Morton's The Steakhouse - Orlando Ratings and Reviews
We had a great time dining at Morton's. The wait staff was very friendly, often referencing us by name. Steven, our server, went out of his way to make my friend's birthday dinner special. The food was enjoyable and the ambiance was great. The restaurant filled up quickly yet it never became uncomfortable to have a conversation. I felt like my steak was a little overcooked (didn't mention it to the server) but I have high expectations for a restaurant that specializes in steak.
After three attempts we finally made it to Mortons in Orlando. I am used to fine dining but had never been to Mortons? My husband was there for a quiet business meeting and noticed they had Alaskan King Crab which is my favorite food. I specifically stay away from all the usual suspects here in Orlando because there is so much convention business and usually they are loud and rowdy (Eddy V, Del Frisco, etc.) Mortons was lovely and quiet. food was great, especially the lobster bisque.) Well, it actually was all prepared to perfection. We had a lovely time!
Service was great. Lobster bisque was a bit watery and heavy handed on the pepper. The mozzarella with prosciutto was good, but if it was better seared would have been great. The bone-in filet was great and the bone-in veal chop was good. I got the truffle butter on the side, good thing because the garlic was overpowering. The coffee service was great. The chocolate souffle was a disappointment, as it substantially lacked chocolate flavor, and all we could taste were egg whites. It was more like a bad chocolate meraigne. I suggest you avoid the souffle.
Me and my friends did Magical Dining last Saturday and the service towards us was not good at all. We all sat down and the water guy comes over, does not introduce himself, but says tap or bottled... We ordered drinks and some of them did not come out ( it was due to a new guy that was training), and when asked which menu we were ordering off the guys was so loud telling our group the menu. We were not tre ated fairly.. While waiting a woman was complaining about her customer experience sitting at the bar ( which was not a good one). The food was delicious. I would have to give 10 stars for the food, bit the customer service was not so good.
Food was good, but service and overall experience was not good. We had reservations but took an additional 20 minutes to be seated. We were seated in a back room and made to feel that we were in steerage. Waiter literally was in a rush to take our order.
Will not go back and would not recommend.
The food was great for the most part with the exception of my wife’s pork chop which was dry but they took care of that quickly. The lobster Mac and cheese never disappoints. The service was good for he most part with the exception of our server just randomly scratching my wife’s back!! My wife had a itch in a hard to reach area just below her neck and as he passed by he scratched her back. We both looked at ourselves in shock and just let it go, but that was the talk of the night. My experience at Morton's was fabulous as always. I tried the salmon for the first time and it was delicious. I am not a fish eater but thought that I would give it a try. I was not disappointed, it was flaky and fresh. The sauce was perfect with it, not to overpowering. My friends split the shrimp Alexander appetizer and loved it. I will definitely keep returning as this place is one of my favorites.
We went to enjoy the magical dining experience for my birthday with family and friends. Everything was amazing except for when they told us the creme brulee was finished for the night. We were disappointed but the server made up for it with such excellent service. Dale was great!!! I would go again and definitely recommend this to anyone.
We were excited to try Morton's during the Magical Dining Days due to the great price on the meal. Unfortunately, we felt the food was overrated and were grateful we did not pay more than we did. The Caesar salad was perfect. The French onion soup was ok but was very peppery. The filet was properly cooked but devoid of flavor. In fact, I added salt to the meat, which I have never done before! The sides were ok. The lava cake was the best item we tried all night. The server was nice but on the slow side. We went over 5 minutes before he even looked at us and it took another 10 minutes for him to take our order. I understand pacing a meal and appreciate not being hurried, but there were long periods of time where the server was missing from the dining room all together. I am glad we tried this restaurant when there was special pricing, otherwise we would be very upset.
I've eaten at different Morton's around the US and this Morton's in Orlando was the best of any of their locations I've eaten at. We had 2 birthday's at the table and they made us feel very special. My young adult son has trouble everywhere we go getting his steak prepared correctly but this location prepared it perfect. We had a party of 5 and all of us thought the food, atmosphere and the staff did a great job.
We felt rushed from the moment we were seated. The waiter rushed through everything, we saw more of the gentleman refilling the water than our own waiter. Even the hostess said "that was fast" as we were leaving. The onion soup was inedible, and left uneaten. Was excited to eat here for the first time; however, we will not be back.
Went to Mortons for Magical Dining. All people ordered filets, which were served extremely rare, but not ordered that way. The meet was still mooing. Really disappointed in the food. A restaurant of that price range should know how to cook it perfectly. Not my first magical dining experience, and this was the worst. I won't be back.
Me and my wife go out on date night every Friday and eat out. We actually spend way too much money every week on this. We have been to Morton’s at least four other times and never been super impressed. This time it was the worst experience we ever had there. Waited 35 minutes to be seated even though we had a 8 o’clock reservation. Waited another 40 minutes before we even got bread, which is the worst bread I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The food was not all that great either. Not a lot of taste. To keep it short we will never go back again!
We waited 20min after we arrived (even with a reservation). Then it took the server 10min to get to us and when he found out we were doing magical dining immediately dismissed us. It took 40minutes to get out alcoholic beverages!!! It took 1hour to get our appetizers and then another 30 for entrees. Food was good but way over seasoned. We actually had to ask for the manager (which is crazy with everything taking that long) he didn’t seem to care to much and it honestly felt like he couldn’t be bothered by us. What did he do... he gave us 4 pieces of cake which was a waste since we were already getting dessert. He didn’t offer to take care of the beverages that took 40min or some of the sides, what a joke. Our waiter was extremely inattentive until it was time to sign the bill. He was about 3 feet from the table staring us down, so uncomfortable. If he was half that attentive during the meal he would’ve gotten a better tip. It took over 3 hours for everything and we constantly had to ask for water and iced tea refills. The table next to us heard us talking about how long it was taking and they had the same feed back. Needless to say I don’t think I’ll ever recommend or ever go back.
One of the worst fine dining experiences of my life. We tried to get drinks at the bar which took over 15 minutes for anyone to even ask us for an order, and I’m not exaggerating on the time. Dinner took over 2 hours. The service was so slow. I don’t think it was any specific person’s fault, but this restaurant in general as a whole. The waiter did comp one round of drinks for us, but no manager stopped by our table to explain why things were running so slowly. The hostess did ask us on our way out how our meal was and she unfortunately heard all of this in person. The food was good, but our experience was ruined by the service and this being our first time at this restaurant, we are more than likely not going to return.
My wife and I had dinner here for Orlando's Magical Dining. Overall we had a good time. The food was good but not exceptional, we were disappointed with the Lyonnais potatoes which were little more than home fries. The cocktails were good. The lobster bisque was a $3.00 'upgrade' and came in a very small tea cup. Delicious bisque but not worth the upgrade considering the size of the serving. The service was very good. The restaurant was VERY loud and noisy, but this may have been due to Magical Dining. The wine we had was excellent. Looking at the regular menu we would not go here except for Magical Dining as the prices are very, very high for the quantity and quality of food you get ($48.00 for a small 6 ounce filet mignon and all the sides were extra!).
My wife and I went for the Magical Dining menu. We had been to Morton's in San Francisco, NYC, and Chicago and this franchise faired well beside them. My only problem was that I felt we were rushed along. In my opinion I beleve that this was more because we used the discounted menu than the waiters desire for efficiency.
