Morton's The Steakhouse - Palm Beach Ratings and Reviews
Poor all around. We were shown to probably their worst table despite plenty of open ones. Dry steak, slow service, flavorless sides, dry lava choco cake. Worst steakhouse experience in years, if ever.
They managed to lost my signed cc copy which was in the sleeve. Frantic phone calls after telling me I kept their signed copy (I had the unsigned guest copy)
Stay well clear if in need for steaks in PB
Increasingly disappointing in recent years, stemming from changes in the menu, etc. that seemed geared to increased profits. Creamed spinach had a unique but undesirable flavor of celery seed, mac & cheese tasted faintly of pepper, the vegetable, not the seasoning. A requested ingredient substitution was completely ignored by the chef. Dining experience was not bad but not as enjoyable as previously.
We generally "like" Morton's.....However, for the price, there are many better restaurants in Palm Beach. The hostess was EXTREMELY rude (no idea what that was about). The salads were mediocre, they were out of the wine we ordered, my steak was to be prepared medium and it was a well done grayish color... :( The manager agreed and brought another out. We had to ask for water refills. For two people and a $250 dollar bill (not counting tip - and we split the salad and a potato), we won't be going back to this Morton's.
Food served cold. It was the worst Lobster tail ever eaten (worse than Red Lobster!). No butter knives for spreading butter on bread, not given a soup or dessert spoon. Was expected to use standard teaspoon for all. Waitress detached to our needs. Main courses came out when only 1/2 finished with our soup/salad. Definitely not a do-over!
Went to Morton's on our last day of vacation which was also our daughter's 20th birthday. They did not disappoint. Everything was first class and top notch. The hostess and manager were lovely and immediately acknowledged Jenna when we checked in. They had created special menus for us recognizing Jenna's birthday and the server was wonderful. They even took a keepsake photo of our party. And I haven't even gotten to the food! - which was of course of typical Morton's excellent standards! The short rib taco was a tasty appetizer and each of our entrees (steaks, seafood and chicken dishes) were perfectly cooked and flavorful. We opted for the hot chocolate cake AND the chocolate soufflé for the table to share. Both were delicious but we all agreed that when we return (because we will definitively return!), we will go with two hot chocolate cakes, as they were melt-in-your-mouth chocolatey goodness! Thank you Morton's for a fantabulous evening!
The service was horrible even if the food was good I didn't get to enjoy it because the service was so bad by the time I got my food I was already in a bad mood and didn't even want to eat worse $400 I spent was so disappointed should have went to Ruth Chris
We went for Christmas dinner as a treat. We knew it would be pricy. I anticipated having a 5 star experience like similar to the Breakers or Eau Palm Beach. It was subpar. Our waitress didn't follow up with us. We ordered our food, that pretty much summed up the experience. I've had better service at Ihop truth be told. Nevertheless i learned not to return to Mortons. I'll save my $200 for the Brazilian court. Fortunately being in Palm Beach we have lots of elegant dining option.
Pricey place to spend Christmas dinner, but I wasn't having my MIL cook again after feeding 15 people the night before, so I booked Morton's over a month in advance and would have thought I would have not been all the way in the back of the restaurant surrounded by screaming babies when there was a ton of 4 tops that we passed on the way to our table... but I digress. Our waitress was wonderful, and was helpful enough to give the hi-sign to my husband so he could pay the bill without mom knowing (nice touch), and was there when we needed her. That being said, it's Christmas evening, and these folks are serving you to the best of their ability on a Holiday! Kudos!
Food - probably the best French Onion soup I've had in the 42 years on this planet, and my bone-in Ribeye was cooked exactly to my liking. I thought the au gratin potatoes could have been better, this is an award winning steakhouse after all with locations all over the place, but now I know to go with the lobster mac & cheese!
Will I be back next Christmas.... not sure, but I have no regrets about this dining decision for Christmas 2016.
The dining experience started off poorly. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes before we were offered water. The hostess finally asked if we had been attended to and after she learned that we had not, gave us a complimentary drink, which was appreciated. The service got better thereafter but the beginning left a bad taste in our mouth. This was especially disappointing given it was Christmas Eve. We usually go to Ruths Chris but we wanted to try Morton's, hoping it would be a nice alternative. It was not.
Annual work holiday party/dinner . Disaster from drinks to desert! Dirty martinis wayyyy tooo dirty to sip! Pure olive juice nasty! Sent back!
Food not prepared as ordered ,waitress that only cares about upselling EVERYTHING!!!!! Sides dishes not cooked all the way served raw and not as described by waitress. Spinach and long buster mac odd flavor of nutmeg overpowering each bite. Meat over cooked , covered completely in peppercorns. Gelatinous sauces . Undercooked soufflé and no molton lava in our chocolate cakes at our table. Coffee ordered even before dinner plates cleared and they never made it to table until deserts were eaten!!!!! Best yet uneaten steak and veggies taken away by server/busser to be packed up in doggie bag went missing never returned to our table. Waitress brings to go bag with an entire new steak ( still mooing!! Black and blue sushi style) never says a word or apology never acknowledges the mistake!!!! Btw we didn't even realize this occurred till next day looked in to-go bag and container!!!! Would have been nice to just hear an apology for such a disaster
Will most likely never step foot in WPB Mortons again!!!
I happened to mention in making my reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. Well everyone from the receptionist to the wait staff made it a point to wish us a happy anniversary. The photo taken of us at the table and presented to us in a card was a very nice touch as was the complimentary dessert. Mortons really made our anniversary special.
I love the food but the staff has been continuously disappointing. We had an extremely slow and disoriented waitress. The valet driver rolled his eyes at my grandfather because he didn't have cash and asked if he could pay him a tip on his card. The manager is really the only person who is consistently kind and "on top of things" but he clearly needs to get on top of his employees.
The service was superb. We were seated promptly and our waiter appeared immediately. He was most attentive and the service and food were excellent. We were presented with personalized menus and were wished a happy anniversary by everyone. We were presented with a special dessert and were given a photo. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we will tell our friends about it.
We visited Morton's for my 30th birthday. We've visited many high-end steakhouses and this one was ranked pretty high on our list. The sides were really the icing on the cake. Our steaks were great and tender but not over-the-top. We would consider coming back in the future. Dessert was lovely too. They made the visit special by taking a picture of our group for my birthday.
