Morton's The Steakhouse - Richmond Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I were searching for a restaurant that would allow us to create a special memory as we would celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our waiter Sean and the staff at Morton's did not disappoint. Our experience was memorable for all of the right reasons. Food was excellent, atmosphere was perfect, and the service was incredible.
We paid $79 each for 2 steaks. Mine was no cook to a Med well. They took it back and the chef just heated it more(I saw him) and returned it to me. Not tasty! Side was late arriving. I can cook a better steak then this chef.
Service staff was great. We ended up with $325 for food only no alcohol. This was our 26th anniversary and I was extremely disappointed!
We came in knowing that we were going to have a good time and the staff and food maintained in exceeding our expecting as they always do. I wish I knew where to start! The burrata salad, oh my god. Any cheese lover needs too experience it. Speaking of cheese, the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella is so good. But let's get to the big deal; my dry aged New York strip streak. I didn't even know it was an option until the servers, James and Stephanie described it. It's so rich. It was pretty much like a concentrated steak flavor in a monumental 18oz cut. I wish I could say I finished it but it was so much food that I had to take the rest home. Of course I had to save a cubic inch Of room for dessert. Who doesn't Love a professionally crafted sundae? I can't wait to come back again.
The food was excellent! We ordered Filet Mignons, grilled oysters , scallops and horseradish potatoes... The steaks were cooked to perfection!!! The dessert (chocolate cake and ice cream) was delicious.. The only NEGATIVE issue was the slow service.. The restaurant was quite empty but still the service was slow.. From the start we were waiting extended periods of time on drinks, entrees and dessert... I would come back again for the food but Mortons need to improve on timely service..
This was our first time dining with Mortons it was for my birthday. The service was awesome. The food was awesome and tasted great. We will be dining at Mortons again. The food was well worth every dollar spent. It was my birthday and they had a nice table set and took a nice birthday couples picture of us what a way to feel special at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend dining here. I give Mortons 5 stars for sure. The atmosphere was very romantic and elegant, very fancy. Thanks Mortons for making this a very special birthday.
All the hype is true! Dining at Morton's is definitely a very special experience. You're treated like a VIP from the moment you enter the restaurant. The meal & drinks were outstanding, to say the least. We may not be able to go often, but rest assured we WILL be back!
I was always a Mortons person even had the awards program card but this location is really not good. I have sent my steak back on avg once a year and go here 3 or 4 times a year. They just have cooks not chefs. How hard is it to get MR steak. Waitress laid my steak down and she told me she told the cook to make medium rare and never came back. Good news was that the $59 bone in rib eye was enjoyed by my dogs.
We were looking forward to a special steak dinner but instead received a very average meal. My husband ordered the bone-in ribeye medium rare and received a very rare steak that had so much grizzle that he couldn't even eat it. I ordered the filet with scallops and shrimp. You could tell it sat under the heat lamp for quite some time as the top of the shrimp and the scallops were cooked to a crust on the top. My filet was medium not medium rare as ordered but the flavor was good. I am not one to complain and didn't send our order back as it was already 9:00 when we got it. Instead we ordered more wine. Just thought it would be good for management to know.
It was a great experience for my husband and I as well celebrated our anniversary. I mentioned through my OpenTable reservation that it was our anniversary and everyone was aware and very throughout in our experience. The table was set with us in mine and we received a complementary photo and great service. The food was excellent to say the least, from the appetizer to the dessert.
I been to several Morton's including the original in Chicago. The one in Richmond seems like the red headed step child of the chain as the restaurant is small and under some sort of renovation and does not resemble the typical steak and seafood restaurant at all.....rather rundown with wobbly tables, unpainted walls.......my party included 5 adults 2 children...cost was $720 including tip...this is the same price print I have spent in NYC and Chicago steak houses far superior ... hence the mediocre rating I had given this establishment....the quality of the food was also disappointing, especially the sides, rather bland.. the tuna was the exception which was outstanding, the steaks almost seem to be from a local big box store...I suspect the reasoning is low turnover...the bottom line, very expensive, ambiance needs lots of refinement and the food quality No way justifies the end cost....recommend avoiding
Had a terrible experience.....very slow service. Then when my steak wasn't cooked right they lied about getting me a new one. They told me it takes 45 minutes to cook so they had to give me a regular plain steak instead, to only find out by the waiter later on they didn't have anymore of the steak I originally ordered. Then they did nothing to compensate but take the steak off the bill. How could a well known steakhouse be out of steak & have managers who lie.
