Started off bad, the ambient music was blasting and we couldn't even hear the waitress explain the menu, so asked to have it turned down. There were 3 of us total, me and 2 customers. We ordered a lot of food and a bottle of Stags Leap Artemis. The wine was bad and as uncomfortable as it was, I returned it and ordered a bottle of Caymus just to be on the safe side. It was good. But took forever to get our salads and they have my salad completely wrong - they gave me the wrong salad with the dressing on it, but I felt bad about the wine, so I didn't say anything. Then the Filet's came out and all were overcooked, I ordered my medium with the idea that medium rare always comes back rare, so medium should come back medium rare - wrong. It was well done. Service was terrible, very slow and when we asked her to come back in 2 minutes, it turned into 20 minutes. Steaks were completely ruined. Had dessert that took forever also. It was a Tuesday night, sat at 5:55 PM and didn't leave until 10:05!! And the bill with tip was over $750! Terrible food, terrible service, and too long. Will not go back unless Morton's does something for me, there are many other places you can go that are good with good service at more reasonable prices.
Great service & food!
I enjoyed Morton a lot and it’s Has the best steak in ththe South Bay .
Their filet mignon is always good. I ordered the seasonal wagyu beef filet mignon this time and it’s amazing . The butter matches with the steak so much.
Only complaint is it’s kind of too dark in the restaurant
I prefer Ruthchris. I was expecting more from Morton. Will not be going back.
Quality of steaks have dramatically dropped. It’s not a premier steak house any longer. Outback quality steaks at premium prices. The one is San Jose does make good martinis. Would recommend avoiding if you are a steak lover
The meal was excellent as always. I think we had issues for 2 reasons; It was Easter and perhaps you needed more wait staff. The waiter we had seemed overwhelmed at times which lessened his ability to provide adequate service. He asked if we wanted the red wine decanted and we said "yes!" It never happened. Delivery of items ordered seemed slow. After dinner the waiter presented dessert menus which seemed odd since we had already ordered souffle's. When I mentioned the souffle's he said "oh yea" and it was some time before dessert was served. I think he forgot, hence the long wait. Once dessert was served, we had to wait for his return to request silverware since all the prior utensils had been removed. Just an odd set of circumstances that we regularly do not find at any Morton's location.
Otherwise a pleasant evening.
I love this place and the food and service are usually topnotch. Yesterday though was a little different.
We went to Morton's to celebrate my daughter's 24th birthday.
Our drink order was placed and took a full three trips to fill. And we're just talking two sodas, tea and coffee.
After an awkward 45 minutes, I got up an went to the front desk to ask where our shrimp appetizer and bread was - we are hungry!
He said we'll fix it. Within another 5-7 minutes we had our shrimp and bread, (bread was cold, and no dry ice smoke coming off the shrimp.)
Our waiter Saun would check in with us by asking how we are doing as he's walking past - never fully stopping and addressing the table.
Maybe another 30+ minutes our food came. It was excellent. I mean, I had better get a great steak and lobster at Morton's.
Overall, I felt the kitchen and waitstaff walked in with customers... nothing was ready to go. I mean seriously, 45 minutes for warm bread and shrimp appetizers?
For four of us and a child, the bill was $375. The food was great, but the service ruined the experience.
And I'm not even sure I got my Landry's club credit. I was told $25 was taken off for the birthday, but what of my Landry's club credits/discounts?
I'll still go for dinner, but that's the last special lunch I will attend.
We visit Morton’s frequently, and usually have outstanding service and steaks. This time though the service was exceptionally slow and our steaks were just ok. Not sure what was going on that made our dinner sub par, but we won’t be rushing back soon. Bummer because we are Landry card holders and use Morton’s as our go-to whenever we want to eat out. We’ll be back, just not soon. Hopefully they can work out what’s going on.
The Lobster mac and cheese is amazing. Real big chunks of lobster and a great cream sauce.
Service was slow and it took almost an hour to get our appetizers out & when they finally came out our salads were served at the same time.
This place salvaged a star by the food being pretty good--about average for this price range. Not fantastic, but pretty good.
Besides that, they managed to mess up at just about every step of the way, starting with leaving us standing at the host podium for about five minutes with no greeting, leaving us for more than ten minutes after getting seated with no service, getting our drink orders wrong (twice!), serving us bread with no plates, steak with no knives, generally inattentive service, etc. It was seriously like they were hosting tryouts for people who had never worked in a restaurant before. Amateur hour all around, pretty inexcusable for a place like this.
Worse dining experience I have ever had at a Morton’s- the service was terrible - the waitress almost nonexistent- food was not hot - we got a bottle of wine and not once did she check on us again not then to offer us an opportunity to get another bottle which we would have but she was no where to be seen
A wonderful dining experience. The service with Jennifer was remarkable. She was patient with our change of order.
