Excellent 5 star customer service.
Very disappointed in our steaks, and did send one back. Steaks were tuff and lacked flavor. Might have been where we were seated, but music played so loud that we could not have a conversation without yelling. Just gave up trying after awhile.
Not what you expect when dining at Mortons which should be a good experience and treat for diners.
Since I took a dear friend to celebrate a birthday, I was very disappointed except for the great customer service as I mentioned.
My only suggestion is to have a chicken or Wild salmon ( not farmed ) and gluten free. One of our party members didn’t eat red meat or gluten so it was tough to find something on the menu. The Miso Sea bass contains gluten in the miso and the chicken were all breaded as well as the shrimp. Just a suggestion because the menu was very limited and ended up with a chopped salad ( minus the bacon).
Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
Lovely experience that exceeded my expectations with customer service and the little touches surrounding my wife's birthday. We'll be back and next time take friends with us.
The very best place to eat in San Jose. Service is outstanding and the meals are presented in a nice timing together with the drink order.
Steak was poorly seasoned and grisly.
Meat was medium + not medium rare. But did not send back.
Scallops on order were served as shrimp
Three of the oysters very very strong... older?? Will know later.
Server was great tho
The server was nice but very forgetful and made several errors on our orders and didn’t remember how it happened. Also I had an extra $125 charge on my card that I am still disputing. To charge that much for food and not have the customer service dialed in is shameful.
From the time we walked in we felt right at home. They treated us like Royalty!! The service was Amazing and the Food was to DIE for! Can not wait to go again!!! Loved it!!!
From the start our dining experience was great. We ordered from the special Summer Menu which is the perfect option for us. It includes a three course special menu with smaller portions. We still took home leftovers for another dinner. The food, as always, was delicious. Our waiter, Josh, was excellent. I had the Ora King Salmon and it was moist and cooked just right. My husband had the Antipasto Salad with giant grilled Shrimp and loved it. We eat here several times per year and always look forward to it. This dining experience did not disappoint! We will definitely come back.
I realize that it might be expensive but the food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Great ambiance and we had a great time. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Last minute birthday dinner because we had to cancel Maui.
Well, I made reservations for Morton’s three hours before dinner but it was this past Sunday and they were not too busy. I’ve been here twice and my partner has never so for his birthday he wanted to go. Back story, every year we go to Maui and for his birthday dinner I take him out to Spago on Maui, three weeks before we are to leave he falls and breaks his femur bone on the right side, not good. Doctors tell him no trip this year so I had to cancel flight, condo and all reservations for restaurants and tours.
So, birthday dinner at Morton’s was great, I had the Caesar’s salad and he had the oysters on the half shell, for the main course I had the bone in ribeye and he had the special they had that day the Prime NY Flight, it was 4 once each of Prime New York steak, Angus and Kobe, he said it was like butter. We are not really big meat eaters but once in a blue moon sure. Before we had drinks at the bar waiting for our booth to be cleaned and wine by the glass when seated with our meal, the service is top notch and our wait staff Shelly was the best. The hostess was also great, loved her southern accent and charm. The portions are pretty big but then again with red meat we do not eat that much but it will make great leftovers or incorporate it into a new dish. We passed on the dessert but had taken home food and best of all is that it was easy for him to move around with his walker.
The food was great and I know some people complain that it is too expensive; I would say that I would have paid the same in Maui; yes the view in Wailea is breathtaking but the food at Moton’s smoothes the pain of not being on the island.
Morton’s, great food, great staff and time flew as we were that for 2.5 hours!
Another great meal at Mortons. Meal pace was a little slow but we were with good company so OK.
Unfortunately, my rib had to go back twice.
Though everyone was good about it, I think at least the steak should have been comped, not discounted. Disappointed. The second time it came back my rib was just burnt on top. Still ok with mortons wont recommend San Jose though.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere with a great staff!
As always a wonderful experience. Warm welcome, comfortable booth, great food and wine and Wali was a great server. Mel is an outstanding manager
The food was delicious but that was about it. Our waiter was extremely unprofessional and forgot my girlfriends fork, took our bread early, and barely checked up on us the short time we were there.
Good food slow service location and ambience is dark and closed in but the food and quality bar override it all.
Very romantic place! Be expected to cough up some money, but worth every penny.
All three of us were terribly disappointed in our "Morton experience!" The only good part of the meal was the wedge salad, and that's not rocket science! The prosciutto wrapped mozzarella was overdressed, the veal chop tough, my dish had old large asparagus spears, overcooked fillet, under cooked bacon around the scallops and soggy breaded shrimp! Actually sent one back to be replaced but that didn't happen either. The other entree of the three sample fillets was poorly presented and overcooked. Since we were celebrating a birthday fully expected to have a small dessert with a candle, but unfortunately we got the impression that the staff wanted us out as the restaurant was basically empty at an early hour of the evening!
Great Service!! Our waitresses was awesome. Food was in good portions.
Excellent Father's Day lunch. The set 3-course menu was a great deal and the usual menu also being offered was very good to accommodate all tastes within the family. Service was excellent and the food was amazing.
