could be better.
Location is so so (in the middle of office building) but food and services are great!
The lobster and steak was not very good. The lobster was overdone and had garlic on it.
Amazing service and dining experience always!
Steak very good, staffs were accommodating and gracious
People are exceptional.
I’m guessing the average patron at Morton’s is a business person with an expense account. Portions are small (very small) and everything is expensive (very expensive). For dinner before a play, I’d never do it again. The food was good enough and my Paloma Picasso cocktail was amazing, but the size of the check relative to the amount of food and quality of service, I can’t recommend it.
Wonderful dining and very attentive wait staff. It is too bad that some diners are allowed into upscale evenungbdining establishments wewrinh baseball csps, t-shirts and sometimes shorts . With white table cloths and soft ambience perfeft for dressing up for special occasions. This lack of class dampens the luster on very fine dining establishments. Will, however, return to Morton's.
Initial server Jessica, was outstanding and was able to accommodate a request to move to a quieter location. Wine steward (woman from Tennessee) was friendly and competent. Water was frequently refilled, and empty plates/glasses were removed without being intrusive. Waiter was good, minor nit, would have preferred a bit more wine knowledge or refer to a sommelier for assistance. Food was very good, soufflé was excellent. Overall very good experience.
The food was ok. Everything had onions on it.
We expected a way better tasting filet.
The scalloped potatoes seemed like they were boiled and had cheese melted on top.
The waiter forgot our mineral water until we reminded him and my husband had no side plate until we asked.
I was hoping for a way better meal and experience on our anniversary.
Great dinner and even better service.
I HEARD THAT THIS LOCATION WAS CLOSING! PLEASE FID ANOTHER SPACE IN SAN JOSE
Excellent dinner tonight! Food was delicious and perfectly prepared. They had a special three course meal. Filet Mignon and lobster with a starter, side, and dessert. Great value and ample portions. Excellent wine selection by the glass. Service was superior.
Morton's is our favorite restaurant. It never disappoints.
Fantastic service and great food - what more could a person want!
The food was excellent as always. When we received the Ahi Tuna Tower, we did not know it was spicy (the menu did not disclose this). The staff was very understanding they deducted the cost of the Tower and offered to make an other one without spice. (we declined as the salads were already at the table)
The Manager even came over later to apologize for the issue with the Tower and let us know that he had already informed the corporate office of this fact.
Monday holiday reservations for three, service was excellent, ambiance was wonderful with a dimly lit open dining room which provided surprising intimacy, steaks were first class, sides were deliciously prepared. My only concern was the au poivre sauce was over peppered. I have sampled enough to state this however it did not detract from a fabulous dining experience. We will be back again and again.
Great dinner tonight! The restaurant had a special menu for the holiday weekend. Great value! The food and service were very good.
The service was outstanding and the food was great, as usual!
Love the side dish options here!
Great service and amazing food.
The food was great - cooked exactly as ordered and delicious. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow. We had a huge lag time between our appetizer and dinner and saw others who arrived after us get served and almost finish before we received our meals. Service was so slow we didn’t have time for dessert before our show. We allowed almost 2 hours for dinner, and it was disappointing that we didn’t have a better experience.
Outstanding staff and tremendous leadership by Mgr
Excellent well paced service, great food, great atmosphere
We go every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary! One of our favorite places! Definitely will go back again!
Appetizers we good, we order two filets and they came back over cooked twice. The second time we did not asked for them to be taken back, because we had already been waiting a long time. Being that is a high quality steakhouse we were really disappointed, especially after spending over $250.
It sucked food was terrible had the miso sea bass no taste to fish all you tasted wiso broth an the fish was a very small cut 6_7bites that was it never again not worth time
Great steak and seafood and excellent service.
Great dinner with my wife, prior to attending the opening of Wicked. Restaurant is super close to the San Jose Center for Performing Arts. Steak was delicious (had the "oscar" add on with crab, asparagus and mushrooms)! The dessert, chocolate souffle, was the fluffiest and most amazing we've had in years! Highly recommend for a date night--especially prior to the theater!
Whenever I am in San Jose and Im making a last minute reservation, Morton's seems to have availability. The ambiance is really nice but on this recent visit the food came out over an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered. Our server had no personality. My lobster tail was the smallest I've seen. You could have tricked me it was a jumbo prawn. For the price I wish I had gone somewhere else. :/
Very good birthday dinner celebration for my wife tonight. She enjoyed the twin lobster tail special. I had a perfectly prepared filet Mignon. The Lyonnaise potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Finished with the grand Marnier soufflé. Excellent selection of wines by the glass. Good service.
The meals seemed very small especially the Lobster at $50 a tail.
We sat for 10 minutes before the waiter took our order. We told him we had a time constraint due to a show. He said that was fine. The steak was not cooked properly (ordered rare and delivered medium rare) and the waiter never asked if it was cooked properly. The dish was supposed to be steak, shrimp and scallops but had no scallops. Instead they put on two fried shrimp. They had the whole bottom of the plate covered in hollandaise sauce so the fried shrimp were soggy. They finally brought the scallops which smelled fishy. They had offered a complimentary soufflé which we agreed to if there was time, which there wasn’t. When they brought the check the manager said they took off a side because of the scallops mix up even though I got 4 shrimp. Why would she say that? Then she also said she didn’t charge for the soufflé. It was supposed to be complimentary anyway! We left 10 minutes later than we wanted and will never be back to that property.
Service was outstanding. Lobster dinner was broiled perfect and baked potato extra large excellent. Good for special occasions
Filet was great. side dishes were great. Great place for Anniversary dinner
It’s our go to place for special dinners.
Everything was perfect, from the bacon-wrapped scallops to the dual lobster tails to the molten lava chocolate cake dessert. Would have that same dinner every night if I could.
We were greeted with smiles and treated very nicely the server wasn’t very personable but the trainee did a exceptional job much more personable meaning she spoke to both of us not just focusing on one of us overall the dining experience was great
Excellent above and beyond
Service was a little slow but we were celebrating anniversary and we were not in a rush so it was preferred. We were seated next to cooking area which became increasingly noisy as evening progressed I would not recommend that. You have to ask if they have any specials I knew they did because I received their email. The 3 course special does make it more affordable. Definitely a special occasion restaurant, we have been several times for our anniversary they give you a framed (cardboard) picture and complimentary dessert. The manager comes by and checks on everything I always appreciate that and I have always received the seating I request. They also have valet parking at a flat rate.
