We've had good times at Morton's before, but this was the best so far!
It was phenomenal
Amazing! Not cheap, though. $200 for two
Steaks were cooked perfectly to order and simply delicious. The sautéed spinach and mushrooms were very flavorful. The waiter was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. We passed on dessert but my wife had a delightful Sauvignon Blanc that the waiter recommended. This is the third Morton's in three different cities I have visited.
First time diner. Went there, for convenience, prior to the Keller. I knew it would be expensive so I was prepared.
I ordered the steak w/scallops and scampi. My friend ordered a 16oz. steak. We had two sides.
The restaurant was very crowded. The service was great. $35.00 corkage fee is overpriced.
My steak order was served very lukewarm..at their prices, food should be served hot. I felt if I sent it back it would take too long, considering the crowd. I did not like it. 3 scallops and 3 scampi was too small a portion for the price.
My friend's steak seemed fine so that was even more frustrating that we both should have had perfect food temperature.
Great night and great food! Corckage a bit on the high side since we bought 7-8 other drinks. All good though.
Great dinner with my daughter on spring break. Our food was amazing and my drinks were great too.
We had our anniversary dinner at Morton’s. It was a very busy evening (Easter weekend) but we had superb service & a wonderful dinner. When our waiter found out it was our anniversary, he comped our dessert. All in all, it was a lovely evening.
Kobe beef New York and prime Ribeye. We had an amazing pre-Hamilton dinner! Highly recommended.
Our steak was fantastic. The noise was unbareable.
I guess it might be a good idea to eat around 8:00
We go here frequently for a nice dinner in Portland, and have been going to Morton's restaurants around the country for years. This particular location is one of the best, with excellent, friendly staff, and a nice environment. The food is consistently great. They do "custom" things for occasions, we were here for a friend's birthday celebration, and they do tasteful recognition.
Pre-show at Keller, best steak ever for my daughter, fantastic!
Our waiter was first class and very knowledgeable.. the food was delicious.. the noise level made it hard to have a conversation but we adjusted.
We went for a birthday dinner followed by the show Hamilton. The staff was excellent, even the parking attendant observe that my wife was having mobility difficulties (she’s in need of a hip replacement).
After the Hamilton play (which was conveniently located just across the street), we were pleasantly surprised to see the car right out in front of the restaurant.
My wife did not have to stand waiting for the car! WOW that is service! Oh yeah the food was fabulous as well.
Excellent food and service, very nice bottle of wine. We had a nice meal and had no problems making our show on time.
the food took for ever...the waiter kept saying we had time, but we didn't before the play. we waited an hour before the main corse came after the salad. Very disappointing ...for the cost of the experience I would say its better to go to the sandwich shop down the way.
Very disappointed. We have 3 favorite steak restaurants in Portland including Ruth's, El Gaucho and Morton's. Our meal and experience at Morton's now dropped that number to two. We arrived at 5:35 for our 5:30 reservations. We were going to Hamilton with another couple and the 3rd couple was going to the Blazer game that night. The server knew this as we sat down. Things started out well and the salads all came out timely. We then waited somewhere between 30-40 minutes before the main courses came out. Once finally did there was a mess. My bone in filet was supposed to be medium rare and came out medium well. Another steak was prepared correctly but was cold to the touch. Another steak was supposed to be medium and was well. All the sides were scalding hot other than the hash browns that never came until another 7-10 minutes later and they were underdone. The Blazer couple was late to the game since the steaks didn't come out until 6:45. The manager tried to come and check on us but really was not that helpful at all and when my wife stated she was so disappointed, his response was "well I can't do anything about your disappointment but hopefully the food tasted good" as he turned and ran. Not really the response I wanted. When the bill came, the waiter stood over me as I perused the bill to find out what I was going to be charged for and it was so uncomfortable that we just asked. He gave us a break on the hash brown, the steak that I sent back and the corkage fee. We requested all the sides be taken off as well but the more I thought about it, I really would have liked the manager to be a bit more generous given the timing and the quality of the food that they served. The next day we spent more time discussing the fail at Morton's than we did about the excellent play or the Blazer game. I expect more from a restaurant of this caliber. We might go back at some point but I suspect it will be a long time before we do.