After a 9 hour day at the US Open in Pebble Beach we came into San Jose for dinner before crashing at our hotel. We were 15 minutes late for our 8:15pm reservation but I called in advance to let them know we were running late and we were pleased to still be accommodated. We sat down no problem and the restaurant did not seem any busier than any other Morton's or establishment I had dined at recently on a Saturday night, past 8pm. Our very talkative server had many recommendations on the wine and food menus and wanted to explain a frequent dining card - we honestly just wanted to order our drinks and usual food. With our first round of drinks and food order put in, he came back about 30 minutes later to let us know our food would be another hour-1.5 hours. 9:30pm at this point. I even laughed because I truly thought he was joking. After our shock he darted back into the kitchen area and came back saying he had 'done some homework for us' and it would now only take about 20 minutes. We agreed that 20 minutes was fine but no longer than that. 40 minutes later, a manager or maybe a chef came over to let us know our food would be 4 minutes away and regardless would 'take care' of something for us tonight due to the wait. 4 minutes came and went. 20 minutes later we started to receive food. Entrees, which mind you were lobster, crab (neither of which need to be cooked for long) a steak and 2 sides. The sides came out 10 minutes after our entrees. On top of everything else my lobster was legitimately raw. I left it and devoured my side dish which was also cold. We expressed how frustrated we were that it actually did end up taking an hour not 20 minutes and that my food was inedible! A $50 lobster tail dish. We left absolutely exhausted and still hungry after a 3 dining experience. We also left paying the full tab. There was never a follow up to offering something comped but rather an offer for me to take a lobster tail to go...overall this was a literal $500 nightmare.
Food was delicious. Server was friendly and courteous but he did forget to put in our side order but not before hyping us into a frenzy. Sadly not to be had with this meal even after promising to bring it out but not charge us for it.
Great 1st time experience at restaurant. Server Lauren was fantastic!
Quite expensive for just an ordinary steak dinner
Morton’s is always fantastic. It’s truly the best steak house.
Food is very well executed and tasty...Service team also very attentive.
We arrived about 20 minutes early for our 6:30 reservation and had to wait about 10 minutes for our table.
We were seated right in front of the kitchen which tended to take away from the ambiance and add to the noise level.
Overall impression is that the decor is upscale and seating comfortable.
Had to wait on a waiter to approach us and it seemed that when we weren’t interested in a wine selection his attentiveness started to wane. Bread was slow coming but was good once it arrived.
I think that the waiter was either ivertasked with tables or simply didn’t think we were worthy of proper attention since we were only after our dinner selections and a couple of the shareable sides. His follow up with us was sporadic and I think basically inattentive.
Had to wait for him to check in after we were clearly finished eating. We asked for a doggy bag for my dates leftover steak. She had cut some of it up in anticipation of giving it to our puppies when we got home and saving the uncut portion for a sandwich the next day.
She told the waiter that all we wanted was the leftover meat.
When we got home all that we had was the uncut piece. The pieces we had already cut were apparently thrown out.
Very disappointing when you pay $60 for a steak and they decide that some if your leftover is trash.
The food was good but not really worthy of the pricing. The service was less than you would expect for the prices charged.
Overall, very disappointed in the visit. We could have had as good a dinner for significantly less at other restaurants.
I would pass this restaurant up as there are much better in the area.
Last reservation of the evening and they handled us really well. Food was nicely prepared and very tasty.
We had another very nice dinner for a graduation celebration. Morton's is consistent. The food is fantastic and the service is outstanding.
Morton’s is a great place to celebrate a special occasion! They personalize the menus and they will even take a picture of your party for you and print it immediately as a keepsake (no extra charge). The food is amazing, my husband had the chef’s NY Steak flight witch includes Wagyu from Idaho. Then their key lime pie is homemade and tastes perfect! The service was great too, the staff is very attentive and they have fantastic recommendations. I highly suggest having your next celebration here, just know the price is worth the experience.
Excellent food! The lighting could be a bit brighter. Aside from that, I can't wait until I go there again. The price of the food is what one should expect from a fine dining establishment, so be ready to spend a decent amount of money. However the money you'll spend is so worth it!
Good restaurant, this my second visit to Morton this month, first visit we got small charred broccolini and tasted great! Second visit we order same side dish (charred broccolini) , came out looking like long trees of broccoli. Manager on duty said, this what we got. If not same thing , don’t serve it
Celebrated my son's graduation from San Jose State. Menu said "Congratulation" on top (should have read "Congratulations"). Had to ask for bread and butter three times before it arrived. Cocktails took 20 minutes to prepare. Entrees served lukewarm and my filet was cooked medium well to well (ordered it medium). Ordered several side dishes and the au gratin potatoes were very disappointing (they weren't au gratin, just potato wedges covered with melted cheese). The french fries were bland (not salted) and not freshly made. Spent over $500 for the five of us and my son wasn't even offered a complimentary dessert to celebrate his graduation. In general no value for the amount of money spent and very disappointed in the preparation of the food. Waiter (John) was very nice and did a good job. Dining room was very dark, quiet and depressing. Men's restroom not very clean and the floor was disgusting. Will go to Ruth's Chris next time to get a sizzling hot steak!
Sat a long time this visit before our waitress attended to us, and service was extremely slow between courses, and then again waiting for the bill!?
Always a fun experience at Morton’s. Business or Family can all enjoy a night out
Solid dining experience. Service was good, food was OK.
The porterhouse steak had no flavor but the lobster was awesome. I think the seafood was a lot better than their steaks.
Upon our arrival, the bar was absolutely full! So glad we'd pre-arranged a table in the dining room.Excellent service! We really like this Morton's in San Jose. Great for special occasions.
The food was nicely prepared and presented. Very tasty and everything was served to our liking.
Only downfall was music was a bit loud and man at table (booth) next to us had a BOOMING low voice. He wanted to be heard across his table so he talked and belly laughed really loud. Unfortunately his voice carried to our next booth and into me leftT ear really LOUDLY. Sooooo glad when they left. A party of 10-12 arrived shortly afterward and were seated very near us. Not once, with all of those people, was there disturbingly loud voices. Amazing.
I kind of think if the music volume was lower to start, it would be more of a pleasant & classy dining experience. Leave the rowdy overbearing voices at the bar.
