Morton's The Steakhouse - Midtown Manhattan Ratings and Reviews
First the good ...
Service : poor , waiter disappeared several times candles not lit, & menus took 10 minutes to arrive at our table. He did manage to be very attentive towards the end of our meal ( shocking ) when the bill and/ or tip were due...
So to sum up , food great , service very poor considering the large bill . Neatly 400$ for 2 of us ...
Won't be back. Sorry ...
All was good overall. Good, friendly Team service.
The caesar salad could have been tastier (more zest, garlic, lemon?). Also, the croutons were impossible to break. I am sure if I had of picked them up with my hands, that may have worked, but chose not to. Not a huge deal, just wanted you to know.
We were in New York to support a friend running the New York City Marathon and two nights before the race she’s needed to eat protein, so Morton’s was the perfect answer. The food was superb, the atmosphere, although a bit noisy, was great and the wait staff was extremely attentive to our table. I don’t go there again in a heartbeat.
Morton's never disappoints! The steak was excellent, as always. Our waitress was especially helpful and checked back on us several times. The manager also came to the table to make sure that everything was fine. Excellent service all around. We would definitely return!
I have been to many Morton's restaurants but this one on 45th & 5th Ave in NYC is one of the best (if not the best). I have been here a few times and each time the meal is outstanding. The managers call you afterwards to make sure everything was in order...I will be back!
It was a solid dinner with good appetizers but the steak is where I was disappointed. It was tough and under cooked which is the last thing you was when you order it medium. The service was so inattentive where they took 40 min to clean up our plates making it too late to order their famous molten cake (takes 30 min to prepare). Overall weak experience for how much it cost
The Filet Mignon had no taste, the shrimp cocktail sauce hadn't much flavor, and the Mashed Potatoes were not very good. I've had much better meals at other cheaper restaurants. I expected good things to come out of Morton's, after learning of their reputation, but I would not recommend anyone to visit. I had to remind the waitress to bring us straws three times, she rarely checked our table to fill our glasses of water, and did not tell us about the 30 minute wait for some desserts. I wouldn't go back.
Our maitre d' Luis, was terrific, as was Carolina, our waitress. Each knew of my allergies and carefully explained what I shouldn't order. When a bottle of champagne we ordered was unavailable, Luis poured us a complimentary glass of an alternative.
These were two of the finest restaurant people I have ever encountered!
Best steak I ever had. I had just proposed to my fiancé an hour before we got there, and it was the perfect celebration. Our waitress was super friendly, and they gave us a free desert because of the occasion. We don't make a lot of money, so a dinner like this only comes around once and while for us. It's definitely expensive, but if your well off or celebrating something special, this is a great place to eat.
We were celebrating our friend's engagement/bachelor party. We had one of the boardrooms which was perfect for our group, as we could talk amongst ourselves and hear everything. Our server was great, very attentive and a real pleaseure to work with. Food all game out as ordered. Excellent beginning to a great night.
When in New York, we always swing by Morton's as we are always treated to 5* service. The onion bread is delicious, cocktails made with care and ambiance delightful. The steaks are incredible - best steaks we've ever eaten. We are never disappointed. Although a touch on the expensive side, it is definitely worth it and highly recommend. Tip: unless you have a gargantuan appetite, stick to two courses, I.e. Starter and main or main and desert, as with the additional sides you will be full and satisfied!