If I could show the drool on my phone I would. The food was wonderful, the waiter very pleasant and knowledgeable and they were considerate of our time constraints as we were going to Hamilton across the street. An absolutely wonderful evening with my wife, daughter and friend. Well done
Great food, great service as always
Love the restaurant. We have to come here every time we are in town.
Mat was awesome he made us feel like we were the only ones in the place even though it was packed. Food was over the top and the wine section was great. From the minute we got there until we left everyone was there for us
Food was fantastic.our server, John was the absolute best!
We have always enjoyed our experience at Morton’s. Our service this time was not very attentive and it felt like our server was always trying to “upsell” us whenever we ordered something. Food was delicious as always.
Service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. Our server was very attentive and I enjoyed it a lot. The only complaint I had is the steak I ordered was not cooked a I expected. I asked for medium rare but on the rare side. It came pretty much well done. A little disappointed but I guess I should ask to have it prepared rare, rare. Maybe I’ll get what I asked for.
Fantastic food and service
Great steak and excellent ambiance. Service was impeccable.
I expected more. The pre-meal bread may have been the best part, but my sister also enjoyed her key lime pie at the end of the meal. Prices were insane, seemingly just to be insane. Ambiance dark and fancy and service on point - Maybe that’s why folks go?
Fabulous food and service. Not a fan of the new remodel opening the bar to the dining area as it takes away from the ambiance and intimate setting it used to provide. It is now harder to hear and the tv's are distracting.
Food was good, but I have had much better at similar resturaunts. If you are in Portland OR, the Portland Grill is priced the same and much better food and abience. I had the rib eye, and it was ok, when you cook prime cuts they should be cooked right.
Morton's wait staff was very good, and knowledgeable and suggested a great wine for our dinner. Very friendly and attentive.
The food is always great and consistent when I go to any Morton's however Inc portland, Our waitress Ashley (spelling?), was amazing, very friendly and a great person to be in front of the customer. She made our customer experience even better than expected and wanted her to be recognized for this.
So Ashley, thank you for your great service and making our dinner experience at the Portland Morton's awesome.
This place is absolutely outstanding. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Quality food, service and a great atmosphere.
Food was very good. However, it took a while for our wait person to come to the table with menus. Then someone other than our wait person took our drink orders. Service needs to be a little better when they are very busy.
Morton's made my daughter's birthday extra special with complimentary birthday picture and birthday souffle. Anything that was the slightest bit imperfect, such as a sauce not served timely, was taken off or reduced from the bill. The staff made every effort to present a meticulously perfect experience. Amazing and most memorable evening!
steak is excellent！very fresh shirmp ！
As usual, we ejoyed our pre- and post-show meals at Morton’s! Great, classy ambience, wonderfully flavorful filet, lobster tail, creamed spinach and potato au graten.
Kelly, our dinner server was fantasti! Very professional, knowlegable and friendly.
After the play at the Keller, we returned for a chocolate sundae and Ashley (from PA) was our server. What fun we had talking about the east coast and such! Lots of fun!
Kevin is awesome. Look forward to going back.
Dinner before a musical at the Keller is ideal at Morton’s. The food, atmosphere and service are top quality. The noise from the very crowded bar extends into the restaurant causing a little distraction.
Another review, another wonderful dinner. My wife ordered the lobster bisque and the Filet Diane, and I ordered the onion soup and the honey glazed salmon along with some nice pinot noir. And, of course, the finale was the key lime pie - great! Our server, Will, was great also.
The food was fine, not great. The service was boisterous but slow. It was busy in his defense. The entire meal I was thinking I was back in the 80's...
