This was a very pleasent return visit to Mortons. James our server gave us excellent service and made sure we would make it to the opera ontime. Drinks were good. Food was great. James also saw to it that our credit card was secured after we left it behind. All in all a great dining experience.
This is the second time we did you summer special. The first time was great. We had the 6oz filet This time my summer tomato soup was hot was suppose to be served cold. The Chicken was over cooked and my husbands salmon was over cooked.
I have eaten at Morton's several times. I enjoy the stake immensely. The steak was perfect, the ambience is a little too dark for me. The service is always good, however the server has too many tables.
Service was great. Food was great. It's a bit spendy, but it's worth it.
Love this place. Going twice this week.
Kevin is outstanding -- makes the evening exceptional!
Steakhouses are known for excellent service...Morton's currently does not meet that standard. Food was very good, but service was very poor. Table not cleared, water glasses remained empty. Not the type of service you expect for a renowned Steakhouse.
Attending a show at the keller
Our waiter John was the ultimate professional. He asked about our evening plans as we ordered cocktails, and realized (after some checking with the theatre) that our tickets to the musical at the Keller had the wrong start time noted. Because of this we were still able to make our show and come back to enjoy a relaxed dinner afterwards.
Always high quality food. Steak wasn’t done quite right and they offered to bring me one that was cooked perfectly. They were very accommodating and kind about getting it right. Great customer service.
We had a reservation on open table and were seated in the smallest table they had in the place. there were many other couples that came in later who were seated at tables set for four. it’s the first time I’ve ever sat at such a small table. if they’ve been crowded I could understand but they never were— there were 10 open tables. And a man eating alone also had a table which seated 4. I eat there 6-7 times a year and this really bothered me.
This was our first visit to Morton's and we enjoyed our meal. Our server was very good at explaining that the serving size was quite large, so we ordered accordingly. I had the Sea Bass and it was served over bok choy, my husband ordered the filet, scallop and shrimp combination meal. It was served with asparagus. Since we didn't realize that a vegetable was served with it, we ordered the sauteed spinach and mushrooms (we would have gone with potato instead). We both felt the scallops were underdone, but the shrimp was fantastic. The steak was ordered medium but was served medium well to well done. The bread was delicious and huge.
the only good experience here is our server Shane and the food, we were placed at the table right at the door, had a family sat next to us with a baby pretty crying half the time we were there. It took us a while to get food but it's understandable because it's mother's day. There were other tables that were empty for the whole time we were there, I just don't understand why we were placed at the table that is right at the door and we made our reservation like a week before.
We had steak (of coarse) and king crab legs. Absolutely delishus. Very nice time with my wife and service was great as well.
We have been going to Morton's for special event dates since they came to Portland.
Food and service have always been excellent.
This is not a budget restaurant, the food is top shelf but so are the prices.
Everything about our first experience with Morton’s was fabulous… Except for allowing ourselves to be seated too close to the bar during the basketball playoffs! The boisterous Portland fans frequently interrupted our meal with cheers, not horrible but not what we were looking for in an elegant dining experience.
When one needs a red meat fix, Morton's menu will surely satisfy. That's what I needed while in Portland. Disappointments: waiter not attentive (missed my salad request, main course took quite a bit longer than normal to be served without informing me why order was taking so long); children running around dining room from a family table tucked away in the back part of the room. The disappointments were minor... Morton's always serves the best prime beef around.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We loved our very attentive and personable waiter! He made great recommendations to maximize our experience, and everything was wonderful. It was a great special night out.
As usual, the food was fantastic and the service was superior. We are loyal customers and enjoy the experience there. The steaks are classic and prepared perfectly. The hash brown potatoes are a new favorite of ours.
Their steaks are amazing. Cooked exactly how we asked. Loved the blue cheese butter on top. Our server was terrific, as they have been every time we've been there. Definitely one of our "go to" places for a very special occasion.
Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Never felt rushed and water glass was never empty!
We went here for my birthday. Everything was great! We had a great table and the food was great. They even took a souvenir photo for my birthday!
We booked a private room for dinner through Jillian at Mortons and she ensured it was absolutely perfect. Our server John nailed it, had a great time with us, and kept the delicious food coming.
Would highly recommend Mortons for a classic steakhouse experience.
Great Easter Dinner. Always great steaks, Matt our server did a super job with our twin 13 year olds. Very accommodating with Food allergies. Always a superb dining experience.
