Food, service and ambience at Morton’s are always good. A great place for a quality meal.
Great venue for dinner with my parents. Staff was impeccable from the moment we walked in the door to service at our table. Very impressive and highly recommend visiting and dining at this location. Food quality is superb and great value for the money. Cant wait to go back again.
my retirement and moving away dinner with my wife of 47 years
Generally excellent all around as usual. Guests remarked that they thought the prices were unusually high compared to other local restaurants and the mixed grills were expensive ($60) for the amount of food in the serving. And the prices for cocktails were the highest they have paid in Reston. They are not likely to return.
Took my kids to Morton's to celebrate their 18th birthdays. The staff was outstanding and really made my kids feel extra special from the moment we walkes in when the matre'd greeted us. There were personalized menus waiting at our table and all of the wait staff assigned to our table wished my sons birthday greetings.
The food was outstanding and prepared perfectly! We left full and satisfied.
Thank you Morton's for the wonderful experience and the wonderful memories you gave us!
I originally made reservations for 4 people at Founding Farmer...but decided to go to Morton's in Reston instead because the wait and food at FF is always unpredictable. Glad I did! We were seated right away, we ordered a 3 course lunch for $31 (I couldn't believe it), and it all arrived quickly and at the same time. All of it was so good!!! Our server, Victoria was attentive and great. I have had her several times, and she is excellent. This is the place to go to!!! The hostess Meron was really nice and provided us with information on their Labor Day event. We will definitely be there!!
Very rushed service. Not what you would expect when paying top dollars
We had reservations and had to wait 15 minutes for our table to become ready. Once we were seated, we didn’t see our waiter for at least 25 minutes for our drink orders. We asked the manager on two separate occasions that our drink orders had yet to be taken. The steaks were either cold in the center or warm, if best. To top it off, no compensation was made for the delay in the service. We will never be returning to this Morton’s again.
Overall decent experience. Tried it since we had $100 gift certificate given to us by a friend. The $100 paid for our first drinks and appetizers. You know you will be spending a lot when you go to one of these chain steakhouses and you expect the food to be perfect. Little disappointed in our steaks as they were not as flavorful as we have come to expect at places like Flemings or Ruth Chris. Service was ok although felt rushed and waited 10 minutes before the waitress came back after taking our drink order. Place was busy (reservation was Saturday at 8:00PM), but again, when you are paying over $400 for dinner, you expect almost perfection. Will opt for Flemings next time as we have eaten there several times and it is always good.
Our entire experience was a little disappointing. Service was disjointed and slow. It took 30 minutes for our 3 glasses of wine to be delivered to the table. The salad was drowning in dressing and our steaks were overcooked. To be fair, we visited during restaurant week, so perhaps that was a contributing factor, but the experience was just bad enough that we likely won't return.
Great food and served hot.
With Restaurant Week pricing, this is the best value EVER!
Excellent service...simply superb, and very tasty food! Quality meats and fresh ingredients—dessert menu is delicious and delightful.
Birthday lunch. Very very good good
Amazing as always, everything was fantastic.
Perfect for a business dinner and celebration of a special event....
Wonderful experience as always, Darya took excellent care of us. Amazing food and great hospitality.
My husband and I went there for our anniversary. When we first got there the ambience was very very nice, but as the evening went on it got very very loud. A little too loud for a romantic dinner. The service was excellent. My husband and I ordered a fillet mignon and a bone in ribeye steak, both were cooked perfectly and delicious. We ordered two sides to share, the lobster mac & cheese and the au gratin potatoes. We found them both to be very dry and not very good. We also ordered dessert, crème brûlée which was also very delicious. Overall, a good experience. I think next time we would pass on the sides. One final note it was nice to go out and have a really nice meal, however it’s a little bit too pricey for what we ordered.
The only reason that I wouldn't recommend it to a friend is because I am not fancy and either are my friends and the prices and the restaurant itself made me feel uncomfortable. It was hard to enjoy the food feeling like maybe I didn't belong there. It was crazy that a glass of prosecco was $15, especially for the amount that was in the glass/size of the glass. Personally, I wouldn't return but I understand that there are people who feel very comfortable in a fancy place. I just learned that I'm not one of them. I will say, the food was fantastic, even the bread that was served. So I was not at all disappointed by the food or the service.
Our evening was excellent! The service was great, the steak was the best we ever had!!
Birthday party for 8 - very well done.
Both my wife and I are very experienced and discriminative consumers of fine dining and steak in particular. Of the several "steakhouse chains" to be found in the DC/northern VA area, we have made the rounds, but had tended to ignore Morton's due to relative inaccessibility (the one close to us closed years ago). Decided to go out of our way to get to a Morton's, the one in Reston, VA.
