Morton's The Steakhouse - Portland

The restaurant is very attractive, the service is attentive. The lettuce in our Caesar Salad was limp and the baked potato wasn’t very good. Their printer wasn’t working and therefore there was no birthday dinner photograph or printed souvenir menu, small details I know, but part of what would make Morton’s special.
Everything was excelent
Fantastic service for a large group! Party of 14 with a tight timeframe for dining was a tough ask, but Morton's handled it like professionals! They sat us in a separate dining room and had two servers attending us - servers that were aware of our short timeframe and kept us on track to make a 7 PM showtime at the Keller. The food was spectacular, as well. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Fabulous!! Best experience ever!! Will definitely return :-)
Always a real treat to go to one of Portland’s best steak restaurants! We love going there and of course the steaks are truly amazing! Make sure you order the special deserts- soufflé! Yummy
Great food service and atmosphere. Patrick and James are always awesome!!!!
For a restaurant as pricey as this I expect the little things to be done very well. They were only OK. As an example my jumbo shrimp cocktail had shrimp that were overcooked and just plain hard. While the soufflé was tasty I found the table side splitting without asking if we wanted it split to be grossly done eliminating the nicety of enjoying one’s own soufflé. The steak knives were more like a woodshop tool in terms of their serrations than what should be used to slice a fine steak. $500 for four people with only two cocktails, one served in a cracked glass, is definitely pricey.
For the second trip in a row, we had a poor visit. This time, we were seated just inside the dinning room, I asked for a different table, but seater baulked and we took the table. Mistake, whenever a party arrived or departed, we were hit with a blast of COLD air and I got old fast. Not the best visit.
We had a wonderful waiter, Shane, and the service and the meal was outstanding.
Always a great place to dine. Both food and service were excellent.
We were headed to the theater as were many other patrons. We allowed an hour and a half for dinner which is usually just fine. For some reason the kitchen was over-whelmed and we were told our main course might not come out in time. We received our entree’s and how to eat fast in order to get out in time. My filet was not good.
Top notch service, food, and ambiance. Best steakhouse we’ve ever been to.
Normally very good food. This night it was average at best. Asparagus was over cooked, onion rings had onions that were too chewy, rolls were average at best, steaks were good, and service was good. It was so noisy we could hardly talk. Big table of 6 and holiday night probably the culprits!
My salmon was beautiful but a bit overdone, not dried out, just cooked longer than I requested. Unfortunately it did not have any flavor. It came with garbanzo beans and there was no flavor there either. My husband's steak was overdone, so they quickly redid it. Then it was a bit under done, but he said it was fine. Service was wonderful.
Shane took great care of us as we celebrated two birthdays in our group.
Great food and service every time we dine here.
Our Christmas Eve dinner was delicious. Morton’s was crowded so a bit noisy. The number of guests did not not have any effect in our service which was excellent. Pricey? Yes, but the quality is there in every way.
Great time. Our waiter John Did a wonderful job. Never been disappointed eating there and been a customer for many years.
Disappointed with handicap accessibility that evening. Despite being told we had a wheelchair, we were seated in a tight middle table and had to have an entire pathway of people and chairs cleared multiple times which was embarrassing for my father. Otherwise food and service was wonderful but these things should be obvious to a restaurant of this caliber especially when given notice.
Great meal, great service, as always, thank you!
I come to Morton’s often for dinner! Unfortunately this visit was really disappointing. Both entrees seemed to be of really poor quality. I ordered the mixed grill which I have ordered numerous times and the steak was awful and cooked medium when asked for medium rare, scallops wrapped in bacon seemed undercooked and overly salted and the shrimp was overcooked. The presentation was off as well, it just looked like slop on a plate. Service was excellent!! But I was very disappointed in the quality of the actual meal itself. Even the lobster
I will of course return, I have always enjoyed dining here at Morton’s. But that evening was a bit of a bummer. It was my partners first time and she was shocked that our meal costed that price ($300 total with gratuity). Maybe it was because it was a busy Friday night, but something was
Excellent place to celebrate a special occasion Mor just have a great night out.
Thought food would have more "wow" factor.
This was our first time at Morton's and it was exceptional. The food was really good but the service was really what was over the top impressive. The waiter, Matt, was funny friendly explained everything well and on top of things. The Maitrede was also a very friendly guy. The appetizers were tasty but the rib eye was amazing! Very impressed. Highly recommend.
Fast, friendly and attentive service staff. Tasty cocktails. Food was delicious. Check in took a minute, but there was a corporate party going on at the same time and they seemed to be causing minor issues with coat check and being seated. Totally satisfied with our experience at Morton’s.
We loved our meal and had great service. The new truffle wagu was amazing.
Joseph was exceptional. Maybe exceptional is ordinary for him. So impressed .
Meal was exceptional as well. We had a great time. We will be back.
We had a great dinner on thanksgiving, great service, food and drinks. Can’t say enough about Morton’s in Portland, OR
Friendly greeting, seated quickly, great wait staff. Food is good but as a steak house we look for exceptional. Four people, 3 steaks, 1 chicken. My steak was very delightful. Two others were not near as good. The chicken was something more like a a fast food breaded and over cooked bite. Quite disappointing. Drink recommendations were yummy. Same for the desserts.
It’s always a special ic
I've been to many Morton's and this wasn't one of the better ones. Very talkative waiter that didn't pay a lot of attention. $25 for lobster mac? At that price it should have had 1/2 a lobster in it instead of a few pieces of lobster claw. Brussel sprouts weren't roasted, more like boiled. Bok Choy, with the sea bass, wasn't wilted and it was barely cooked. Sea bass was fishy. The Caesar salad was the deconstructed type. This is a trend that needs to die soon. If I wanted to make my salad I would have stayed home.
Great night. Food, wine, service was all I expected. Thanks for helping make memories.
Our dinner was to celebrate my Mother's 90th birthday! From the moment we walked in the door she was treated like a queen, with the manager and other staff coming up to wish her a happy birthday throughout the evening. We even received a special souvenir menu made just for us. Our incredible waiter was Jeffrey, he made each of us in our party feel like he had all the time in the world to spend with just us. Throughout the evening I saw him taking care of his other guests and he treated them with the same thoughtfulness and care. Now for the, as always, incredible food we had. Each time I come to dinner at Morton's I try to have something different, but this time I just had to have my favorite menu item. It is the mixed grill that includes scallops, shrimp and a filet, I just love it. The scallops are cooked to absolute perfection, so sweet and delicious with the chutney provided. The shrimp are so good they taste like small lobsters. And then there is the perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked filet. This plate also comes with deliciously cooked asparagus. There were two other people in our party that ordered the same menu item and just thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My sister did not realize she liked asparagus until she tried it there. All in all a very wonderful evening.
It was great as always before a show!
Miserable food and service, got very sick afterwards, will never come back.
Great food, Really great service--just a little lowd, made it hard to hear across table
Matt was terrific. Prompt, attentive, personable and he got us out on time for the play we were going to.
