Amazing from the time of arrival until we left. Our waiter James was amazing. He addressed us by our names and he remembered the occasion we were celebrating. The food was delicious. Season to perfection. First time dining and it won’t be my last.
It was quiet, customers well-spaced, and the food and drinks were excellent- as usual.
Overall a fantastic dining experience.
Food was delicious and I felt they took excellent Covid precautions.
Anniversary
Outstanding service... Can't say any more... Best...
Very happy to have a traditional steak meal at Mortons. Nice to see them open and actually quite busy.
Food was outstanding. In-bone Filet was great, and we split with a Lobster tail. I will say I am glad we split the lobster tail. It was small, and if I had ordered as a meal, I would have been dissapointed. Splitting the two was perfect meal for two.
Service was attentive, but a little rehearsed. Our server could relax a little. I got the feeling she was speed reading her script, but very attentive.
Atmosphere was good. Almost pre-COVID.
Wine by the glass was okay. I think they could up their quality and keep the prices still in line.
It was an amazing experience as always!!!
Great experience. The ambience was a little weird.
Pork chop not properly cooked. Manager took care of it. Wait staff was stretched thin.
Having moved from Phoenix several years ago we made a special trip to Morton's for our anniversary - it's not what we remember. In Phoenix, it was always expensive but ALWAYS an experience - worth it. This was just standard steakhouse experience, nothing special or unique.
One thing that did stand out was when our waiter offered us a chance to open a Landry's credit card at the end of the meal. That was new... (we declined)
Bill was our server and it was absolutely amazing. Food was cooked to perfection, it was a wonderful date night.
After many enjoyable evenings at Morton's, this one was not.
For starters, we had to cancel our reservation for Saturday because of the ice storm. I was told by a rude person on the phone that it would cost $100 if we didn't show up or reschedule, but we could reschedule only for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. So we rescheduled for Monday. I wondered, though, if the restaurant had closed because of the storm, would all of us with reservations have received $100 from the owners?
At dinner, we ordered a lobster bisque, a 16 oz. NY strip, medium well, with lobster tail, a filet, medium, and a baked potato to split. There was no lobster bisque. OK. Sometimes they run out of things. When the waiter brought the food, he had two strips, no potato, no filet, and no lobster. Both steaks were extremely rare.
I asked that mine be taken back and cooked some more, and asked for my lobster tail. My wife acquiesced rather than wait longer. The potato was brought while I waited.
When the waiter returned, he brought what looked like an 8-10 oz. strip, a room temperature lobster tail -- and a filet that my wife had specifically said there was no need to prepare, as she was eating the strip.
The waiter bagged the filet and we ended up taking it home.
We were charged a full price for this debacle.
Mistakes happen. It was a fairly busy holiday night. But I expect a lot more from Morton's. This was a subpar performance from beginning to end, with no substantive effort to remedy the mistakes.
Most unusually -- or maybe not -- not one manager stopped by our table to ask how our dinner was. In probably two dozen visits to Morton's over the years, that was the first time that ever happened. Maybe they knew and didn't want to ask.
This was a special birthday celebration. I called ahead for special help, which they intelligently and gladly helped with. Arrival at the restaurant revealed other special touches in addition to the exceptional food and service. the entire experience left the birthday boy feeling totally pampered and for me it was the best thing I could have done for his birthday. Kudos to Morton's in Reston!!!
Everything was great....I will definitely be going back and using open table.
Food was very good, as always is, but had one issue that being the truffle butter. It was a bit expensive for what we received and seemed a little old - taste wise. The steaks and the grill asparagus was excellent.
A very nice clean and romantic environment. The best quality of service and food.
I personally think that Ruth Chris is better but I did enjoy my meal here
I went here with my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day. The service was really poor, it started off with us trying to order a salad, the Mortons salad, we asked what was in there, he said that there was blue cheese dressing. We told the server that we did not like blue cheese so then we said we would go with the chophouse salad, Which had blue cheese in it. We sent back the salad but was very disappointed the sever was not paying any attention to us. The next problem was The server kept trying to push us to get the 42 ounce prime ribeye steak instead of the 24 ounce. We had to tell him multiple times that we did not want to go with a 42 ounce steak. With the steak we wanted the add on scallops for 15. The server intentionally gave us the appetiser order for 25. He constantly tried to up sale us which was very Unprofessional. The food was not that great and the service was horrible for the price we paid. Also my gf and I did have stomach problems later on that night. The next day I tried to eat the left over steak and ended up have stomach issues again. If you want to go to a 5 star steakhouse I highly recommend Eddie Merlots and DC prime, you will get a awesome experience, food and your moneys worth.
Great atmosphere, food was very good, although I will say last time it was exceptional - it went down just a touch with a little too much seasoning on the Cajun Ribeye and not quite enough flavor in the sour cream mashed potatoes.
Service is generally good here, though they did forget table bread, even after I mentioned it. One thing they really need to do is find a better area for guests to await their table than just crowded around the entrance and being constantly asked to move to one inconvenient location to another. This difficulty was evident even prior to Covid.
