Excellent. Service is worth it! Steaks as good as always. Better than all other steakhouses.

Old School steakhouse. Steaks were great, server was knowledgeable and good, hostess kept seating everybody together even though the whole restaurant was empty. The Somm was a novice, he was literally going to marry two bottles of wine together, one that had been open for several days with a brand new one. Ugh.

My daughter and some friends were spending the night in SF for her 16th birthday, so my wife and i came over too just to be in the area while they did their thing. My father in law had also just survived an extra-delayed flight from Scotland, and we decided that he deserved a big steak. Morton's was close to our hotel, and we've had good experiences there. Once again, this place came through. Great steaks, great sides, great drinks, and great service. Thanks again, and we'll be back!

Our food and table service was exceptional. I only rated 4-stars because the hostesses were apathetic to my mother-in-law who has to use a cane to get around. My husband dropped us off at the front so that he could park the car. Being in the middle of a touristy area in San Francisco, that would take some time. As most of our party was there, we asked to be seated and was told our table was ready, but everyone needed to be there before they would let us sit. We waited in the bar while my mother-in-law stood. A kind gentleman offered his bar stool, but there was no way my MIL could “hop” up and down in her condition. After 10 minutes, my MIL was in pain so my sister-in-law finally speaks to them again so we can be seated. Once at the table, everything was wonderful.
After our meal, my husband & I went to get the car while my MIL waited with my SIL. They asked the hostess if she could have a chair until our car arrived and they would not accommodate her. Luckily the door man saw what was happening and bought a chair our for her. I’d like to thank him for his kindness.

Overall another great experience at Morton's... my only feedback is it can be a little too dark to read the menu.

While I do like the Morton’s chain overall, this particular unit continues to disappoint. I suspect that the current manager is keen to show good short-term financial results, but at the expense of ongoing patronage. I’ve dined here perhaps 15 times or more, but would not do so again.
The time before last, I was denied seating at my table, although it was available, until the last of my party arrived. I’ve encountered this rule at no other Morton’s.
At my most recent meal, the Syrah I ordered from the printed wine list was not in stock. My second choice Syrah, of comparable price, was also, curiously, no longer available. Most restaurants, in my experience, apologize and offer a bottle of the same varietal at a higher price point, but charge only at the level of your first choice. (They still profit, of course, given the high mark-up on wines.) Not this Morton’s. The waiter remained stonily silent, and I had to pay much more for a bottle I really did not want.
My advice? Try Alfred’s or another good steakhouse in SF. There are many. But the Morton’s locations elsewhere are still probably good. I doubt that the SF restaurant’s practices reflect a new corporate strategy.

I just enjoy Morton's everytime I go --- the food is always amazing, and the service impeccable. On this particular occasion, I have to heap praise on Natalie, our server. She was unobtrusive but knew when to check in, what a lovely person.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed.
We love Morton’s but this time the oysters tasted bad and the filet was not the best.
Sides were just ok
It was Mom’s 72 Birthday and it was very disappointing.
Service was outstanding as always.

I have dined in Morton’s in Dallas many times. I’ve always love the experience, so I was looking forward to this dining experience in San Francisco. Our waitress was average, until she went on break for 20+ minutes and left us with a partner who was rude and obnoxious with a horrible attitude. I really expect more from an expensive restaurant than the terrible service that we received. Shame on Morton’s. I’m not sure if I’ll go back again.

It was my husband's 50th birthday celebration. We arrived and there were customized menus with a birthday greeting at the top and happy birthday confetti on the table...very festive! The food was incredible...steak was done to perfection and the sides were delicious. The meal was topped off by a complimentary dessert and candle for my husband. Thanks Morton's...you made his night!!

Food was great, server was really nice but needed practice with his wine service, he spilt our wine all over the table and our glasses, not what we wanted with a bottle that was several hundred dollars. Overall a great experience though.

The food was ok. The potato dish was excellent - double baked O'Brien. The pork chop was tasteless. The bone in filet was good. The bread was terrible. It had onion flakes on it. They did not have a substitute. The birthday photo was really nice. It was close to the theater. We would go back under the right circumstances, but Harris' is better and a better value

We have dined in Morton's in a number of areas and are always happy with the experience. This trip my husband got the waygu strip steak special and found it to be very stringy and not very tasty. We were not asked how our dinner was going so no chance to let anyone know.

I'm not really a red meat eater, so when colleagues suggested Morton's I wasn't looking forward to it. I was pleased to discover that they do fish very well too. In addition, their sides and appetizers were tasty. Deserts are huge. It's pricey, but quality is high. Good place for business meals.

This is the classical case when a place over lives their reputation and start slacking. The food was once great and awesome, now more MEH! But still a considerable wine list and excellent truffle fries.

Server was a bit rude and non attentive.

Very disappointed. Normally a great franchise, but this location is off the rails. The service, normally a hallmark of the chain, was just plain bad. Too few servers, too many tables crammed in. The open kitchen concept at the back turns into a noise fest. The set up folks bang dishes, serving plates w/o any regard for patrons. A glass noise barrier would help. Frankly, seeing the preparation is a turn-off. The "kitchen" is old, and not appealing to watch. There is no flair in the presentation of courses. They need a manager and a re-make asap. Too many other places are way better, for this to last, even in a tourist town.

Morton's has been my go to restaurant for years and years. Every town I visit that has one, we always make reservations, especially for special occassions. We just returned from a trip to Las Vegas where we dined. We go to New Orleans annually and dine at that location. All over CA and Hawaii. I really cannot name all locations. I am a family nurse practitioner and I ALWAYS encourage our pharmaceutical venders to have our educational dinners at SF or San Jose. This visit however was catastrophic starting >30 min after our reservation. My fave steak is the porterhouse. Never have I had a more fibrous piece of meat at any steak house.Absolutely no relation to prime. My husband whose birthday we were celebrating had the Cajun steak which was just a half notch above as it had no pink as requested(med). Our reservations were at 9 and we were seated at 9:45 and served our steaks at 10:25 so sending them back was not an option if we wanted to have a relaxing dinner and get home before midnight. There was no recognition of my husband's birthday which has never occurred in any town, city or state. After spending $265 with tip, we completed our evening of celebration for 2 with an unusual empty disappointed feeling. The money lost was not the issue. We are aware at all times of what it costs at an upscale steak house and do not mind. We have had many special dinner celebrations with drinks at Morton's for parties over the years. We do not plan to stop. Just wanted the powers that be to be aware. Not all occasions have been perfect, but I never felt that I should take "pen in hand" to share an unhappy experience.
I appreciate you time and hope that you respond to my concern.
