View Private Dining DetailsIt is a great place. Excellent food and wonderful service. Always a good stop, it makes an meal eventful
Everything was perfect! Since the hostess’s attention to the table they prepared to the food and finally the Alex service and recommendation.
All of them they made a perfect evening for a 10th year marriage anniversary!!!
Overall a very positive experience, the food was fantastic and the service efficient. However, I find the prices very, very expensive even to San Francisco standards.
Great place to celebrate a special occasion! Definitely will be back!
We prefer the old style, before Landry's bought out this staple. Steaks on the tray to choose...desserts.....just a different ambiance. For the average meal I prefer RChris, now Mortons has become average at a much higher cost than average should be...ho hum
You can count on the food at Mortons to always be good. We had two items off of the specials that day - a heirloom salad with burrata and a "bacon" steak, which was very good. I also ordered the ahi tuna tower which was delicious. The night we were there though, the service was really off. The waitress was a bit slow and she got my order wrong. I had wanted to start with the salad and have the ahi tuna tower as my entree. After waiting awhile for the salad, she brought everything all together so I had 2 big dishes in front of me. When I mentioned that I wanted the salad first, she said she misunderstood me but left the 2 big dishes. When looking at the dessert menu and contemplating coffee, we told her we had about 25 minutes until we had to leave for a show we were attending. She came back about 12 minutes later to ask about dessert, which at this point was too late. It took her another 10 minutes to come back with the check. Super SLOW!!! This restaurant is a definite go to, especially if you're going to the theatre nearby but hopefully we don't get the same waitress the next time!
El mignon estuvo bueno sin ser extraordinario. Lo pedí con mantequilla con trufa negra se les olvidó. Papas a la francesa con paremesno OK. Esperas un servicio más personal y ....
Regresar? Mmmmm... creo que seguiré explorando
69th birthday!
A personal must for every trip to SF and once again Mortons did not disappoint. I almost went back for lunch the following day and regret not doing so.
Took a small baby, everything was great!!
restaurant was so dark several tables were using their flashlight on their phone to see food and menu at the table very distracting to say the least. waiter forgot to write down our appetizer we didn't realize this till they were serving us our steaks. when we ask he said sorry he forgot to write it down. we were have way done with our steaks another person came by and ask if everything was good we told him what happen he said give him a minute he would go fire someone. hope that was his try at a joke then he offered to start our experience over but seeing we were halve way done with our steaks that would not work. very very disappointed!!!!
The steak did not arrive as ordered, but the server attempted to remedy the situation and was very kind .
The food is just too expensive for what it is. Nothing was great and it was a fortune!
Steak over cooked cream spinach too much cream and no taste and they rush u. Loud and very corporate inside. Izzy’s steak 10x better and better value
We've been to Morton's Burbank and Sacramento several times and have always had a great experience. We thought SF would be the same. Definitely not the case.
The good: the restaurant is in a convenient location in Union Square and close to parking. Cocktails were tasty. Side of creamed corn was delicious.
The bad: it was quite loud - we could barely hear our waiter. The food took a very long time to arrive, and when it did it was underwhelming. I had the salmon mixed grill, and the shrimp were cold and over cooked, the crab was cold, and the salmon was hot but charred and parts were simply inedible. It was so dark I really couldn't see what I was eating but it was probably better that way - at least I knew it wasn't underdone. We also had the filet mixed grill and the steak was overdone for a medium rare order, and the shrimp were also overdone. The coffee was terrible and weak. The creme brulee was watery in consistency. The Lyonnaise potatoes were also over fried to the point we couldn't stick our fork through some.
We will probably go back to the Burbank and Sacramento locations, but never the SF one. There are far too many great restaurants (and specifically steakhouses) in SF to waste your time and money here.
Best waitress ever 😃😃👍
More expensive than I remembered and my $71 steak was not properly cooked.
The staff had chosen a great table off to the side and sprinkled Birthday confetti on the table as well as customized the menus with the name of the Birthday guy and gave a delicious dessert at the end of our meal. Although, I’m vegetarian, I’d bring my friends back for their bday in the future because of the great treatment.
Very overpriced for food quality. Steak was chewy and we ended up sending back a side because it was so oversalted we couldn't bear to eat it (coming from someone who typically loves savory dishes). Many alternatives in SF for steak which are much better and cheaper.
