Morton's The Steakhouse - Pittsburgh Ratings and Reviews
I ordered the 14oz special and about 4 oz of it was a huge chunk of fat. Our sides came a half hour after our meals. The Brussel sprouts were not even cooked hard as a rock. The potatoes were under cooked and very starchy tasting. The worst part, no one stopped by said where sorry your food came out late or anything. Let me not forget the old man behind us coughing amd spitting into a napkin our entire meal.
This was my first trip to Morton’s and it was excellent from the service to the food. Our waitress went over the menu and called out the most popular dishes. We ended up going to two of her recommendations. My steak was cooked perfectly. We also got the cheesecake which was the some of the best cheesecake I have ever eaten.
Steaks are amazing, which goes without saying at Morton's. Sides and salads are equally good.
Cocktails, not so good. The bartender clearly didn't know how to make an old fashioned. The only fruit was an orange slice, and it wasn't even muddled. Didn't taste like there was any simple syrup or sugar, and very little bitters. Pretty much bourbon on the rocks with a slice of orange in the bottom.
Waitress was adequate, but when giving her my Landry Select member number, she picked up my unlocked smartphone and took it into the back room with her!
Visit here 2-3 times a year for special occasions. Have always had an excellent meal. Our waiter, Stephen, did not just give great service, he gave LEGENDARY service. Having a Landry's card was a real plus and the celebration photograph is a wonderful touch. We will be back. The only negative that I had was the $20.00 charge for a single glass of Pino Grigio, and I had two glasses.
Morton’s used to be our #1 place. We were there before seeing Wicked and were put in the backroom in front of a mirror that badly needed Windex. Our tuna app was great. Then came the soggy salad, then my over-done filet. Lastly, our waitress was very curt when we said we needed to get to the Wicked show so she brought us an ice cold soufflé. For $250, we expected a much better experience. Sadly disappointed.
Starting with a seasonal cocktail, Gingersnap. Delicious
The evening was off to a great start! Charred oysters were just a delicious as the ones we had in New Orleans.
Dinner was also delicious. Loved the new menu item.
We tried the Cauliflower mash!! Very tasty!
The staff at Morton’s always do an exceptional job!
Lisa (our hostess) and Rich (our server) were excellent! Lisa is wonderful and Rich has been our server on previous occasions! The food was magnificent and the place was very energetic the evening that we were there! We have never had a bad meal at Morton's/Pittsburgh and recommend it to our friends!
There were four of us for dinner for Pittsburgh Restaurant week and the experience was wonderful. Some times when you go to an event like Restaurant Week, you have a fear that you will not be treated well, but that certainly was not the case. The meals were excellent. Two of us had the filet and two had the double cut pork chop. Our server, Diane, was experienced and friendly. You can always count on Morton's for a great meal
Food was average at a way above average price. Server felt overwhelmed and too busy. We weren’t given the dessert menu until it was really too late to order hot dessert. The mushrooms were too salty and the cauliflower was only moderately warm. Definitely not top steakhouse choice in Pgh - Hyde Park was better. Lobster Bisque seemed greasy. Overall disappointed with this visit.
Anyone who believes that Morton's is priced out of reach for most should consider the superb meal my wife and I enjoyed at the marvelous Downtown Pittsburgh location on Thursday, 11 January 2018. For $40, my promotional meal included a more than ample complete dinner: large loaf of fresh, warm onion bread and whipped butter, caesar salad, cajun pork chop, a full, large order of mashed potatoes, and key lime pie. Everything was delicious. My recent $250 gift card purchase entitled me to a $50 bonus certificate and the Morton's Select Club membership provides further value and perks. Of course, Morton's wonderful ambience and fine service are a part of every feast. We left the table glowing! Bravo!
This was our second time at Morton’s and we couldn’t have enjoyed our meal more. The staff was really great and the GM Lisa was a pleasure to chat with. If they have the Wagyu filet special when you go, it’s a must have. Not sure I’ve ever had a nicer piece of meat. Overall fantastic experience! It’s a no doubt 5 star experience
Meh. We dine out a lot. Steaks were overpriced with average flavor. Potatoes Au gratin were yesterday’s baked potatoes diced up with some cheese thrown on them. Asparagus was just steamed, nothing special. Onion bread was dry. Service was average. It’s hard to find a good steak at a restaurant. We decided that we could have gone to a Lone Star and had just as average of an experience as we did at Morton’s but at a price that would have left us feeling as though we recieved what we paid for.
Food way too expensive. $62 NY strip and not even that tender. $45 for tiny filet. Should get something with the high priced entrees. We split potatoes au gratin... needed cooked more. Service & chocolate dessert good. Wine not that great. Coffee not good quality. They need to lower prices..... lots of good restaurants in Pittsburgh. Andrew’s steakhouse in casino as good or better.
We had Christmas dinner with friends at Morton's. Our server was excellent, efficient friendly and knowledgable. Dinners were well prepared and large in quantity. The only downside was the final bill. OUCH! Probably the most expensive restaurant in Pittsburgh. The wine list was very overpriced. Morton's you need a few moderately priced wines and meals otherwise you will be reduced to expense account meals and not the normal Pittsburgh's.