What can I say about Morton’s? The Cajun ribeye is literally to die for. As soon as the waiter put the plate in from of me, I nearly picked up the steak and swallowed it ( a joke).
Of course the food was great, good COVID protocols, felt safe and we had your best and our favorite server Eddy. A perfect evening, thank you.
GREAT overall service 5/5. Only negative thing I have to say was that I arrived 15 mins prior to my 3pm reservation and it was closed and showed no indications of even being opened so I concerned that my reservation that was confirmed through a call wasn’t going to happen because they typically open at 5pm.
During Valentines Day couples dinner, servers spilled lobster and steak juice onto one of our guest's back, soiling her clothes, coat and Chanel purse. Manager stopped by to find out what occurred, then disappeared. Our check arrives - incorrect amount BTW, but no manager. Waited at least 5 minutes for manager to return AFTER we requested him, only to hear him say "So what's the problem?". At a $$$$ rated restaurant, we should not need to school a manager how to perform his job, yet we literally had to. Starting with request for his business card, agreement to reimburse cleaning costs, etc. The initial unapologetic attitude from this manager was astounding. We told him we would never return to Morton's again. Hence, we will remain loyal to the Capital Grille instead.
We were there on a Saturday night for Valentine's Day and did not have the greatest experience. Our filets were extremely overcooked and our server tried to charge us $10 a bottle for water. I'm not sure if they were just busy that night, but after our experience I'm not sure I'd go back.
Service was way below the normal level. Food was not served hot. This Morton’s has always been an A++ for everything. Every other time it has been awesome.
I was really disappointed this time
This was our second year celebrating Valentines Day at Mortons and it was another wonderful evening.
Miranda was our server and she did an amazing job. Very pleasant and sweet.
Morton’s was a really nice place, service was impeccable. I would have preferred a little more light, in order to read the menu properly. The waiter was very attentive and courteous .
Great service but food was subpar taste wise.
Although everything is quite expensive, every single morsel of food is cooked to perfection. Have you EVER had a piece of asparagus where the very bottom was not fibrous? People only eat the tip because that’s the best part. Well at Morton’s, the whole thing is as good as the tip.
Our server Will, was an amazing server! He was so attentive to us and made sure we taken the entire night!
Early Valentine’s Day dinner with my wife
It took 45 mins to be seated for a 7pm reservation and the restaurant was clearly packed. Their restaurant week section of the website needs clarification as it appears the restaurant is offering both a $35 and $55 dinner menu which is not true. The $35 menu is lunch and the $55 menu is dinner. Definitely felt like a bait and switch. The food was tasty but one of the desserts listed was a sea salted caramel cheesecake and they served a plain piece of cheesecake and when asked brought me a bowl of caramel sauce.
We went there during restaurant week to celebrate my birthday. The place was packed on Saturday evening but was not noisy at all. Ambience was great. Nice place to enjoy evening dinner. Food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the legendary hot chocolate cake.
Morton's is always solid, but given current conditions, dinner was fantastic. The steaks and drinks were perfect. Ask for Will, he'll take good care of you. Thank you!!
Food was good but the desert was terrible. Luckily they did not charge us for it, but way below what we expected.
We took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu, which had wonderful choices, so a fantastic value although I would be fine paying regular prices for the qualify of their food! The prosciutto wrapped mozzarella was amazing and of course the filet was perfect. The steak is delicious on its own but the cognac au poivre is a delicious add on. Our server Chris was so nice and very attentive. All in all a great evening out with my family!
Regretfully, I waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged at the door. I was clearly seen by several wait staff. Not very busy time either. Once seated, after attempting to leave due to lack of basic etiquette, I waited another 15 minutes to even get a glass of water! The manager did try to redeem my visit by personally attending to me.
My wife and I had a great time at Morton's last Sunday. We got the Waygu Meatballs to start (really good), the Cajun Ribeye (her) and the Prime Proterhouse with black truffle butter (mine) and both were delicious. We also got the Lobster Mac and Cheese and the Gratin Potatoes which were both really good as well. The only drawback was at the end of our meal, when the busser "informed" us that they closed at 8:00pm. For context, our reservation was for 6:45pm, and at the time, it was about 8:05pm.
I worked in food services for over a decade, and I've never told a table that they basically needed to leave. I understand that everyone has places to be after work, but if I'm dropping $300+ on dinner, the last thing I want to hear is that I'm an inconvenience from the bus boy. Our server never mentioned the time, and I had no issue tipping him 25%, but that singular comment from the busser almost ruined the experience for my wife and I. We'll definitely be back, and hoping to get a great experience from start to finish.
Our waiter was amazing!!! I didn’t catch his name!! But, he was a sweet Asian man that wore black glasses at times .. I’m so sad I didn’t get his name!! He mad our experience amazing!!! I’m glad there’s still amazing sweet kind people that is in the serving industry durning such a hard time!!! Thank you!!
I was very surprised how full the restaurant was. Appetizers and drinks were good, but I was disappointed by how over cooked my steak was for how much everyone raves about Morton’s. Overall not a bad experience but there are differently better steak houses in Northern Virginia.