Food was great and service was fabulous
I used to be a huge fan. Something has gone awry...the service was terrible, something that was always impeccable here. There was no bread available until 1/2 way through our meal, I asked for a napkin which eventually I got up to get myself, and the server forgot to ask the kitchen a question about a dish, had to be asked twice to open our wine. The restaurant was packed and-- obviously-- understaffed, OR he was just an inept server. My lobster tail was mushy, the cauliflower horrible and well, a cold baked potato is just that. COLD. It didn't matter that they replaced the lobster either. The second one was no better. I thought I was in an entirely different restaurant than the Morton's of old. Sad.
Awesome meal and fantastic service!
My steak was so delicious that it made me tear up to have something so flavor full in my mouth.
Kudos to Morton's.
Birthday celebration for my son. It was a great experience with attentive service. One of my favorite places to dine.
I had the misfortunate of eating at Morton's with 3 other people on Saturday evening. Let me add, that Morton's used to be our favorite restaurant for a special meal out. When we arrived, we were shown to a table next to the bar (no divider) and it was so loud, we wouldn't have been able to converse. I asked for a different table and the person seating us, checked with the front desk and was able to move us a couple of tables in. When I make a reservation, I really don't expect to be seated in one of the worst seats in the restaurant. I would save those for walk-ins. After that, things went downhill. We waited at least a 1/2 hour (probably more like 45 minutes) between courses, as we were there for nearly 3 hours!) The Caesar Salad was nothing special. I could have made it at home for a few dollars (for all 4) and it would have been better. One of my dining companions did not get her wine--until I had to flag someone down (who rushed to the back to get it. Seems he forgot. My filet mignon left a lot to be desired as well. Compared to the other 3 at the table, it looked like the runt--something that shouldn't have been served. But, at least it was cooked to my specifications--medium rare. One of my dining companion's steak was medium well, not medium rare, as requested. She didn't want to order a new one because it took so long to get to the table to begin with. Next came the long wait for dessert. At least 45 minutes. The waiter didn't give me much choice for gluten free desserts--only sorbet. I never saw the dessert menu. All in all, we have decided that Morton's has scaled way back on quality and quantity, yet has still maintained the prices. It's not at all like the restaurant we loved for years. We will have to check out The Ringside or Ruth's Chris for our next "fine" dining experience. The worst of it is that that 2 in our party had never been to Morton's. I doubt they had a good impression when they left.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday everything was awesome no complaints drinks and meals were delicious my wife enjoyed everything and the staff was very nice and helpful I highly recommend this for a special occasion or date just to mention this restaurant is a high class which means prices are fairly high so keep in mind.
W e typically go on a Sunday so sw e get more attention due too not s many patrons. Our Sercer (John) was excellent.
Always outstanding - the bar staff always makes it an exceptional meal!
This is an expensive upper class restaurant with the best steak and seafood I have ever tasted and I am 65 years old and have been to many. The shrimp cappelini was excellent and the chef salad delicious and they even cut up the pieces for you and comes with yummy avocado. Wish I had the $$ to go more often! Our waiter, Matt was very informative about the various steak and seafood dishes offered and had great recommendations.
I arrived early and took a seat in the bar. The bartender was extremely pleasant and quickly brought me my non-alcoholic drink. He checked back frequently to see if I needed any thing else. When my party arrived, we were seated immediately. The waiter brought ice water, and gave us menus. He told us that 'hot' desserts would need to be ordered when the meal was ordered as they took time to prepare. That was really very helpful. Then he took our orders. He was there when we needed something, but did not hover. I REALLY liked that. The food of course was absolutely spectacular. My nephew and his wife had never been there before. They were impressed. We also ordered desserts. Next time I will have the cheesecake, because it looked amazing when my nephew ordered it. The one thing that I keep remembering is that ALL the staff were very friendly, and smiling all the time. They really looked like they enjoy their jobs. The only 'bad' thing I can think of is that the lighting is severely low, a little too dark for me. However, the food, again, was spectacular. This was my third time at Morton's, but it certainly won't be my last. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Food was great and service was even better !
Best steak I have ever eaten and I’ve eaten many! If you want the best quality you get what you pay for at this restaurant, excellent wine selection, great service, and the noise level was low enough where a normal conversation was easy to have.
Food & service were both excellent. Never disappointed when dining at Morton's. Athough, I was very disappointed that the Warm Spinach Salad has now been removed from their menu. It is by far the best salad on the mneu. Hope it is brought back soon.
The restaurant is lovely - as always. Loved our table, food delicious, but our waiter had a bit of an attitude when he heard we didn’t eat meat. We ate a lot of sides, and drank a lot of wine, and our bill reflected our abundance. Meat would probably have been cheaper. We tipped over 20% which seemed to improve his mood. By then, we were on our way out the door. Come on. You can do better!
Jason was our waiter. He was exceptional and the food was outstanding.