Admittedly we were 10 mins late for our reservation but advised our waiter we were on a time crunch and had to be out in an hour. Ordered our steak medium well and it was rare. Took forever to come and couldn’t even order dessert. I love the Morton’s in San Francisco. Santa Clara is not up to par. Our waiter was delightful and tried his best to get our meal to us. Didn’t even have an appetizer!
I have been to Morton’s at least 30 times and this was the worst service I have every had. This place needs better management and new employees quick
Steak was cold. Bisque was cold.
Crab, artichoke and spinach dip was awesome! Rack of lamb cooked medium rare perfectly !
Great service. Waygu was a little tough
The servers were attentive and friendly. Everyone was kind. I was sadly disappointed with my food. I ordered the lobster bisque their special waygu steak with 3 prawns and for sides we had horseradish potatoes & spinach. Dessert brûlée.
The soup was fine, The sides were yummy. Dessert. Tasted fine but the most expensive of my meal. The $80 waygu was horrible. I’ve had waygu steaks many times. This is the first time I had to use elbow grease to cut the steak. I had to ask for salt to try to flavor it because it tasted plain (not flavorful or juicy) I left hungry because I only ate maybe 2 ounces of my 10 ounce steak.
I didn’t want to complain since we were in a rush and also eating with another couple. My husband decided that we needed to complain. They apologized and offered us a free dessert. Still that was an $80 dessert since I didn’t eat my chewy, poor tasting steak.
(Sad & disappointed)
A premiere steakhouse experience. Excellent wines available
The food is excellent - we have virtually tried most things on the menu and if you are looking for something different than steak try pork chops or the sea bass - both excellent.
Every member of the team is extremely attentive and friendly yet not suffocating making our overall experience an excellent one.
We love it so much we drive 45 miles to eat here!
We went for my birthday. The staff made specialty menus with my name on them and took our picture. Our waitress, Ester, was wonderful.
Steak is delicious and great service. Great being VIP member.
Fantastic food and service! Girlfriend professed she was leaving me for her steak and then begged me to take her back when she was finished with it. 😉😂
José took great care of us and even helped pick girlfriends drink 🍹
Came in on anniversary, got seated right away. Food was fantastic, everything tasted great, presentation was solid and got comped a dessert for the occasion which was great. The one and only complaint was that it was hard to track down the waitress when something was needed. However it was a small flaw in what could only be described as a great night out with some great food.
Great food and experience for the date night with my wife.
My $58 veal chop was tough. My companion's filet was way overcooked. The lobster in her $17 bisque was chewy. At least they comp'ed the two glasses of wine to try to make up for the poor food. Will not return.
Had been to Morton's on several occasions in the past. First time the service was not that efficient. The waitress never paid much attention to our table. Had to keep asking for stuffs and remind on few standard items ~ e.g. bread (of all things).
Me and my girlfriend went there for late valentine's day celebration.
Food: The starter we ordered grilled oyster, which is a little bit salty and the size, total 6, were very different also not easy to chew. We ordered house chop salad which is so so, nothing surprised us. She had a lamp for main course which is overcooked that we asked for medium rear. My prim ribeye, which is $60, was totally not worth it. Its not really prim ribeye, I can absolute get a better quality of meat in Costco... also over cooked for medium rear..
The waitress was speaking very very fast, I did not know what she was rushing for. Sometimes we need to ask her speak again and slow down.
I think I wont go there again.
Good choices for a steakhouse. Could add more vegetarian choices
Veeeeeery slow unpersonable service quite unusual for a Morton’s steakhouse.
My steak came out very under cooked(ordered medium rare) a gentleman who was not our server took the steak back and recommend that I ask for medium plus next time i order a steak it was still pretty red when i got it back but it was very tasty! He also paid for our desert which was unexpected and very nice!
Overall it was a good experience, not outstanding, given the prices. Was my first time there, probably will try other premium steakhouses in the area before I go back.
If you have plenty of money It’s a nice place to go. Steak and service was very good and the bread pudding was delicious. Catch is expect to spend a couple hundred or more if you buy a bottle of wine!
Celebrated Valentine’s Day with friends! We all really enjoyed the evening. It was our friends first time at Morton’s and they love it! We will definitely go back again! The food and service was amazing! Last year we had “hen of the woods” mushrooms and hope Morton’s will bring that dish back again.!
Excellent in every way
We come here all the time and it never disappoints! We’ll be back again!
I’ve patronized Morton’s across the US for many years. The food at this location was questionable. The food was cold and had no flavor, very disappointing when you pay $68.00 for a Steak. When it comes to a chain Steakhouses, Ruth Chris is your best bet.
This is a good restaurant. My expectations are very high for a restaurant of this caliber. My recent visit was not quite as good as my previous experiences at this restaurant although I had no problems. As with any place the service can vary dependent upon the server. I believe the server on Saturday night 2/3 may have been relatively new.