The experience was MEMORABLE, almost across the board. My 8oz filet was, in one word, 'perfect', even though I like medium well and let the chef butterfly it. Sides (mushrooms, onion rings) were similarly OUTstanding. I'd avoid the "Horseradish mashed potatoes" - not much horseradish (or any other) flavor. Try the corn instead - it looked great, and is in season (locally sourced?) In the same light, ditch the French Onion Soup in favor of the wedge salad.
My wife had the tomato and blue cheese salad appetizer - superb! Her NY strip was almost totally devoid of trim (unusual!) and perfectly prepared for her taste (med rare).
Very nice wine list, but a bit light on domestic reds (other than California). The availability of Barboursville Octagon (award-winning Virginia wine) would have been a nice touch, and very appropriate, given the venue. That said, they did have the Simi Cab, a long-term fave of ours (Trivia: It was Ronald Reagan's personal favorite wine in the whole world, and he had a cargo 747 of it flown to DC to supply the various inaugural balls in January 1981).
Desserts were typical for a steakhouse; availability of 'just plain ice cream' made up for any possible deficiency. (Hot fudge sundae would be a great add to the options, at minimal incremental effort, since they already offer Haagen-Dazs IC).
BOTTOM LINE: Both my wife and I were thrilled by the experience across the board, and are already anticipating a near-term return (with swap-outs as suggested above). I STRONGLY recommend the Reston Morton's to ANY AND ALL steak lovers!
Sad to watch a fine dining institution go the way of a chain restaurant. The waiter tried hard but was hard to understand. My steak (bone in Rib-eye) was average. They claimed they had not lobsters at first but then found one. Dessert menu was a plastic sheet that had seen better days. it was an okay meal but your expect more at a Morton's. I now lean towards Capital Grill and Ruth Chris these days. The service from everyone else was pretty good and they did follow up on the phone the next day with a message.
Amazing experience, food and service was out of this world!
The service and food were great. We were celebrating a birthday. Special menus were on our table for the occasion and a souvenir photo of our group was presented to us. All very nice. The only complaint is the noise level. There was a very large group of people at and table behind us and a speaker directly above our table playing music rather loud. This made it difficult for us to hear each other during our conversations. We asked several times if the music could be lowered. It was turned down but for only short periods of time.
I had a business colleague visit from out of town and we dined here. I intended to impress him, and boy, did I! Everything was nearly perfect, from cocktails, service, wine, seating, ambience, and.. the food! Oh, the food! Escargot, ribeye, baked potato, creamed spinach, Gran Marnier souffle, coffee. Perfect.
Amazing wedding anniversary dinner experience. The special touches of rose petals, customized menus, a picture made into a card signed by the staff...just wonderful. The food of course is what you expect from Mortons--delicious.
I have, and the people who have visited on my recommendation have enjoyed the food and experience.
Great experience. I've had mixed experience for lunch but dinner was great. Superb service.
The waiter was amazing and may have won us back over to Morton’s. We used to go quite a bit but it got kind of starchy and is not great service. Tonight amazing service very attentive well served
Unbelievable food, old school mafia feel to the ambiance and truly spectacular service. Would dine again 10/10
Food and service was great, as usual. Our guests also loved the food and service.
It was my birthday & they made it so special: the menu at our table had my name & they took & our picture, printed it, attached it to the card and signed it! So much effort 😍
The food was outstanding 👌 too!!
Nice deal great place. Valet was kinda cheap too :)
Sara was top five waitresses we have had in last decade.
Was a great birthday dinner and we were well cared for! Porterhouse was spectacular as always!
Wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. Food and service are amazing. We appreciate all of you making our bday celebration memorable!
Too much nutmeg in creamed spinach, Ruth’s Chris’ is vastly superior. Tomato and onion salad should not have chopped onion unless the entire salad is chopped. A balsamic dressing should be available. Most importantly, don’t bring me a steak and then ask if it is cooked correctly. News flash: professional chefs use thermometers. It’s clear to me they don’t check out n purpose because an overdone steak is expensive to throw away so why not take the chance that the customer won’t complain.
Always a great experience at this location. Veronica and Eddy are my absolute favorite servers!
This was an amazing experience. From the onion soup and spinach, arugula and strawberry salad as appetizers to the ribeye and sirloin steaks that we had as entrees, to the chocolate souffle that we ended with represented the best meal we have ever had. Our server name was Michael and he was knowledgable and very professional. He added much to the dining experience..ask for him when you visit. A truly amazing restaurant