We have been going to Morton’s for a while. This time not only was service sub par but so was the food. The ahi tuna tower was bland and tasteless. The oysters so large there was no way to eat them. The steak undercooked. The service nonresponsjve even though the place was not packed. Even when we mentioned that one our guests had a part of the oyster still stuck in her throat the response was “that’s how big they are now”. I understand you can’t change nature but be a little more caring about someone who is having a hard time with something in her throat perhaps instead of making comments like that?? With a bill of over 450 dollars with sharing entrees and several apps with a cocktail each and two glasses of wine I thought it was absurd. There was nothing to indicate that this was an almost 500 dinner for three especially when the service was as it was. Please don’t get me wrong as I rarely leave a review but this visit left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended) and it would be a very long time before we came back or ever recommended this place to others. Our guest was disappointed at our choice of dinner venues and we were disappointed at everything else.
We had not been to Morton’s SF in a while. The steak was fantastic and the service was attentive and friendly. Definitely will be back.
We went to Morton’s for my birthday dinner. They did a great job of personalizing the experience for me in a classy understated way. The menu was labelled Happy Birthday and I could take it home (even though I forgot to do so), the table was sprinkled with birthday decorations and they created a delicious birthday dessert.
Great food
Loved the bday decor on the table and the happy bday greeting. Made my dad feel really special.
The food was good! Nothing great for the money but they did a great job making us feel special since it was a Birthday Celebration!
Great food
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. I was not feeling well and wanted to come and pickup food, but told that was only allowed for a couple of hotels - one was the Kimpton. I was at the Sir Francis Drake which is the Kimpton, but the gal who answered the phone said no? She had no clue the SFD is the Kimpton. So, I came in and just sat in the bar. Service was terrible. Took forever to get someone to wait on me. When, I did get to order I ordered soup and bread. The soup came, but not bread. I had to wait forever to get the servers attention and then when I asked for the bread, she was super snippy and said she would put in an order? When I started to eat the bread, a bug of some sort came crawling out. I got the attention of another server and showed her. She said sorry and took it away. Nobody ever addressed it again. Finally, I had to wait forever to get a check. In fact had to go to the bar to get it and checkout. The bartender was great, but even then the server never came back. We hadn't had any issues other than me asking for bread. I was very nice. Also, I first stopped by at 5 pm to see if I could just sit in the bar and eat. I asked if I could get some lobster bisque and one of the other bar bite items. The gal at the hostess stand said there was no way to get soup before 5:30 pm. Really? I did proceed to make a reservation and things rolled up as stated above. I don't plan on coming to Mortan's in SF again. I travel a lot and eat at Mortan's in other cities frequently. We love Mortan's in Boston! Mortan's SF just didn't seem to want customers. Really disappointing.
So noisy ... could hardly hear ... service was poor ... the filet was very good ... 9.75 for house made bottled water! ... pretty nervy ...
The food was good but the sides were underwhelming. Skip the lobster Mac and cheese it just isn’t that good, messy and runny. We should have sat at the bar and had bar bites. Much better than the stuff yourself entrees.
Our server Willow was so pleasant and attentive. I watched her with other customers, and she didn't skip a beat to please. We felt very valued as a customer, and our food came to us very quickly. Top notch place to share a special date with someone. The Cajun prime rib my husband ate did not disappoint, and as for my porterhouse bone in.. it was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!! We finally our dinner with a creamy lava cake and vanilla ice cream. Yum!
Classic steakhouse! Amazing service with top quality cuts of meat. Will definitely visit again.
My first time to Morton's and I really enjoyed it. From the wine to the steak everything was perfect.
This was a great dinner. Staff was awesome and the food was incredible.
Was ready to “not like” this place - very old school steakhouse. I was wrong. The food was prepared deliciously and I truly enjoyed it! The prices were just silly high however. Overall very good - but lots of other places I would prefer to spend my dollars. I suspect places like this will start to lose clientele as it’s geared toward the “older set” - and I’m north of 60!
too expensive for what you get. It was not that great.
Cajun ribeye streak. 100% recommended.
Food, service and atmosphere were great. Enjoyable birthday dinner with the family
Server was fantastic! Food was good. Didn’t care too much for the bread as it’s pretty messy and gets all over. Sliced bread would work much better. When you’re sitting trying to have a great romantic dinner it’s a little off with crust messy bread going all over.
Food is not good for the price. Steak was slightly over cooked.
Went for valentines. Romantic
