Morton's The Steakhouse - Pittsburgh
I attended Morton’s in Pittsburgh for a birthday celebration. The entire night was perfect. The food was excellent, literally every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection. The Cajun ribeye was amazing! The crab cakes were so tender and buttery. The service was excellent, the wait staff were attentive, knowledgeable and kind. I really appreciate everyone that took care of us during the evening, they made it really special. The birthday boy received a complimentary dessert, the lava cake with ice cream. Also amazing. They also took our picture and framed it for us to take home. If you are looking for an amazing place to eat, by all means, this is it!
2nd time in a row with bad service. Colleague has a friend who said same. Food was good, except potatoes were lumpy. Wonder what happened. Used to be go to place.
Fantastic steaks, service, and drinks!
It took a long time for anyone to come over to our table. After about 15-20 minutes waiting we finally got some water and then about 5 minutes after that a server came over and said they were playing musical servers with us and now we’re stuck with her. But she took our orders and we sat for about 40 minutes before the salad came. Then I believe it was a manager who came out and asked my husband if they could butterfly his steak. She said we know it’s not how this is normally served but it will save time and said she would remove it from our bill. We get the bill, it’s still on there. You shouldn’t have to ask to have something removed from your bill when they say they’ll remove it. I now know why we haven’t been there for a long time.
I had high expectations from Mortons’s, the venerable steak house. Steak was done ok but was too salty. Sides were good. Horseradish mashed potatoes were a solid choice and balsamic asparagus was ok.
Paired the steak with a delicious lobster tail. Loved the state street Manhattan.
It was a great night for my wife’s birthday. Our server Kimi was fabulous and help with everything.
The usual experience—-predictable—-nice
Phenomenal food and service. Wagyu awesome
The steak I had was cooked to perfection! The service is always outstanding!
Really enjoyed the meal and the four course special was a great value. Cannot go wrong at this place.
Nothing makes me madder than going to a high priced (Morton’s shouldn’t be confused with high end) restaurant, being made to wait 75 minutes to get your food, and it arrives cold.
How can s place charge me $63 for a steak and 60 for a seafood dish, and not have dedicated food runners? When our stoner waitress decided to take a 20 minute break from her duties, must have been when the food came off of the line. Don’t you worry, they will take it back and reheat it. How the heck do you think reheated seafood are going to
I’m done with Morton’s. How do they still make it? There is a reason you can get a table there at any time of any day.
When my husband and I dine at Morton’s, we always feel special. The service is friendly without being intrusive, and the food is tasty and beautifully presented, and the ambience is on the swanky side. Just how we like it.
My wife and I both had the 12oz filet and the $75 appetizer and carrot cake for dessert everything was amazing and our server was awesome.
Hi , I had a Great dinner with my girlfriend, but my waitress was rude an loud towards the end when I was asking questions about my receipt . It was embarrassing to be looked at because of the volume of her voice.
Great meal! Steaks were done perfectly! The waitress suggestion of the truffle fries was spot on! Best I've ever had!!
The staff is so friendly always makes us feel welcome
Food and service was fantastic.
Fantastic dinner. Top notch! Amazing service and food.
Hostess was very polite. She checked our coats and seated us promptly. Right away we were disappointed in the bar service. You can only order what is featured in their cocktail or wine menu. While the wine menu is quite large, draft beer and other cocktails were not available. The cocktail menu wasn’t impressive. There appeared to be an actual full service bar, so I’m not sure what the issue was. My husband and I were quite confused when we were told they only offer what’s on the menu.
The menu listings provide zero description so you have to have your server explain everything on the menu. For example, “Morton’s Salad” but no explanation of what a Morton’s Salad is.
The food was good, but I think other steakhouses in the area have better food. I ordered a 6 oz filet Oscar style, but the crab meat tasted like canned crab. The dessert was quite small for the price. Usually the desserts in restaurants like this are quite abundant its common for people to share.
We probably won’t return to Morton’s since there are other steakhouses in our area with better food and drinks.
Amazing as always. Stephen was a wonderful asset
Amazing experience thank you Cassie !!!!!!
I went for my birthday and the food was amazing and the service was impeccable!
I've been here before and while the food is good most of the time on this particular evening nothing was good. The server was terrible and clearly didn't care about my wife or I. He even went out of his way to offer another table coffee or dessert and it wasn't his table. But ignored us. It was a Thursday night and there weren't a lot of tables so maybe it's time to find another restaurant to go to there are plenty in Downtown.
Excellent as always.....great food...wonderful service....the perfect place to go before a show in the cultural district.
Very slow good service and wait staff
Always a treat ! Waiter was great, very helpful, great attitude(brought extra plates, split salads) but he had too many tables to serve and disappeared several times. Ordered their special desserts (that take time to prepare) with dinner as they request, but he never came back to take orders for other desserts. We would have ordered a few others.
A gentleman, a few tables away, noticed that we sang happy birthday at our table and offered to buy our bday boy a drink.
I have to say, that he and his attitude, are what makes Morton’s special..., when you go to Morton’s, you are there to enjoy life and share it with others.
I dined alone. My meal was excellent! Period!
We waited entirely too long for our entrée to come out. Almost left but stayed at the urging of the manager - and still had to wait. They did not charge us for our meal. The complementary birthday dessert - chocolate soufflé, was absolutely awful, like rubber. "Exceptionally busy" was the excuse.
We had a fabulous experience from the Valet to our greeter to our waiter and the food was superb! My all time favorite restaurant in this city. Very elite dining
Beautiful interior, low lighting, friendly and knowledgeable staff, made a very enjoyable, relaxing dinner. Thank you!
Wonderful service! Made my birthday celebration spectacular!
Very crowded and hectic, probably because it Restaurant Week Saturday. I've been wanting to try Mortons and thought this would be good chance to test it out. But it was a disappointment. The servers were friendly, but rushed and harried, and not attentive. The food took quite a long time to arrive, though when it did, it was delicious. Wouldn't go back though.
The good. Side dishes and dessert. The bad. All off or steaks were overcooked. Waiter was arrogant.
Food was excellent, service was good, and the key lime pie was delicious.
Great selection for the restaurant week menu. Food was delicious
Everything about your restaurant was perfect and I will come again.
The food was excellent but the experience was ruined by poor service. The server was not very attentive. Even when we were done dining, it took approximately 45 minutes to get our checks and pay.
Visited Morton's for the first time during Restaurant Week. Had their special menu for the week. First of all, dinner service starts at 5, but valet parking (which is $9) doesn't start until 6. Doesn't say that anywhere so had to drive past the restaurant several times before finding my own parking.
I am NOT a picky eater, but I was disappointed everything I had except for the Key Lime Pie for dessert. The French Onion Soup was a major disappointment. It lacked flavor, had too little bread and cheese topping and had an odd sweet flavor rather than a savory flavor. I had the 1 lb. Double Pork Chop and Creamed Spinach for the entree. Although I ordered it medium, the Pork Chop was WAY overcooked. It was between medium-well and well done, light gray inside and dry. It also lacked any flavor. I never use salt, but had to use salt on both he Pork Chop and the Creamed Spinach. The tiny serving of Creamed Spinach also lacked flavor and was much too soupy rather than having a casserole texture.
The restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent, but the food was disappointing. Their regular menu may be better, but I will not return to try it based on my first experience. BTW, I visited 5-star restaurants all week during Restaurant Week and Morton's was the ONLY disappointing meal that I had!
